Come Out And Feel The Wild, Wild West/Birder's Paradise'

About Joe Klein or Barbara Powell
Hi...this home was a bank repo, completely torn apart..I added this addition in 2007...tried to leave the desert untouched. I originally came to Tucson from Annapolis Md., grew up in a harbor on the Severn River. Moved here in 1982 to get away from the cold...Love Tucson... I am a watercolor artist and the home is full of my paintings. If interested in buying any let me know.. The master bedroom has African animal art and the guest bedroom has birds from all over the world. I manage this home with my guy Joe...Joe knows how to fix everything, he is a world of knowledge and if there is a problem he knows how to fix it. We live on the property, in the main house.

Why Joe Klein or Barbara Powell chose Tucson
Our place is very remote but close to town. We own five acres of mostly untouched desert. The Catalina Mtns. are so close and the way the light changes the shadow every morning and night is incredible...The sunsets are the best in the world, almost every evening. Relax out back and watch as the birds come in for their breakfast and dinner and experience the sunsets. Lots of coyote sounds early mornings and late evenings. The property has a huge wash, that runs a lot, sometimes it is a raging river. Great place to hike and go up into the canyons. There is an incredible park just south of property, has a natural spring that feeds the ponds, lots of wild ducks, and birds that visit in the winter...My property is only half an hour to the top of Mt. Lemmon. Pine trees and 20 degrees cooler at the top. Awesome drive with lots of scenic spots along the way and picnic areas. My favorite spot to stI have been to Mt. Lemmon lots of times...and have found a great place to stop along the way is Box Alder , always no one there, picnic tables, bathroom, and lots of blue and black birds. This home is so quiet at night, that you can hear the water running in the wash, coyotes howl, roadrunners click, owls hoot, the wind thru the mesquites. There is a huge pool with diving board for summer fun too. We have just put in a really nice spa tub. Down Tanque Verde Rd. to the east, is some great 4 wheel driving experiences. The road turns into Reddington Road and goes on forever. Great spot for birders, quail come in twice a day to feed on the quail blocks, also roadrunner past thru, lots of cardinals, hawks, doves, woodpeckers...lots of rabbits feed around the yard...We have two acres fenced in.. We live in the main house, so we are here most of the time to fix and answer any questions that you have. Also, we have another rental on VRBO, the number is 612960 The unit is up a private spiral staircase...
What makes this Cottage unique
Experience complete privacy, away from the maddening world, hear no noises except the birds, coyotes and the wind. Go down to the gazebo and start a roaring fire... Listen to the sounds of the desert and watch the stars come out like you have never experienced them!!! Really great place for birders, lots of birds all around the property, we feed them so they surround the property. This property has lots and lots of big and little cacti, agaves, mesquites, palo verdes, iron wood trees. Sometimes when we get a good rain, the wash is running and it sounds wonderful, waterfront property in Arizona. The wash is a great place to explore, lots of native plants, huge trees, canyons to climb, goes on forever into the mountains. Some great day trips to Tombstone, Mt. Lemmon, Mexico (only lil over an hour away), Desert Museum, Old Tucson, lots of ghost towns around, Patagonia has a lil lake that rents boats and canoes, 3 casinos, two incredible missions, Wild Life museums, Madera Canyon, Sabino Canyon with 7 Falls, Saguaro National Monuments, Bisbee (old mining town), Kartchner Caverns, and Colossal Caves, Flandrau Planetarium, Kit Peak Planetarium, Biosphere, 4 malls for shoppers...or just relax and watch the scenery around the property, and sun bathe..almost always sunny here. We also have another property on this location...the VRBO # is 612960 We just put in a 5 person spa, we will keep it heated...and Joe keeps the chemicals just right...Pool is not heated in the winter, too big and too deep. HBO channels too....500 on the direct tv

Best vrbo yet
I have been to a lot of vrbo rentals and this one was the best my wife and I have ever been to. Beautiful place, well stocked, very private, quiet, and impeccably clean, extremely satisfied
I highly recommend this property. The scenery is gorgeous, the home both well furnished and comfortable and close enough to enjoy a lot of good restaurants. The hosts are just lovely folks.
Our time in Dorothy’s cottage was wonderful. We were able to see several birds and wild animals even though the weather was not the best. The cottage was close to our local relatives and not too far from stores and restaurants.
My son, hubby, puppy and I had a delightful time at this wonderful cottage! Barbara and Joe are fabulous hosts and we enjoyed their impeccable hospitality --the cottage was loaded with everything you could possibly need, spotless and felt like home! We will definitely visit again.
This property is in a BEAUTIFUL location! Very peaceful! The cottage was clean, well-stocked, and comfortable! Barbara and Joe are the best, welcoming and helpful! Their, dog, Jack is the sweetest (and got along with our 12 pound terrier mix)! My husband and I used to live in Tucson. It was nice to be able to entertain friends and have our daughter and son-in-law spend the night! We definitely plan to return!!
Saguaro Nat'l Monument, Agua Caliente Park, Colossal Cave, Reddington Pass close....Nogales, Mexico is about 60 miles away south...Lots of shopping, just park your car US side and walk across...it is an experience. Two really old missions along the way to Mexico. The Grand Canyon is north at the top of Arizona, along the way or way back the town of Sedona is an awesome place to visit. There are three casinos close to Tucson, just ask for directions...
Desert Museum and Old Tucson Studio is an hour away.
Because of allergies, we do not take cats at our home....
