3 bedrooms, 2 baths on two floors. Deck off a fully-equipped kitchen. Mudroom and attached garage. Cable TV, washer & dryer, dishwasher, wine fridge, wifi. Outdoor shower for after-beach clean up. About John Pitts

The house is owned by my three sisters and me, but I am the principal contact on VRBO. I am a book publishing professional living in New York City. My sisters live in Providence, Boston and Woodstock, VT. We grew up in Providence and summered in Little Compton. We all return to Little Compton year-round, especially in the summer. It's truly a rarity in the northeast: unspoiled, unaffected, easy going living in a farming/summer community surrounded by water.

John Pitts purchased this house in 1987

Why John Pitts chose Rhode Island Coastal

Surrounded by stone walls, woods and pasture, the house is serene and private. Depending on the time of year, the property is visited by deer, coyote, fox, rabbits, skunks, raccoons, wild turkey, all sorts of songbirds, hawks, falcons, owls, and hummingbirds. Close to the town Commons and beaches.

What makes this house unique

Peace, tranquility, privacy, rural ease and simplicity, glorious climate, natural beauty, flora and fauna, history.

great house!

We used this property for a week to house grown children with their youngsters. The house is comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped, and located on a quiet cul de sac. Everyone loved it.

October in Little Compton

My family and I were fortunate to spend time at this comfortable, lovely home. From the moment you enter the spacious and well supplied kitchen, you know that you will enjoy this home. The bedroom and full bathroom on the first floor are very convenient. Then there are two more very spacious bedrooms and another full bath on the second floor. The owners have made sure to include any and all items that you might need. The amenities are all there, as well, but the comfort and coziness of the home stands out the most! We had wonderful walks around the charming neighborhood and you are conveniently close to the Commons, the center of Little Compton. However, you probably will want to stay at this home and enjoy the deck and spacious backyard.

The Owners were accommodating, helpful and very responsive.

This is a Home to enjoy all the seasons in Little Compton!

Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time vacationing in Little Compton. The description of this property as an idyllic country home surrounded by pasture and woods is perfect. We felt as if we truly “got away” and relaxed in this comfortable clean home.

My kids (7 and 4) rode their bikes on the cul-de-sac while we prepared meals or read. The area has terrific farm stands and the property’s kitchen is well stocked with good knives and less common cooking tools found in summer rentals such as a salad spinner and an egg poacher pan.

The owner was thoughtful and friendly in e-mailing back road directions and a list of places of interest in Little Compton and the surrounding area. He was available for any questions before or during our stay. I would highly recommend this home!
