Excellent accommodation & hospitality!
The accommodation was fantastic. Very clean and had everything provided that you could possibly want. Christina and Erick were lovely and looked after us superbly., even picked us up from the motorway to show us the way! We would like to thank them very much for a wonderful experience. We will be coming back very soon. The village itself is charming too with 3 or 4 restaurants and bars within a few yards of the accommodation. Overall idyllic suroundings and fantastic people who tried very hard to understand us. I will be learning Italian for our next visit!
Thanks for the nice review. It was a pleasure to have you as guests. We tried to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible, as if you were at your home! We look forward to you next time. Thank you, see you soon.
Cristina - Erik

Fénis is located in the central valley, about fifteen kilometers from Aosta. The neighboring countries are Nus and Verrayes north, Chambave and Champdepraz east, south-east Champorcher, Cogne south-west and Saint-Marcel west. Fénis looking from the north side, the populated areas appear as a single agglomeration. It extends between 520 and 600 m high, particularly along the wooded slope Envers, and is dominated by Mount Saint-Julien. On the underside of this long "country" extend the meadows that cover the alluvial cone of the torrent of Clavalité. The wooded meadows, striated by murgères, are bounded below by the railway, motorway and the big motorway. Come off only by all the villages of Rovarey east, north of Crêtes and Tillier and Fagnan west, together with the church. Through the town of Chez-Sapin, in MISÉRÈGNE, it hits the modern structure of this center. Along the main road, in fact, they appear new homes, houses and a few shops. It seems that in the twentieth century, the development of the country in this direction is literally crystallized, so that today it is almost natural to wonder if there is still some old house. Nevertheless, the castle, the narrow streets of Chez-Sapin, Travers and MISÉRÈGNE and "devil's chapel", seem to want to remember that Fenis has an immense history and that behind the facades of the houses repainted and the gates of the villa gardens It hides the country that gave birth to the current landscape. Fénis is a common Envers, meaning that lies on the left bank of the Dora Baltea. The north-facing slope is particularly steep: the gap between Punta Chermontane (2 683 m) and the country of Rovarey - one far from 4 km as the crow flies - it is in fact of 2100 m. In Fénis area you can do different excursions in the City site you will find a list of excursions, and in the images the way forward. Clavalitè: From boats take the paved road that crosses the stream bed Clavalité and begins to climb with hairpin bends. Oltepassata the Arbussayes hut continue until Cerise (973 m) where you have to abandon the car. A walk will continue along the dirt road, after the Leffrey huts are reached the Lovignanaz buildings (1 162 m) and you enter a forest of conifers. The road continues to narrow turns, near the homes of Marqueron bend right, around a hilltop overlooking the Clavalité plan. A descent leads to the plateau (1 491 m). From here you can continue with no way obliged, there are many routes leading to different groups of existing huts in the valley, the lakes, the hills, the peaks. The valley of Clavalité, dominated by the pyramid of Mount Tersiva (3. 513 m) it seems that, in the past, has been part of an ancient mining area, as would suggest the remains of metalworking. The fauna that inhabits the high altitudes of Clavalité is primarily represented by two large ungulates symbol of our Alps: the chamois and ibex, housed mostly inside the two game reserves Dondena-Clavalité and Grand-Avert. Both of these animals live in herds of males and females separated. Ponton and Morgnetta: In town boats go along the paved road until Clavalité Arbussayes (altitude 985). It continues by following the signpost. 1 and 1b (for Chervaz, Margnettaz, Ponton). After about 45 minutes you reach the Chervaz (share in 1205), known for its historic past (here, in fact, formed the first band of partisans of the Aosta Valley: the Garibaldi Brigade, headed by Emile Lexert; further information on the period of the Resistance can be found in the work "Fénis, une communauté au fil de l'histoire" published by Musumeci). The tour then continues along an easy path, but quite steep which leads to a bifurcation: To Ponton (total time h 3) Turn left following a flat course. After about 20 minutes of walking you can see the ruins dating back to an ancient foundry active in past centuries. Here occurred the first casting of ferrous materials extracted from the valley of Ponton. Next to these ruins is a source of water used in the past for washing of mining equipment. Continuing the journey, after a few meters you turn right again penetrating into dense woods. In this section we can still see some traces of ancient charcoal kilns. After crossing the forest, after about an hour of walking, you reach Alpe Ponton. For Morgnetta (total time 30 h 2.) At the junction continue along the Morgnetta 1b following the trail sign. This resort is located at the foot of the characteristic Bec Corbo and is known for its historical past linked to the partisan struggles. By Morgnetta you may decide to go back along the path that leads 1b to Cerise.
