This old homely country house, older than 100 years, it’s located on the road from Sóller to Fornalutx, at a 20 min walk to Sóller centre and 30 min to Fornalutx. Ca’n Tirany is a finca with a very beautiful grove of orange and lemon trees and a 100m2 garden with wonderful views of Serra de Tramuntana Mountains
The house has the character of the rustic Majorcan homes, with typical high-beamed ceilings. In the large stone floor lounge, with a wooden stove for the winter, there is a pleasant meeting place under an old fireplace, with comfortable sofas and armchairs. A door leads to the dinning room with a big table, chairs and a fire place. The kitchen is fully equipped with 4 rings gas hob, oven, fridge and a washing machine as well as a good selection of cocking utensils. Both from the dinning room and the lounge you can access the garden. Next to the lounge there is a bathroom. A small flight of stairs drives to the first bedroom with a double bed and a window leading to the garden. On the first floor there’s another wide bedroom on the left side with a double bed and on the left side, the bathroom and the third bedroom with twin beds. There are electric radiators in the bedrooms.
Downstairs you can use the wooden stove. If you ask before your stay, we can provide a good amount of wood for 45 € extra.
The garden is at the back of the house and has spectacular open views of the mountains around. At the bottom, under an old tree, there is a big wooden table and chairs, a low sofa with cushions and some hammocks. On the left side, there’s a reservoir 1.70m deep and some 35m2 area. Water is coming every week from a mountain spring, as it is used to water the trees of the finca, and it stays clean enough to be used to cool oneself down in the hot days. But we don’t use any chemicals like chorine neither has a treatment system and so, it can’t be considered at all as a swimming pool. Next to the reservoir, a path leads us to the big lemon and orange trees grove. Special Offer, Only 2 people using 1 bedroom discount of about 100€, except in July and August. The description of the property is very fair and more or less accurate. But it is not "near a beach" -this 5/6 km distant as stated. The property is a very characterful old and traditional country house with a lovely lived in feel about it and wonderful mountain views. The oranges/lemons were abundant and free for the picking and with the aid of a juicer (provided) we drank gallons of fresh sweet juice. There was ample cutlery/crockery and kitchen equipemnt but the cooker needs replacing as there were only 3 rings and neither grill nor over were in working order. Also, whilst there were a fine selection of frying pans there were only 3 small saucepans without lids. We enjoyed the hi-fi in the snuggery with its good collection of classical CD's and the ghetto blaster in the dining room tuned in to the Spanish equivalent of Radio 3. We also appreciated the large and silent ceiling fan in the bedroom. We found there was alot of traffic noise particularly the scooters, so kept the bedroom window closed. A second window facing the garden would have been very welcome.
The stone stairs were steep so unsuitable for elderly, handicapped people and young children but the groundfloor bedroom would be fine for these. The deep irrigation tank in the garden did not have guard rails - so children would need watching. A car is essential but there is no parking space with the property so it has to be left on the road. We had a wonderful holiday in this spectacular area of Mallorca.

"The house was beautiful, comfortable and unpretentions. It was very well equipped and a joy to stay in. Can Tinrany is located close to Soller but a moments walk from Biniraix, the mountains and awesome footpaths. Lola who met us in Soller to guide us to the house was charming and friendly. The house is set on the fringes of an orange and lemon grove and the views all around the property were fabulous. We had a simply wonderful and relaxing week."

"This lovely house is in a spectacular setting in the heart of the rugged and dramatic Tramuntana Mountains, the highest peak of which can be seen from the garden and through the kitchen and dining room windows. The house has its own orchard of orange and lemon trees. The whole area is full of citrus groves and all the more beautiful for that.
The house itself is rustic. It has three large and comfortable double bedrooms and one very good bathroom with sink, toilet, bath, bidet and shower. The water is plentiful and hot. There is also a second toilet, sink and a more basic shower on the ground floor.
The kitchen is well equipped and the living room has good rustic comfort. Heating in the living and dining rooms is with log-burning stoves and there are electric heaters for the bedrooms. When we were there in March we had to use the heating most of the time and making log fires was an essential part of the experience.
The house is ideal as a base for walking in the mountains and there is a great choice of wonderful walks strarting from, or near, the house.
We had a really enjoyable stay in Can Tirany and when we needed to consult the owner, she was extremely friendly and helpful. She was as keen for us to enjoy our stay as we were ourselves."

