Camden Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

Bungalow; 3 Bedrooms; 1 Bath; Sleeps 5

This bungalow is a colorful cottage that is bright, cheery, and comfortably furnished. It is located on a side street in a very friendly neighborhood with similar architecture. The cottage is a vintage Sears & Roebuck bungalow built in the 1930's with original features and has an updated kitchen and conveniences to make your stay comfortable and easy. An enclosed porch on the front of the house provides additional living space for reading a book, playing games, or just relaxing. The private back deck provides a wonderful space for entertaining, grilling, or just enjoying a quiet early-morning coffee, afternoon gathering, or evening sunset. The back yard is fenced in so your dog can walk in and out of the house and off the deck while still being safe and enclosed.

This friendly neighborhood is located within an easy walk (2½ blocks) to downtown shops, restaurants, harbor, library, grocery store, post office, beach, village green, and much more. The village neighborhood area is a great place to walk, run, or bike. A YMCA is located just half a mile from the house. There are numerous areas to hike, and lakes and the ocean are very close by. Additional activities for both adults and children are also close by.

About Alleson Bixler

I grew up in Camden and moved back to the area just after college and have lived, played, and worked here ever since. I love this area and love the idea of sharing it with others!

Alleson Bixler purchased this bungalow in 2014

Why Alleson Bixler chose Camden

I have loved this quiet little neighborhood just minutes from the bustle of downtown Camden for as long as I've been here (i.e. my whole life!). The quaint bungalow cottages on this street, built back in the 30's when Camden was a mill town, hold such a rich history. I feel lucky to have this lovely, quiet place to offer folks who want to explore all there is to see in this beautiful part of Maine.

What makes this bungalow unique

This bungalow cottage is located very close to downtown, the harbor, and neighborhood park, and is an easy walk to all Camden has to offer. You'll have a sense of being 'home' on your vacation!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This cute little house served us as a great home-base to explore the area. Alleson was a great host, she was extremely helpful with all the questions we had. The interior of the house is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Having rented many houses throughout the years, this was probably the cleanest, we ever saw. We enjoyed the porch and the fireplace in the evenings. Athough the house is located on a very quiet street, everything in Camden is walking distance which we loved. The house has a patio and a little garden in the back where you can sit and enjoy the afternoon sun. We highly recommend this place for couples or small families.

Amazing house

  • 5 of 5

Perfect little house. We stayed for 5 weeks and loved it. Very clean & comfortable. Kitchen stocked with everything you need. Beautifully maintained Sears Bungalow. Loved the front porch and the back deck. Fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. Excellent quiet street with lovely neighbors. Just a few blocks to beautiful Camden harbor and downtown with restaurants and shops.

The Perfect Craftsman in Camden

  • 5 of 5

If I could I would want to own this sweet bungalow just as it is. It is perfect for a small family and even more perfect if that family has a dog. It was probably the cleanest and most well equipped rental we have had to date. The newly fenced yard is now officially 'Terrier Proof', as my 2 christened it so. The location is a walk to downtown Camden where you can enjoy a variety of restaurants, Boynton McKay is a must and very unique shops. (don't forget the Heavenly Threads Thrift shop!) My husband and I have been on quite a few VRBO excursions but I will say that the effort to make our stay enjoyable by the owner was more than I could have ever anticipated. I know where we will be staying on our next trip to Camden Maine!

Most Adorable Bungalow Ever!!

  • 5 of 5

This adorable bungalow is by far the cleanest, best equipped, most well-stocked, and most cleverly decorated/furnished rental we have ever experienced!! I know that's a lot of adjectives, but Alleson hasn't missed a thing in providing the perfect setting for a comfortable, relaxing and fun vacation. We loved the house and our Goldenddoodle loved the fenced-in yard and deck in the back of the house. The house is in a lovely neighborhood and great location for a pleasant 10 minute walk to the village/harbor of Camden and enjoying the cute shops and great restaurants there. It was so nice to walk to town for breakfast, shopping or dinner with no worries about finding a parking place! We also enjoyed day trips to Bar Harbor/Acadia, Belfast, Rockland, and Boothbay Harbor and a late afternoon stop at the Cellar Door Winery near Lincolnville followed by a lovely French dinner at the Youngtown Inn. Music in the park on the Fourth of July and watching the fireworks from the balcony at Atlantica were also a treat. We hope to be back for another visit soon. Thanks, Alleson!!

Cutest Cottage! Great Location! Loved Camden! Stay Here!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Camden and in this cute cottage! We are so glad we chose to stay here. Loved the location, the neighborhood and Alleson was very helpful! She gave us a list of her recommendations for dining, grocery stores and even put us in contact with someone who offered private boat tours. The house had everything we needed, Alleson thought of everything. The kitchen was well equipped for any feast, even a large lobster pot which we used one night. We loved the master bedroom, leaving the windows open and the wind and trees lulling us to sleep each night. My favorite room was the solarium. We would go out there and read, work on our computers or just relax. We hiked Ocean View Point, drove up to Mount Battie, visited Belfast, Bar Harbor, Rockland, Rockport, etc. So much to see, so little time. We stayed for 6 nights wished we had more time to enjoy the home. Thanks again Alleson! We hope to be back soon!

Just Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

This adorable bungalow was everything we expected and more. It was our first time to Camden, ME and we really enjoyed the cute town along with its wonderful restaurants (many of which were recommended to us by the owner Alleson - Long Grain, Francine Bistro, Fresh + Shepherd's Pie and Salt Water Farm in nearby Rockport). We also enjoyed staying in such a cute and homey bungalow - it seemed as though Alleson thought of everything! A tissue box or trash can right where we needed it, plenty of fans to keep us cool at night, and stocked with just about everything we could have wanted (napkins, paper plates and plastic forks for our picnic, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, etc.). This was the most well-stocked rental we've ever stayed in, and it was very much appreciated! Thanks for everything.

Car: necessary

There are excellent art galleries in Camden, Rockland and throughout the Midcoast area as well as lots of antiquing. In the winter there is a local downhill ski area with cross-country skiing trails.
