About Shelly Campbell
My wife (30 years together) and I decided to buy the house across the street when it came available. Over the course of two years, we gutted and rebuilt it from top to bottom. It comes fully furnished with practical and artistic pieces we created ourselves. Shelly (that's me) now runs the house as Eileen plays in her painting studio, which is located across the street behind our house. Background: We both grew up trailing our military dads (Army & Air Force) around the world until we grew up and started our adult lives. Still, Shelly calls Petoskey, Michigan, her family home and Eileen calls Vermont her home of family origin.
Shelly Campbell purchased this House in 2009
Why Shelly Campbell chose Riverview
The interior and exterior of the property is in pristine condition, the neighborhood is richly diverse—white, black, Native, Mexican, Hmong, mixed race, gays, rich, poor, middle-class, democrats and republicans—you name it, we've got it. The location (by car) is 4 minutes and 30 seconds from downtown St Paul/10 minutes from Minneapolis (to answer the number one question posed by folks: yes, we are 4 minutes from the Xcel Energy Center). A fully-functioning photo studio is located on the backside of the property—need a new family portrait, or a head shot for LinkedIn, Facebook, or hey, an obit photo? Search on "The Two Muses Guest House" for more info.

Great Property- Great Stay
The house was great as was Shelly's help and hospitality! Conveniently located, we could walk to many of the area attractions. Shelly went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.
A great group of friends, all with a great sense of adventure. I’d never heard of guests walking as much as this group of six, but they all seemed in good nature, despite their 13 mile trek! On the day of their departure, the house was left in great shape. To all future hosts: I’d welcome these folks in a heartbeat.
Perfect home for our family gathering
We had 6 family members that spanned three generations stay in this wonderful home. The home was clean and comfortable with the additional touch of amazing artwork and humor. We specifically wanted to stay in this area for personal reasons, but also nice to be so close to downtown St. Paul. We highly recommend this home! (My mom was just talking about the house and said, “it was so well done- it was amazing!”)
We’ve been totally rewarded with wonderful guests this summer, to which Kelli and the gang are no exception. Future hosts that welcome them will quickly realize that they’re a family of folks who play by the rules and also offer neighbors a glimpse of well-educated people with a great sense of humor and warmth.
Great vacation home
This is by far the nicest and cleanest vacation home we ever stayed in. We met Shelly and she was friendly and vert likeable. I would recommend this house to anyone going to that area.
Vebro made the booking easy too.
Really sweet people with a great sense of adventure when it came to discovering the gems of Minnesota. They treated the house right, and I hope to meet with them again, someday!
Loved our stay
House was very clean, owners are great. Would definitely stay here again. My first time using VRBO and I am very pleased.
Really nice folks—I hope they had a good time checking out the Twin Cities, despite the occasional downpours. And yes, they left the house spic and span!
Artistic Jewel in the Twin Cities
Our family of five couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during our week-long visit to the Twin Cities. The basic necessities are there: great location, parking, ease of check-in and check-out. However, it is the home's personal and unique touches that truly made us enjoy our stay. Every corner of the home celebrates the creativity, quirkiness, and exceptional craftsmanship of the homeowners. It was such a pleasure to have a fun and homey place to stay in. Many thanks to the Two Muses! We would be so lucky to be able to visit again.
Emily and her family are the kind of people you’d love to have as neighbors, and if you were so lucky, family. Really sweet people that make us happy to have a home away from home to offer visitors to our city!
Absolutely perfect rental property!
This is our second time staying at this property, and it is without question the best vacation rental property we have found. The house is charming, immaculate, and stocked with everything you might need, the owners are friendly and easily accessible, and the neighborhood is quiet and just a short drive to downtown St. Paul. I can't recommend it highly enough!
A really great family who would be great permanent neighbors—maybe someday they'll move to the Cities? Let's hope so!
The house is located in a quiet neighborhood just south of downtown St Paul, and 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. There are many museums in the Twin Cities, including the Science Museum of Minnesota, The Children's Museum, The Walker Art Museum, Minneapolis Institute if Arts, as well as international theater such as the Guthrie (and a multitude of local live theater options). If you're into sports, the Xcel Energy Center is 5 minutes away. We've also got the Vikings Stadium, Target Field, and the Saint Paul Saint's outdoor stadium within minutes of the house. And shopping? Try Grand Avenue in Saint Paul (10 minutes from the house), or check out the Mall of America (only 15 minutes away). Restaurants are toooooooo numerous to mention—we love to eat, and we've got the whole gamut of fine eateries in the Twin Cities! When you arrive, check the Guest Manual for a list of our favorites.
