Located on the shores of Linekin Bay is the cottage you have been searching for. It's a romantic cottage built for two with breathtaking views of the natural beauty that surrounds it. The views from your cottage include Barrett's Park, Lobster Cove, Linekin Bay and world famous Cabbage Island. Watch the bright red sunrises and see how the sky changes to shades of light pinks and blues as the dawn comes forth. It's a spectacular sight that will remain with you forever. Step out onto your porch and experience the smell of the fresh morning salt air. Relax with your morning coffee made with a Keurig coffee pot so bring your K cups, otherwise we have a Mr. Coffee. The cottage has a microwave, full sized refrigerator, cable T.V. with built in DVD, and Broadband internet. The bathroom has hot and cold water with a shower.
There is a dock for your kayak or boat or use our new kayaks included in your rental. For larger boats we have a mooring with 7' of water at low tide.
You can cook your own Maine lobster and steamers over a wood fire in our outdoor fireplace, pots and pans provided or walk down the street and have your shore dinner prepared by one of the local restaurants. Be sure to save room for some delicious Smore's roasting your marshmallow's over the open fire.
The town center is a 5 minute walk where there is unlimited shopping and local seafood restaurants, boats are moored and at dockside in the harbor.
From the harbor you can catch a whale watching boat, deep sea fishing boat, take a sail on the Eastwind with Captain and author Herb Smith, or just a nice cruise around the harbor and surrounding islands and watch the seals, puffins and whales in their natural habitat.
This is a Maine vacation at its best and one that will call you back to the unique and beautiful shores of Boothbay Harbor. In September and October view the changing of the leaves and the reflections in the water...
Transportation is available from the Portland International Jetport or the Concord Coach bus stop in Wiscasset.
We are located just off the Maine Island Trail between the Sheepscot and Damariscotta Rivers. Paddle right up to our dock for a few nights rest and the exploration of Boothbay Harbor on foot and approximately 5 miles north of Damariscove Island. The cottage is adequate for two people only. No extra overnight guests allowed. This is a non-smoking and no pet property.
Just a short drive from the city to enjoy the quietness of the nature that surrounds you! Don't wait ...if you have a week in mind you can hold a reservation for a small fee ! PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
We live on the property and try our upmost please our guests.
Nancy Morris purchased this cottage in 1995
It is quiet and peaceful...a place where birds sing at daylight, ever changing tides, lobstermen at work hauling their traps, beautiful sunrises and hardly a cloud in the sky except when the fog rolls in...an awesome sight !
The cottage is located on the edge of town in a quiet, peaceful area. Stay awhile and steal away to barefoot days and cool nights. Here in Boothbay Harbor you can linger, let go and let these shores restore your spirit....just when you need it most. It's R & R at its best ! It's beautiful !
We visited at the end of the season. It was beautiful, but a little too cool for much boating. The cabin is wonderful, right down by the water with fabulous views. Comfortable bed, minimal cooking facilities, but fine for breakfast and lunch. Easy walk to several excellent restaurants and even downtown. Mac and Nan are excellent hosts, very friendly, and always available to provide recommendations.
This cottage is the best of both worlds. Right on the water with complimentary canoe and kayaks along with walkability to beautify Boothbay Harbor. We took a fishing excursion and grilled striper one evening. And enjoyed walking to the nearby lobster co-op for soft shell lobsters and great live music. Cottage is nicely appointed, very clean and also quite small -- thus the "tiny house" reference. The owners are a charming couple who are very friendly and helpful.
We had a great time at this cottage in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. I will always remember this vacation fondly. We live in Texas, so it's a fantastic place to escape the summer heat. The cottage is quite small but functional. Don't expect hotel amenities. You're right at water's edge for a gorgeous view, and there are even two kayaks at your disposal, so check that out. The town of Boothbay Harbor is a short walk across a footbridge, so you can leave the car parked if you like. The town center is a bit touristy, but that means there are plenty of restaurants to consider. We were pleased to find a couple of nice wharf restaurants on our side of the bay that served fresh lobsters and seafood, either eat in or take home.
There are plenty of commercial boat rides that depart from the city. Pick one or two and enjoy. If you have a little time to sit on the porch and talk, Nan and Mac are delightful hosts and conversationalists. They made sure we had what we needed, including local information. One day we bought some fresh-cooked take-home lobsters from the wharf. We disassembled them at their picnic table while Nan gave us a refresher on the simplest way to get the most amount of meat.
There are lots of good hiking trails within short driving distances. All in all, a great vacation and stunning locale.
We enjoyed many aspects of our stay in this cottage. The location is excellent, being within walking distance of the harbor area while still being off the main road in a quiet cove. The cottage itself is tastefully decorated and comfortable. We liked being able to keep and prepare meals for ourselves using the kitchenette and grill. We enjoyed an afternoon cruise from the harbor, kayaking from the private dock, a visit to the Boothbay Railway village, and hiking the trails in a number of nature preserves. The owners are pleasant, and made conversation as we crossed paths at various points, offering suggestions for dining and activities in the area. We appreciated that it did not require a full-week booking, as most other accommodations in the area are prone to do. It is worth mentioning that the property is quite steeply pitched, and although we did not have any trouble getting to and from the cottage, folks unsteady on their feet should be warned of this fact. Because we were arriving late from our wedding, we chose to have linens provided for an extra cost. You can save that money by providing your own linens. Overall we enjoyed our experience thoroughly and highly recommend this cottage
An especially enjoyable experience. Cottage offered a spectacular view. Extremely clean and well appointed. Wonderful waterfront setting. Quiet. Very well suited for two people. Everything we hoped for. Host and hostess, Mac and Nancy, were gracious in every way. Be assured you will be more than pleased with this rental. If relaxation is your goal, you will find it here. This tiny cottage is right on edge of Linekin Bay, a quiet neighborhood in Boothbay Harbor. A quick walk to town makes it the perfect spot to base out of for a variety of local day trips, none of which required using our car, something that for us was important given that we both drive ridiculous amounts. For us "day tripping" included kayaking off the cottage dock when the tide was up, going out to Monhegan Island and just walking around. The place is spotless, the owners incredibly pleasant to work with and, though very small, it is extremely well set up for an easy stay. The kitchen is set up with a good working hotplate and microwave oven allowing for reasonably simple meal preparation. We were there for four nights, mostly wanting to get away from the normal every day stuff, so being able to walk everywhere, go out to eat and have fun sightseeing from such a sweet spot was a pleasure. It is a bright, cheerful, welcoming place to be in. This is a good thing when it's lovely out but was great the one rainy, windy day that was not inspiring for outdoor adventure. Again, though tiny, it is a lovely place to stay.
