Great cabin located 2 miles north of Forks on the world famous Sol Duc River. This very comfortable, all cedar cabin, has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 1 bathroom with a shower/tub combination, Direct TV, wireless internet, is fully furnished and has a washer and dryer. We're close to the Olympic National Park's greatest attractions; the Hoh Rain Forest and it's ancient, moss covered trees, the numerous ocean beaches (2nd Beach is our favorite), Sol Duc Hot Springs, and the rugged Northwest Coast area along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Right here on the river, eagles soar overhead, otters play, and fish migrate home. It's the same river where Edward of 'Twilight' fame lives and hunts with his family.

We definitely booked the perfect cabin!!!
Me and my buddies booked the cabin for our little fishing getaway. I've booked similar cabins before but this one bags it! The owner provides more than the basics. I'm a hardcore coffee drinker and I was amazed that there is coffee already in the pantry. Not just salt and pepper but an entire spice rack. The cabin itself was very clean. And guess what, nobody wants to sleep in the bedroom coz the couch was super comfy! It rained the whole time when we were there and the Steelhead fishing sucked...we were skunked...that's why it's called fishing and not catching. If the weather cooperated we should have had wonderful fishing days. We met very nice people around town. Special shout out to "Uncle Tom" the hatchery guy. He hooked us up with an awesome guide for our possible future trips. We loved this cozy cabin so much and we will be definitely repeat customers.
Thank you for your nice review! I'm glad you want to come back and hope to meet you next time!
This is indeed a cozy cedar cottage on the banks of the Sol Duc River just a couple of miles north of the town of Forks, WA. It is pleasantly furnished and well-equipped. The description on the VRBO website is accurate.
We are Canadians, and this was our first trip to the Olympic Peninsula.
During the week that we stayed in this centrally located cottage, we made day trips to:
• The splendid Makah Museum and Cultural Centre at Neah Bay and Cape Flattery, the most northwesterly point in the lower 48 states, both of which are on the Makah Tribal Reservation, accessible via a scenic byway that skirts the Juan de Fuca Strait;
• The Hoh Rainforest in the Olympic National Park, which, with the sunshine streaming through the huge, moss-draped trees, is a truly magical place; and
• La Push, a Quileute village, where we chatted with a tribal elder and long-time fisherman at the peaceful marina, hiked First Beach and Rialto Beach and then enjoyed fresh caught wild salmon at the River’s Edge Restaurant.
During our stay, I had an unfortunate cycling accident and was briefly hospitalized at the Forks Community Hospital.
What can I possibly say to adequately describe the “responsiveness” of the owners, JoAnn and Randy Allen? JoAnn accompanied my wife to the hospital and stayed with her until she was sure that I would be all right. Randy and JoAnn checked on us regularly during the next couple of days, assuring us that they would help us in any way they could. On the day of our departure, Randy took off time from work to load our vehicle.
In addition to the incredible response of JoAnn and Randy, we were impressed by the competence of the off-duty firefighters and the professionalism and compassion of the EMS staff, doctors, nurses and technicians at the Forks Community Hospital. We were humbled by the basic decency of ordinary Americans and reminded that we are all in this business of “life” together.
Thank you for your kind words about us and the many people who helped you after your accident. Forks is full of friendly, helpful and caring people. Our best wishes to you for a speedy recovery!
This cabin is nicely arranged and has everything you might need or want. Super clean. It is centrally located for visiting all the sights in the area. We would definitely rent again. Thanks so much!
Our only negative: The kitchen and living areas are very dark. More and/or different lighting would be so helpful.
Was a great place in a great location.
Cute cabin by river
This cute cabin has absolutely everything you could need in a rental. It is in a quiet and pretty location, and provides a great central location for exploring the west coast of the Olympic peninsula. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. A really wonderful experience.
Nice little cabin
Clean with all the necessities. Older, kinda rustic cottage feel. Bedrooms are a little small, especially if you need both bedrooms and have to keep luggage in the bedroom that you sleep in. Good location for the west side of Olympic National Park, the beaches and a day trip to the Neah Bay/Cape Flattery area. Close to Forks that has a handful of nice, small town restaurants and a good grocery store.
A great home base for visiting the major attractions of Olympic National Park or fishing the many fresh water rivers in the area. We're close to Hoh Rain Forest, ocean beaches, Lake Crescent, Hurricane Ridge, and Sol Duc Hot Springs. Cape Flattery, Shi Shi Beach and the Northwest Coast are also close by.
