About Krista Tremonti

We are originally from southern Michigan. We moved to Alden in 1998 to start our own businesses and raise our 3 children in this charming, small town up north where we spent our own childhood vacations. We love this area and how it has shaped our family. We live on 5 acres nearby the Farm House. The Farm House has been a very heart felt renovation project for us that we hope to own, share with our family & rent to new found friends for generations to come! Phil & Krista

What makes this farmhouse unique

Although completely renovated, we think you will love the charm that still resides in our Farm House. We worked hard to keep the special details you would expect from an early 1900's home. Notice the solid wood counter tops we constructed from the original ceiling joists we removed in order to create flat ceilings in the house. A large piece of the past preserved and certainly celebrated!

Beautifully remodeled vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

Krista and Phil Tremonti have done a fabulous job remodeling this old farmhouse. Beautifully done with a lot of attention to detail. Terrific craftmanship is evident throughout with excellent design choices. House is beautiful! The farmhouse sits on a wonderful piece of property with a spacious backyard that includes a fire pit surrounded by wooden lawn chairs. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths that easily accommodated our family of 5. Close to the town of Alden. Krista and Phil are wonderful hosts who made sure that the home was well-stocked. They seemed to think of everything and were very responsive whenever we needed anything. Highly recommended for any family that doesn't need to be right on the lake.

A HomeAway From Home

Our stay at the Farmhouse in Alden was exactly what we were looking for. It allowed us to get some much needed rest and relaxation during our week there. At first glance it seems out of the way, but it is absolutely not! 1 mile from Torch Lake, 1/2 hour to Traverse City, 1 1/2 hour to Mackinac Island and really close to Charlevoix, Petosky, and Harbor Springs. Quiet, comfortable and a really well done restoration make this place, absolutely perfect. We even hosted a dinner party for our friends from TC and had a fantastic time. Plenty of space in the house and on the 10 acres to really feel like you are Away From It All, but cozy enough to feel like you're Home. Phil and Krista, met us, handed off the keys, gave a quick tour and made themselves available if needed. Having been in the area before, we didn't bother them, but loved the fact that they had such an interest in making sure we were taken care of while staying there. Bikes and bonfires, kitchens and wifi, chairs on the front AND back porch...all this so far in the country, but so close to was awesome.

Welcome to the Farm House

  • 5 of 5

The house had everything you'd ever need! It is beautifully updated, and every room was comfortable and wonderful. Only downside for me was the lack of internet, which when compounded with the spotty phone service in the area made keeping updated with others difficult. Some might find that to be a positive though, and it didn't put a damper on the weekend. Phil and Krista were always a quick phone call away if we ever needed anything (even though we never did!).

My family vacationed at The Farm House July 27 to August 3, 2014. We had a delightful time in this charming and very comfortable house. The house was so beautiful and everything was in fantastic condition. The appliances were new and the house was decorated very pretty. The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and we loved the backyard fire pit and meadow. Phil and Krista stopped over to make sure we had everything we needed and were great hosts! The house is in a great location to Torch Lake or if you want to drive to Bellaire or Traverse City. Overall, a great place to stay in a great location in a beautiful area!

LOVED the Farmhouse!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome weekend at the Farmhouse with our good friends. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room. Bedrooms were very nice but used one of the couches as well so no one had to share their room which worked out fine because it was large and comfy. Loved the huge kitchen counter and beautiful cabinets. Everyone in our group was very impressed with the detail and finishes of the renovated home. We brought up two boats and had plenty of room to park everything, plus the proximity to Torch Lake was very convenient. Krista was extremely helpful and accommodating. The bathrooms were fully supplied with soap, shampoo, conditioner and other personal items you wouldn't typically get with a rental. The kitchen was fully stocked and had a lovely blender that made delicious pina colada's ;-). They also made sure to have plenty of fire wood on hand for bonfires. The charming barn on the property made a great backdrop for some cool photo ops with the girls. We would definitely love to come back to the Farmhouse next year! Hoping we can make it an annual trip. We made great memories with great friends at the Farmhouse!!
