Beautiful, recently updated 1 Bedroom/1 Bath apartment that is part of a larger home, with a private staircase entrance. This lovely retreat is peaceful and relaxed, with wood floors, lots of light and comfortable touches throughout.
Queen bedroom with ample space and lighting, queen comfortable sleeper bed in sofa. Luxury linens and towels provided. If there is a 5th guest (best suited for a child), we will provide a cot with bedding.
The kitchen is well-stocked for all of your food preparation needs. There is a large microwave, large toaster oven, and a full-size fridge. It features a convenient drawer-style dishwasher. Also for cooking there is an outdoor grill, a hot plate and plug-in griddle for pancakes and the like. The kitchen has ample counter space and a deep sink, and overhead there is a skylight.
The bathroom has ornate tilework, a glass bowl sink and fun decorative touches. The stacked washer/dryer is available for your use.
Relax on the balcony, and enjoy the view of downtown Carpinteria, complete with many palm trees.
Parking is available for one car behind the apartment, and there is plenty of street parking for any other vehicles.
Since this apartment is attached to our home, this is NOT the right space for guests looking to come and party. The parking space is located right below one of our bedrooms. Check in the first night is no later than 11:00 pm. During any subsequent nights, if you think you will arrive back at the apartment after 12:30 am, we ask that you park on the street (very safe), not in the assigned spot, to preserve the sleep for our family members. 'Matt and Toby were wonderful hosts! Their 'downtown charmer' was perfect for my mini vacation. I enjoyed being close to town with easy access to restaurants and shops! Also their place was within walking distance to the beach. The rental is very comfortable and has nice amenities such as a small kitchen, great balcony, and a separate bedroom from the living area. We have stayed at this lovely Carpinteria apartment many times. It is comfortable, homey, and peaceful. The decor is beautiful, and I appreciate the small touches, like the glass bowl sink and the crown molding. The whole place has so much light! The ocean breeze comes in through the balcony door, and it is wonderful. The kitchen has ample space for preparing meals. The queen bed is very comfortable. The owners, Matt and Toby, are so great to work with. We will certainly be back!
This apartment is attached to the owner's home. As such we felt the need to try to be quiet and had less "sound" privacy. But the apartment itself is very nice. Everything seems brand new and very clean.
Note there is no cooktop/oven, although there is a large toaster oven and microwave.(Kids wanted to make pancakes - had to "settle" for toaster waffles!)
We were concerned that being on 8th street would feel far from beach but it is still an easy walk. We love this town!
This was a very clean, newly renovated, quality spot for a single or couple looking for an affordable spot in walking distance to the beach in Carp. Really nice 3+ block walk down Linden to the beach. Downtown Carp is a gem; quiet, clean and really friendly. Hey only a block or so to the train... ride up to Carp for the weekend. Great Escape.

What a nice place near the beach and the main part of town. The owners were a great help in getting settled in and gave us great advice re local places and things to do and see. We plan on coming back next year and will try staying here if the dates work out.

Your place has been a blessing to our family! It was a perfect way to celebrate end of school for our elementary aged kids and kick off summer break. We created amazing memories as a family and the kids have made us promise to come back again! Beautiful, well appointed, guest home with all the necessary items you would need for a short or extended getaway! Central to the quaint downtown shops, eateries, and of course walking distance to the beach! This was our first visit to Carpinteria and our kids had a blast and loved seeing all that the town had to offer. Location was perfect for our walks and scooter rides through town and down to the beach. We are already planning when we can return. Thank you for opening up your home and the special touches during our stay that made it all the more special! See you again soon!
We had a great winter beach retreat over the New Years holiday. The apartment is clean and beautifully decorated. I was able to pack light since there is washer/dryer in the unit. I loved that!! The kitchen doesn't have a conventional stove top, but the owners have done a good job providing supplemental equipment so you can still cook anything you need. (I like to cook so I planned ahead and brought my crock pot).
The apartment is located within walking distance to grocery, coffee, restaurants and shops. We walked to the beach for sunsets and it was magical.
The apartment is attached to the owner's home, so the close quarters allowed us to hear each other's footsteps and such, but it is not a deal breaker. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you Matt and Toby, your place is a little piece of heaven.
