What a lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We liked the description of the cottage, and the photos all looked good, but to be honest they just didnt do the place the justice it deserves. It was clean and cosy, with a rustic feel to the furnishings which felt right. There is a garden to the side, a larger garden in front then beyond the stone wall a large open space big enough for a small football pitch. All this is securely fenced, allowing any dogs freedom to roam without fear of them wandering. Then there is more land beyond that which is also fenced. We needed a place that allowed dogs, and Phoenix went the extra mile to make him as welcome as they made us. The cottage is far enough of the beaten track to feel rural, but there are supermarkets within a ten minute drive. We were in easy driving distance of everything we wanted to do, but also felt comfortable staying home and enjoying the surroundings. It also has the benefit of easy off road parking.

I look forward to my next visit in the near future.

We loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. The cottage itself was extraordinary, with its unique history, roaring fireplace and two foot wall thick ceilings. The cottage is well located, private and quiet, and yet just a short walk to the village, pub and restaurant. The kitchen is modern and well stocked, and Kevin supplied us with whatever we needed. Kevin could also not be more helpful in terms of acquainting is with the area and planning our visits.

We look forward to visiting again soon.

Great stay 5*

  • 5 of 5

Great property for dogs my two labradoodles absolutely loved it running around in the gardens. The actual cottage is lovely clean and tidy. All the mod cons log burning stove and nice bedrooms modern bathroom. Kevin mAde us feel very welcome and was helpful in recommending where to go. The beaches around here are absolutely beautiful and many are still dog friendly just not the main ones in high season. A great stay looking forward to returning as are our dogs. Don't hesitate to book if you want somewhere central but in its own space. Games room is greAt for kids.

Stunning cottage in beautiful extensive grounds

  • 5 of 5

Phoenix cottage is truly the rural idyll. Set in beautifully maintained, extensive grounds, the accommodation was spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Lots of fine and wet weather activities to keep everyone amused at base (snooker table was a hit) and plenty of fun to be had for our three dogs running around. Handy for many parts of Cornwall - we went north as far as Padstow and south to Lands End with many places visited in between. There are good facilities in the local village and Camborne. Karen and Kevin were great hosts and loved the pasties and the eggs. We would recommend this property and a Sunday changeover made travelling so much easier.

Simply the best

  • 5 of 5

To quote Tina Turner it was "simply the best

better than all the rest " and we have stayed in so so many dog friendly cottages, and if you don't have a canine chum it is superb too! 6 acres of YOUR territory for the holiday Kevin and Karen will be at your command if required but invisible if not. Such a cosy cottage so much to explore such a great find we will return it's too good to be true.

a perfect place with perfect hosts

  • 5 of 5

The cottage exceeded all our expectations. It was very comfortable, well equipped, full of charm and character. The massive garden provided lots of space and tranquility and even its own 'half tamed' fox. Welcoming owners were always very helpful to offer advice. We all loved it.
