Stanford summer camp

Great location and property. Visited property with my sister and our four kiddos. House is family friendly and has several reading areas. We enjoyed our stay and management was very responsive. Located close to Stanford. Five minute drive or 20-30 minute walk.

wonderful inviting old-world home on edge of Stanford campus

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely wonderful house and garden in a charming Palo Alto neighborhood. The owners are as lovely as the place. They have created a magical home in a beautiful French country style that is welcoming, comfortable and equipped with everything you might want as well as things you might not have dreamed up but find yourself enjoying immensely. Amenities range from enveloping beds with down comforters to snuggle in, a grand piano and fireplace, beautiful furniture, bikes to use for commuting to campus, a magical garden that brings daily visual and aromatic pleasure in the spring, subtle details like well placed sky-lights, reading nooks surrounded by books and equipped with beautiful pillows, and pull down screens for when you open the windows. We spent three months here and loved every minute. It would be a joy to return.

We had a wonderful stay. The home was beautiful, well equipped and well located. The beds were the most comfortable we have slept in in years. This charming home was both elegant and cozy at the same time.

The process of making the reservation was both personal and very professional. The home is beautiful, and is located on a lovely, quiet street near Stanford University. It was the perfect spot for our group, and they found it to be restful and luxurious.

What a wonderful home and a delightful place to enjoy two full weeks in Palo Alto! Every moment was a treat in this house and garden. There is a warmth and tranquility that embodies the entire property. In addition, the beds are extremely comfortable, the house and facilities are immaculate, and every need was anticipated either by available access or informative details left by the owners in a very comprehensive manual. We absolutely loved staying here and felt as though we had won the lottery. The added bonus too is that the owners could not be nicer or more genuine! You will be thankful and thrilled to spend time here if you are so lucky!

Accommodating and Classy Affair

  • 5 of 5

Traveling to Palo Alto for a funeral in early January, our family had to find last minute accommodations. Wenda and James were not only helpful in expediting the paperwork, but also increasingly welcoming and sympathetic, as our stay turned out to be more complicated than expected. To begin with, our party mostly consisted of my toddler and disabled mother, as well as a couple of other family members who left after a few days. The house was very accommodating to my disabled mother, who was indeed comfortable on the first floor (there were three steps up to the front door, but along the driveway through the side door, there are no steps). The TV room, as well as upstairs bedrooms, were suitable and fun for my two year old.

Upon our arrival, Wenda and James welcomed us into their property, taking the time to share information on where everything was located, how things worked, and were sincerely invested in our comfort and experience during the stay. Considering our business in Palo Alto, our spirits were definitely lifted by the knowledge that we were staying with genuinely caring and gracious people.

The house itself is wonderfully designed, with beautiful craftsmanship and cutting edge amenities. I won't get started describing all of the top-notch features, but will say that all possible needs were met, which for us (one disabled person + toddler), was a tall order. And with all the bright skylights, walls and walls of wonderful books, a glorious piano as a centerpiece, several rooms with comfortable seating, a gourmet kitchen, and just a lively, sophisticated energy throughout, everybody agreed that this was the perfect setting for our particular visit.

Yet, as magnificent as the house was, it was the owners who were so classy, providing us the time, space and privacy needed to create a memorable experience. They were even happy to allow us to have other third party family members join us for meals and visits at their house, which turned out to be sizable gatherings at times. Thank you, Wenda and James! We couldn't have gotten through this very significant milestone so smoothly and pleasantly without you!

For anybody who is on the fence about this property, do not hesitate any longer! it's wonderfully eclectic and versatile for any affair, not just those with family business.
