My name is Richard Norwood and I built my first vacation rental in Pacific Beach on Tourmaline St., ten years ago. I recently decided to expand on our success and provide a North County Beach Property for our clients. I have spent over two months going over every detail and I am excited to say that I am very pleased with the product and I am excited to share it with the upcoming guests. After I graduated from UCLA, I was a high school teacher and would eventually like to go back into teaching, however, Real Estate has always paid the bills. I also own an operate an outdoor adventure company, sending clients all over the world. I am an avid fisherman and love my two dogs Sadie and Mia.
Please don't hesitate to ask about the many local experiences we can offer our clients.
ex. Bonfire at the beach, Catered Dinner at the Beach, Fishing Trips, kayaking, San Diego Tours and much more!
Richard Norwood purchased this townhome in 1986
This property is amazing. The 180 degree ocean view and the proximity to the beach makes for one of the best beach rentals available in this area, as well as the ocean view and wonderful sunsets.
Walking distance to great restaurants and only 50ft to Beacon's Beach. Enjoy nightly sunsets and a 180 degree ocean view from your living room!
Richard's place in Encinitas provided the perfect beach vacation for our family. The view of the ocean made for stunning sunsets and walking across the street to the beach made the trip so easy - even with small children. The home is nicely furnished and clean.
We cannot say enough good things about our stay in this very clean, very nice ocean front beach home. The owner understands the fundamentals of rental management, which is always a question when staying somewhere for the first time. Richard has pride in ownership and it shows in every detail. The space itself is large and functional with plenty of room for our family of 4, the walk down the path to the beach is simple. The area is one of the quieter beach towns from our experience, with enough neighborhood eateries and shops just a short walk to PCH. One day, my husband and I sat on the balcony the entire day! We enjoyed our stay very much and can't wait to return for another visit.
Thank you Richard for taking such great care of us!
We had a great week, walking to Pannikin and Little Moore for breakfast, enjoyed walking on the beach and the house boogie boards and beach chairs. Perfect for our family of 4. Definitely recommend Neptune's Nest and will stay there again if we return to North County!
Very clean. Great view of the ocean. Friendly staff. Across the street from a beautiful beach with great waves. Walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants.
Encinitas is an amazing beach community. We ate breakfast on the deck overlooking the beach each morning after walking to Coffee Coffee, a cute coffee shop around the corner. There are also amazing fish tacos located nearby. The beach house is centrally located so we didn't spend more than 30 minutes driving to attractions. The only caution would be the stairs are steep up to door. Also as noted in other comments there is lots of train noise. We plan to stay here again.
My kids and I really enjoyed our stay in Leucadia/Encinitas. The beach rental met our needs, had a great ocean view and was in the perfect spot to walk down to the sand..often! Can't beat the location, walk-able to the sand, shops and great places to eat! I know others mentioned the train noise, but really, with such an amazing location and knowing that the train runs up and down the SD coast line, it's just part of the experience of staying that close to the ocean. The rental was clean, provided what we needed and had very comfortable, spacious living spaces. We hope to return soon!
This is our second stay at this wonderful property in Encinitas. We love the spaciousness of the rooms! The living area is perfect. This time we were on the 2nd floor and the views were great. It's great having two bathrooms. The parking is easy with 2 spots. Everything you might need is there. We'll be back.

Historic Coast Highway also just blocks away, is home to trendy restaurants, chic boutiques and art studios - great for walking around in the sunshine. The Old Coast Highway continues south through Old Encinitas, through the heart of our lost-in-time 'old downtown' - right past Swami's Beach. Legoland is only a 10 min drive (about 6 miles) and we are about a 30 min drive to Sea World and the San Diego International Airport. The San Diego Botanical Gardens are 2.5 miles away and is a very beautiful place to visit.
Forever immortalized in the Beach Boys 1963 hit song Surfin USA, Swami's is still a 'surfer's heaven' where you can watch the greatest surfers in the world practice their skills every day.
