Why Ted Mizzi chose Ix-Xewkija
This is an early 17th century farmhouse, one of the oldest in the village of Xewkija. It is within walking distance to the pebbly beach of Mgarr ix-Xini where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt shot their movie By The Sea. The farmhouse itself is airy and spacious having four large double bedrooms, three of which are ensuite and have LG A/C. The swimming pool is one of largest on the island. Mini-markets are all within a few minutes walking distance including a restaurant/pizzeria. Car/jeep hire is recommended but the bus stop is just 100m away.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Boasting one of the largest private swimming pools on the island of Gozo, plus a huge sundeck area (over 100m) and a south facing garden with citrus trees is sure to please the discerning tourist. All basic amenities are within walking distance and Victoria/Rabat, the capital is under 30 minutes by foot.

Xewkija is famous for its contemporary parish church to St. John the Baptist. I have written a book about it The Rotunda - A Testament To Faith, Courage, And Love. It is available from amazon. Not only does it dominate the village, it dominates the entire island. The village with its population of 3,000 has an eccentrically suburban air for an agricultural community. Men on ancient lilac-colored vespas roar noisily through the narrow, winding streets wearing soup-bowl helmets and shot guns slung across their backs; young boys goad a donkey through the main square; a handful of people too old to work the fields sit beside their bamboo-slatted front doors awaiting the cool of the day, while tourists gawp at their cathedral-size church.
