Spacious 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath Home That Comfortably Sleeps 10
I grew up in Otter Creek and have many wonderful memories here. I knew that this would be a wonderful place to raise our kids. I built this house from the ground up in 1997 and raised my two girls there until they were school age. I have since joined the military and am moving around the country but continue to cherish the memories that we had in this house. We hope that you make as many wonderful memories during your vacation and enjoy it's peaceful setting as much as we did.
Penelope purchased this House in 1997
Why Penelope chose Otter Creek
This property has been in my family's possession for several decades and was given to me to build my family home on. We cherish the privacy and tranquility that we experienced here each and every day. We have made many family hikes on local mountains using our home as a starting point and taking the free Park bus home. The village of Otter Creek is a great spot in the middle of all the amenities that Acadia National Park has to offer with a small playground down the street, a seasonal market, and phenomenal restaurant.
What makes this House unique
The kitchen and outside spaces make this house. The kitchen is spacious, with lots of counter space and hand-made cabinets to create your culinary specialties. The outside areas contain multiple granite rock-walled gardens with rock taken from the property left from the last glacier. The tiered gardens in the center of the driveway contain lots of beautiful perennial gardens and a winding pathway. We are working to restore the perennial gardens and outside of the house after years of being away but they will be stunning once done. Please keep in mind that there is no csble TV but you can access your internet channel accounts (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc.) through the DVD player.

Perfect for 3 generations!
2 of the generations recorded 61.5 miles of hiking on the fitbits! The grandparents shopped, toured the Island by car and enjoyed family and meal time with everyone else. The house was big enough for personal space and small enough for a great time! Very well stocked!
It was a great vacation!!!?
Third time to BarHarbor. This place is situated in ideal location. Quick access to village. Quiet surrounding. Owner very easy to get a hold of. Almost everything you need is supplied in home. Would go there again.
Perfect location. Beautiful house.
Loved the house! There were 12 of us and didn’t feel crowded. Closets were huge. Lots of towels and bedding. Felt like home. Clean but not sterile. If I ever get a chance to go to Maine again I will look into renting here again and would recommend it to friends.
Perfect for a family getaway
We loved our stay at your house. It was close to Acadia and Bar Harbor and beautifully secluded. We would definitely stay here again. Penelope was very responsive and made sure we were comfortable.
Best location ever
The home was large and comfortable and isolated from everyone and everything.
Love this house, location is perfect
This was our second visit to this home. The location is ideal. House is perfectly stocked and just so comfortable. We hiked every day and at night enjoyed family games, the girls especially loved playing darts.
I loved being able to hike right from the house. We came in April and some of the park roads were closed so hiking from the house was a huge benefit.
We can’t wait to come back, hopefully next April again
This house is located in the village of Otter Creek. Access to a free bus system for Acadia National Park is a short walk down the street which will take you to all corners of the island. You can walk from the house 15 minutes through the woods to Otter Creek Cove and connect to multiple hiking trails nearby. We used to hike all day and then take the bus home from Bar Harbor, after ice cream, of course. No cars needed once you get to the house. An absolutely outstanding restaurant, The Burning Tree, is located right down the street as well as a small summer market. The Southridge Trail of Cadillac Mountain is located a short walk up the street. This is a moderate slope, 3 mile hike with gorgeous views to the top of Cadillac Mountain, known to be the first spot in the United States that the sun touches every morning. You can also drive to the summit of Cadillac Mountain via the Park Loop Road where you can watch the sun set over phenomenal views. The shopping in Bar Harbor is great with multiple unique shops and restaurants. The hiking, carriage trails, whale watching, and boat tours are the real draw. The island is perfect for outdoor activities and enjoying nature. Our house will help you get in a zen mood with its peaceful, private setting. Wi-Fi is available in the house. Enjoy it as much as we have!