Das Can Tirany war das beste Ferienhaus, dass wir bislang gemietet haben! Neben der günstigen Lage (10 m zum GR221 / 500 m zur Frischwasserquelle in Binibassi / 500 m zu örtlichen Kooperative mit frischem Brot, offenem Wein, Gemüse, Olivenprodukte etc: / ca. 20 min. zu Fuß ins Stadtzentrum) und dem großen Zitronen- und Orangengarten beeindruckte uns vor allem der Stil, die Einrichtung und die sehr sorgsame Gestaltung aller Räumlichkeiten: Die Zusammenstellung von modernem und antikem Mobiliar, zahllose Original-Kunstwerke sowie wunderbare Design-Lampen bilden zusammen ein unvergleichliches, individuelles und sehr anregendes Ambiente!
Ausstattung von Küche, Wohnbereich und Garten sowie v.a. auch die Sauberkeit im und ums Haus ließen nichts zu wünschen übrig!
Nicht zu vergessen die gute Betreuung durch die Vermieterin bzw. deren Freundin - alles klappte reibungslos!
Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort!!!
Can Tirany: authentiek in een authentieke omgeving
Can Tirany is een erg sfeervol huis met dito tuin; schitterende uitzichten op de bergen en de sinasappelboomgaarden. Het is een geweldige uitvalsbasis voor wandel- en fietstochten door de magnifieke bergstreek van Mallorca. Na terugkomst prima nagenieten met zelfgeperste en -geplukte sinasappels of wijn van de Landbouwcooperatie die 600 mtr verderop ligt. Soller is gezellig en ook prima aan te lopen; het strand ligt daarvoor net te ver maar is goed te doen op een (gehuurde) fiets.
Het huis heeft ruime, schone kamers en een authentieke sfeer; wij voelden er ons meteen thuis. De foto's liegen niet en de dames Catalina en Lola hebben ons efficient terzijde gestaan.

Palma de Mallorca airport is at about 30 Km from Sóller and on the way out there are Taxis and many Rent a car companies. When going by car, from Palma Airport take the motorway towards Palma/Andratx and leave at the exit "Via de Cintura". Then leave this road at the "Sóller" exit and continue on the C711 road past Bunyola and through the tunnel to Sóller. If you don’t like driving a car, there is a Bus to Palma centre every 15 min. and it has a stop at Plaza España. There you will find Sóller train station where you can take the old and lovely electric train and arrive in Sóller in an hour. Otherwise, you can easily get to the bus station (at some 300 m from Plaza España) and take the bus called “Tunel Express”. It only takes a half an hour and the best stop in Sóller is at Plaza America, just 5 min. away from the main square. Once in Sóller, you will find taxis next to the train station. We will arrange a meeting before your arrival for the keys, payment, etc. Sóller is a perfect place for trekking. You can have easy walks along the paths inside the Valley as well as make longer excursions on the beautiful mountain tracks going to the top of the mountains or along the sea side. Just next to the house there is path going to Fornalutx. In a half an hour walk you will be at this beautiful village of great architectural and aesthetic interest. The main square it’s a lovely place to stop and relax on the way to the mountains. And, very near the house starts another path going to the hamlet of Biniaraix, in between orange groves, in only 10 -15 min. There you will find a terrace bar and it’s the starting point for ‘Es Barranc”, a wonderful track going to the top of the mountains. There are also tracks going along the sea side to the picturesque village of Deiá. . If you don’t have a car, you can easily get to Port of Sóller by tram or just walking. On the left side there is the Platja d’en Repic, a sandy beach where you will find many bars and restaurants. On the right side there is also a sandy beach, the old fishing harbour and the nautical port. There are boats going to Sa Calobra and the famous Torrente de Pareis, one of the most spectacular places in the island. You can even go windsurfing, sailing, diving or just enjoy a drink or meal at one of the many terraces of the cafes and restaurants.
