Located in the heart of the medina in Assilah, with stunning, unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean, this colorful and cozy home is above all a personal house. Designed over time, the house offers diverse spaces where each guest can find a space reflective of their mood. Vibrant, airy, yet encompassing, the house has 2 fireplaces for a warm winter and summer. With it's 3 double bedrooms, 2 living rooms with dining rooms (one with a sea view) and 2 beautiful terraces overlooking the sea you will be compelled to forget about your daily life and relax at the edge of the waves below.
In winter: the electric heater is provided in addition to the 2 fireplaces available.
The home sleeps a MAXIMUM of 10 people, including children.
The rental includes the following services:
Staff (cleaning and preparing breakfast): 6 days a week.
Utilies: electricity, heating (electric, in winter), hot water, unlimited high speed internet access
Food and drinks (with the exception of breakfast)

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house Dar Malak in April of this year. The house has the best location possible in the whole town. Not only does the house have a “postcard view” but the view is *actually* the most popular printed postcard for Assilah. What we liked most about staying there is that you can feel like you are at home, albeit in a foreign land. Assilah is a resort town, but we encountered few foreigners during our stay, as most of the tourists seemed to be Moroccans. When entering the house from the bustling stone streets, you have the feeling of stepping into a sanctuary as you walk through the hallway inside to the central, two-story interior courtyard space naturally lit by a large skylight on the roof.
The beautiful tile floors, cheerfully painted walls, artwork, and sea-faring/nautical themed furnishings throughout the house are evidence that the house is a home and not a “rental property.” The terrace is spectacular with two levels offering great views and almost seeming like a secret garden. The bedrooms and beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are elegantly fitted out. The kitchen is well equipped, and, al hamdu lillah, includes a Nespresso machine (so bring your capsules -- no Nespresso shops in the country).
By virtue of the seaside location, the humidity translates into occasional mustiness in the house. To be fair, that is not a failing of the house as much as the reality/tradeoff of a seaside location. Additionally, we were there very early in the year and it has apparently rained a lot this year, so I guess we had a “perfect storm.”
The owner N. was attentive and helpful, including arranging a minor repair that was needed. The housekeeper L. speaks very good Spanish, though not much English at all. L. prepared fantastic local Moroccan dishes for nightly, did the dinner shopping, and showed us the best local markets. With her cheerful and welcoming attitude (and her fantastic cooking), Lamyya contributed significantly to the quality and enjoyment of our stay. We have very fond memories of our stay at Dar Malak and hope to be able to return to “our house” in Morocco before too long. In the meantime, we’ll have to make do with Epicurious recipes as we try to re-create some of L.’s wonderful dishes at home.
Overall, an excellent experience! Highly recommended.

"One week was to short in this very comfortable and nice house. The house has his own nice character with an amazing seaview from the terrace. The house is fine decorated and there was plenty of room for five people.
Every evening we enjoyed the sunset.
The owner N was very helpfull.

"Our stay in Asilah was absolutely wonderful. The house was a great location over looking the water, which was great for sunsets. There was a beautiful terrace where we were about to sit and enjoy the amazing weather. Fatima, the housekeeper, was great and made us delicious dinners and breakfast everyday. Also the owner, Nihal, answered all our questions before coming and even helped our friends find another house that was near by our house. She also arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport and bring us back. The house had so much character and there was plenty of room. If we could have stayed longer we would have. I would highly recommend this house."

"A GREAT HOUSE We spent four days in this lovely part of the world. There is a lot to see and do in the vicinity but, if you feel like relaxing, the nicest part of the stay was hanging out by the house and sea. The house itself is very nice but the real treat is the location – perched on the side of the sea, and well maintained top of the house overviewing the sea (pictures on the website do justice). The town of Assilah is wonderful and swimming in one of the many hidden spots along the shore is a great change. The owner and her help are charming and very helpful and full of information on what to do, where to eat etc. This is highly recommended."

"Overall it was a very rewarding experience. Very good communication with owner. Very well located house inside the medina with stunning sea view. Lot´s of charm. Not for those looking for brand new soulless houses. The colourful kitchen had all the amenities we needed. Spacious living room and chill out area, with tv and dvd (we didn´t use) The terrasse was my favourite part of the house. The price included cleaning and cooking. Shedia is an excellent cook and she will clean the house everyday. Very good spot for families, as there are 3 master bedrooms. We just loved it. Definitely recommended."

Dar Malak is a lovely home for a quiet seaside escape. The location is fabulous - just a few meters from the seas with fantastic views from the upstairs salon and terraces. The home itself is comfortably furnished, and it was a very pleasant surprise to find the kitchen so well stocked with all the utensils and equipment you might find in your own kitchen (as well as store cupboard basics like flour, oil, and spices). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dar Malak!
By car: public parking - guarded 24h - is a 7 minute walk. The fare is 2 euros per 24 hours. You can access within 200m of the house by car just to unload the car. As the town is pedestrian, the car must then be taken back to the parking. Although the sea is directly opposite the house, beach access is at the entrance to the city, 500 meters walk. Then you have access to 30kms of beautiful beaches. For maximum benefit of your stay, a car is recommended (but not mandatory). CLOSEST AIRPORT : Tangers Boukhalef : 25kms ASSILAH is also accessible by train. (Text automatically translated) several good restaurants and cafes nearby. Les tarifs de base (Septembre - Mai) affichées s'entendent pour un maximum de 4 personnes, enfant inclus. Tout dépassement de 4 personne est sujet à l'accord des propriétaires moyennant un supplément de 10 euros/personne/jour. Les tarifs sont dégressif en fonction de la durée (+1 mois). Caution demandée et retenue par Homelidays/Homeaway, et sera rendue par eux directement à la fin de la location. CONDITIONS d'ANNULATION : En cas de désistement du locataire : - A plus de 90 jours avant la prise d’effet de la location, le locataire sera remboursé de la totalité des arrhes versées. - Entre 90 et 60 jours avant la prise d’effet de la location, le locataire sera remboursé de la moitie des arrhes versées. - Entre 60 et 30 jours avant la prise d’effet de la location l'acompte versé sera retenu dans sa totalité. - À moins 30 jours avant la prise d'effet de la location, le locataire devra verser le solde restant dû*. *Dans tous les cas, en cas d’annulation, le bailleur se forcera de remplacer le locataire défaillant par un autre client, aux mêmes dates.
