About Pam and John Stanford
Pam and I are FSU graduates with a whole family of FSU graduates. We are world travelers and have properties in Costa Rica, Yellowstone, and Satellite Beach. The Pecan Plantation is our third VRBO property.

Why Pam and John Stanford chose Monticello
We chose this property because its unique qualities: close to Tallahassee, great soil, quiet, safe, and serene, pecans, great biking, close to beaches, beautiful stars, sunrises and sunsets, no traffic, no stop lights. This is close to being the best rural location in the USA. Check out our Top of the World Yellowstone VRBO #239561 and Pineapple Plantation (Satellite Beach) #458644.

Fabulous for family
We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Pecan Plantation!
Doc & Pam are awesome hosts who are close by if you need them, but leave items (like pepper and dish pods) on the porch without our even knowing they had come by! They are all about giving you total privacy.
The entire house is amazing for families! And our four-legged children had so much fun running and playing and investigating all the animals smells on the acreage!
Thank you both so much again for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
We are so blessed to have found you!
Such a beautiful place. Relax in the swing overlooking the lovely countryside. Very quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed our short stay among the pecan trees.
I almost hate to leave this review because I don’t want to many to hear about this gem so close to Tallahassee. Wonderful place to stay and amazing hosts!! We were in town for my son’s graduation from FSU, and wished we had more time to just enjoy this amazing property! Thank you Pam and John!
Better than we could of asked for! Lots of room and very clean and modern house and property. Owners extremely helpful and made sure we had what we needed from start to end. Will stay here again
Peaceful and Relaxing
My family really enjoyed our stay and Pam and John's sweet Monticello home over Thanksgiving week. The location is near a sweet quaint town and the property just slows you down, the peace and quiet, the beauty of the trees, the sunsets etc. We took a few trips into Thomasville which is great for shopping and restaurants and the drive to Tallahassee is 40 minutes so an easy drive to campus via I-10. John and Pam were excellent hosts, always available if we needed anything, John would come each day and build us a fire in the fire pit for each night. It was really enjoyable! We would return for sure!
We have the most wonderful guests choose our Pecan Plantation and it is our pleasure to make sure they receive the best hospitality possible. Yes, Tallahassee is a pleasant short drive from the Farm, so no need to deal with the noise and congestion now engulfing our capital.
Relaxing, private, clean vacation home
My family had a wonderful stay! The owners were great to work with and have worked hard to put extras into the house for their guests! Our dogs loved getting to run free on the property and had a great time.
The rolling hills around Monticello offer one of the most serene and pastoral settings in Florida. Road and mountain biking are excellent, along with hunting, birding, hiking, and farm exploring. Close to Florida State University.
