Why Ms.Edith and son Laszlo Beres chose Innere Stadt
The true happiness comes from sharing, giving and love This centrally located B&B in Vienna's prestigious first district is our family's safe heaven since the WWII ended. It contains memories and treasures collected (or rather rescued from the war). We opened our historic home for visitors to share and enjoy the elegance of the past, and beauty of Vienna and Budapest. Both cities are listed among the top 25 of the world's best cities to visit. Despite of the renovation we kept the original style and added carefully modern facilities such as air-condition, central heating, modernized kitchen, bathrooms, etc. It has been a pleasure to accept the complements and see the smiling faces of our guests, and see them return.
What makes this Apartment unique
If you choose to stay in our accommodation, you may expect everything you would in a elegant hotel, not so formal but with more personal and customized care. Our city tours are taking the guests to hidden sites and history in every step on the way. Vienna's great location: in the center, however quiet with a park and play-ground across our building. Near to public transportation and conveniences. The capital of the former Hapsburg Empire, the city was established by the Romans - named Vindobona, offers limitless sites, culture, history, entertainment and gastronomic delights to its visitors.

Ideal for a large family!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying with Edith in her charming home - comfortable and centrally located. Our family group spanned three generations and having the two apartments was perfect. Edith is a helpful and attentive host.
Great spot near Vienna Center
We enjoyed our stay with Edith at her B and B in Vienna's Innere Stadt. We were traveling with our son and daughter in law and our two granddaughters aged 1 and 4. Having both apartments gave us the perfect blend of privacy and accessibility and put us within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do as well as the convenient subway system. The little park across the street was a wonderful place for the little ones to use up some excess energy. The only negative, a small one, is that the internet never really worked properly. It was a wonderful vacation and very interesting listening to Edith tell stories of old Vienna, Hungary and Europe. She also gave us many good suggestions of places to visit, things to do and restaurants. She was a very gracious hostess.
Great location, helpful and a very interesting host ...
This apartment is in a very good location in the inner staadt of Vienna. Easily accessible by car. Parking is available for free on weekends and during night hours directly in front of the building.
It was a bit of a challenge to get into the building when we arrived as it too a long time and multiple attempts of ringing the doorbell to get Edith's attention on the upper floor of a closed, secured apartment building. The building itself is a regal structure and looks very interesting.
Edith was full of helpful information on the sights to see around Vienna and about getting to them via public transport (we left our car parked during our stay and opted to use the hop on hop off bus). She also had a lot of suggestions for dining options which are plentiful in the area.
The unit itself is not as large as advertised (Barouke suite) 1100 sq ft. The biggest drawback and the reason for the 3 stars .... the place is way too crowded with a lot of stuff and hardly much space to keep our things and maneuver around (and we travel very lightly).
Breakfast is pretty lean and basic and we had to remind the host to provide it. One would think a B&B would have both B's covered.
In addition to the ideal location of the place other guests should engage in a conversation with Edith - she has a wealth of memorabilia to share with interesting and unique facts of history she has lived through and she willingly shared her experiences with us.
We appreciate your choosing us for your stay in Vienna. In response to your review, I would like to clarify some point for the convenience of our future guests. Right after every booking we are sending location information for arrival details. In Vienna my mobile phone is recommended to ring me on, and let me know you have arrived.
I would go and meet guest at the entrance to take them to the elevator and to the apartment, show how to use the keys and the elevator.
Just ringing the doorbell only, is not a best way, because others could be in the apartment, and I may be in one of the lofts, where hearing it is impossible.
Regarding the Baroque suite - there is no description of 1100 square-foot, as a B&B we are sharing our exclusive historic apartment with guests by offering 2 suites and using the third one as owner/manager's private area.
There is no such offering as "ambassador's suite" we do have a Buddha suite, with built-in Indian temple-doors (2-4meters) - each suite with one bathroom only and clearly explained the availability of 4-6 persons/suite - in the true centre Vienna - all antiques with Persian rugs and rare items. Furnishings are for use and decoration to provide the appropriate atmosphere. I suggest for all to read the descriptions and take a look of the photos, pay attention to arrival instructions. Thank you, Ms Edith.
Elegant apartment in great location
My wife, son, and I spent five great days in Vienna and were very comfortable in Edith's apartment. There was plenty of room for us (we slept downstairs while our son had a big bed in an upstairs loft), two bathrooms, and the main kitchen was well supplied when the local market was closed. The furnishings are truly wonderful - many carpets and comfortable chairs. Edith gave us clear directions for the public transportation, recommended restaurants and other local attractions (like the wonderful flea & farmers markets at Kettenbruckengasse on the way to Schonbrunn), and served us a characteristic Viennese breakfast. The location is great too, just a couple of blocks from the Ring. Wonderful place to stay!
We were very warmly welcome in a beautiful and comfortable appartment, in which we shared so many great things. It was an extraordinary human adventure.
Thanks for everything Edith, your kindness and breakfeasts. You really made part of a trip that we will never forget!
Prater Amusement Park, Wildlife Viewing (Zoo), Opera/Operette/Musicals, Concerts, Imax, Horse Drawn-Carriage Rides or hoseback riding (in Prater), open beach on the Danube (Donau Insel), thermal baths (Oberlaa, Doblinger Bad..).
Great playground for children in front of our bldg! Site-seeing boat-rides in the city and to Wachau, Melk, to the twin-city Bratislava (1 hour), bicycle rentals - no cost - bicycle paths throughout the city...
