Tom and Sherry Flowe own this special slice of heaven that is nestled between Sugar Mt and Banner Elk. We are a short drive to the beautiful NC Mts (Charlotte area) so we try to visit as often as possible. Our grandkids (Lauren and Grant) absolutely love the cozy cabin where we have an early family Christmas celebration every year and of course the kids love to sled, ski, and play in the snow. Because this is a second family home for us, you will feel 'right at home'. We have created a family friendly atmosphere and unlike most rentals, our cabin feels like a real home! Many of our guests have continued to visit yearly. Although we are a short 3-5 minute drive to Sugar Mt, restaurants, and all of the amenities the area has to offer, you will feel totally secluded as there are only two other cabins below our's. Our hill is perfect for sledding in the winter, and our oversized rear deck is ideal for a cook-out where you are surrounded by nothing but Mother Nature. We look forward to seeing you soon!!!
Sherry Flowe purchased this cabin in 2002
We chose to build in Banner Elk because of the ideal location. There are only 2 other cabins on our private road.....our cabin sits on the very top of the hill and we are surrounded by beautiful mountain vistas. You can quickly drive to fabulous restaurants, grocery stores, Sugar Mt, and great little shops.
PLEASE NOTE THAT RATES DRPEND ON NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS, LENGTH OF STAY, AND SEASON!
Privacy and awesome views plus the convenience of wonderful restaurants, shopping, and Sugar Mt within a 5-10 drive!

Wonderful time here! We greatly appreciate your beautiful and relaxing home. We had another great stay this year and will be back The porch is our favorite spot!
We were thrilled to spend 2/19/16-2/22/16 at the cabin. We brought our kids (all teenagers) and our dog with us. We spent the day at Sugar Mountain and the evenings we stayed in and made dinner and ate by the fire. It was so perfect. The home is incredible. Its very large and the rooms are placed in the very best spaces. The open kitchen and family room really helped us stay gathered and we had such a great time. We felt we havefound our gem in the mountains and cannot wait to return again and again!
My husband and I (and our dog, Kayla) just returned from our first weekend at Sugar Meadows where we celebrated our first wedding anniversary... The cabin was absolutely beautiful, you can really feel how much care has been put into the home to make it comfortable for everyone. It has a wonderful front porch with rocking chairs to enjoy your coffee or a drink while taking in the mountain views and there was actually more space than we even needed inside. We also loved that it was secluded on a gravel road with just 3 homes total, yet only a 5 minute drive to the lovely downtown area of Banner Elk.. We took Sherry's advice and ate at the Banner Elk Cafe for lunch on Friday afternoon as well as Zuzda's for dinner on Saturday.. We had already seen Grandfather Mountain (awesome!) so we attempted to drive over to see the Blowing Rock instead, but the foggy weather wasn't very cooperative for that and we decided to spend a few hours at the Banner Elk Winery instead, which had such an amazing relaxed atmosphere (not to mention the delicious wine)!
One thing to mention is that there are dogs that live in the cabin right below (they are fenced), but there is still a great back yard and deck area for less-social dogs who might need more privacy.
We would highly recommend Sugar Meadows, such a peaceful and relaxing environment for any family or group of friends -- and their pets!
My family and I just stayed here and we really enjoyed the cabin! It is very clean and has all the things you would want in a mountain cabin: Peaceful setting with a beautiful view, homey atmosphere, comfortable beds, fireplace, blankets and stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We would recommend it highly!
My husband and I stayed here and we can't say enough good things about it. The cabin was clean, even prettier than the pictures and cozy! It was close to so many attractions like grandfather mountain, linville falls, grandfather mountain winery, and the mast general store. We enjoyed a cozy fire and the peace and quiet here. I loved that it was the last house and backed up to a hillside it made it full more secluded while still being close to everything. We can't wait to go back. Sherry was so helpful and recommend great places to visit and eat and she keeps the cabin beautifully kept and decorated. You will love it here :)
We had a very relaxing stay. Being that it snowed before we got there we could not travel up to the cabin due to ice but at least there was a place at the bottom to park. We had intended to take our daughter snow tubing but instead we went and purchased a tube and tubed down the mountain where we had to park. It was a great time and inexpensive to us, which was great. We did not want to leave. Can not wait to go and stay again!!
This was our first time staying at Sugar Meadows. We booked this lovely pet-friendly property back in July with our beloved dog in mind, but she never got to enjoy it. Four days before our arrival, we had to put her down. It was with mixed emotions that my husband and I made this trip to Banner Elk the first week of October to celebrate my birthday. It would have been a perfect place for our 13-year old lab / sheep dog mix to vacation, too. Despite our sadness, we had a wonderful stay in Banner Elk at Sugar Meadows. This well-maintained modern home feels alot like a log cabin, is beautifully decorated, roomy, comfortable, and very clean. Starter paper products, hand and dish soap, spices and some kitchen staples were available. Soft bath and bed linens were a really nice touch! The central heat worked great! Our cell phones functioned just fine (as did the wifi) and the TVs access lots of channels. The well-equipped kitchen and large master bathroom (double vanities) were truly appreciated. The mountain views are nice from the front porch and the area is very quiet and peaceful. You are just minutes from a variety of places to eat and a Food Lion grocery store. We ate several times at Pedalin Pig (great ribs, friendly staff) during our stay. And of course there is plenty to do in the area! We had visited Grandfather Mountain before so we took scenic drives this trip, to the tops of Seven Devils, Sugar and Beech Mountains – great views. The leaves are just beginning to turn fall colors (more in the higher elevations). We shopped at the Mast General Store in Valle Cruses (you get to the Annex first, just keep going), drove miles along the Blue Ridge Parkway (did several short hikes from it, including the one under the viaduct) and also found the beautiful Elk River Falls off Hwy 19e. We took over 200 photos and shot some videos, too. Be careful relying only on the GPS. We found it is not always accurate. Before leaving home and venturing out, we used Google and Google Earth to find the Sugar Meadows property, and also to research and locate places of interest in the area, and this really paid off! Sherry (owner) was easy to work with and has succeeded in providing a lovely retreat for her guests. We highly recommend Sugar Meadows and Banner Elk as year-round destinations to vacation and make new memories.
