The Fairways at Mauna Lani is a luxury, condominium gated community with resort style amenities, located in the prestigious Mauna Lani Resort along the Kohala Coast of Hawaii's Big Island. Enjoy amazing views of Mauna Kea, Kohala Mountains, lava fields, swaying palm trees and access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club, one of the most prestige's white sand beaches on the island.

These villas are the perfect place to enjoy your vacation! This luxury residence property is located directly in-between two world-class resorts: the Mauna Lani and the Fairmont Orchid. Each of these resorts is perched on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world: with white sand, clear blue waters, and the best weather Mother Nature can offer.

Our villa boasts granite counter tops and the finest finishes. Private lanai comes equipped with a stainless steel Viking propane barbecue grill. Our villa has its own full-size washer/dryer and is air conditioned.

Both bedrooms are spacious and have their own connecting bathrooms. The beds are plush and comfortable. Our villa is steps from the complex's huge swimming pool (including a one-foot-deep wading pool for young children), spa, landscaped park, lava rock waterfall and hot tub, and fitness center. In addition we offer access to Mauna Lani Resort's private Beach Club. The Mauna Lani Beach Club is on a protected bay with white sand and coconut palms. Great place to relax for an afternoon, boasts world class snorkeling (all ocean gear can be rented seaside), or enjoy lunch at the Beach Club Restaurant and Bar, and walk along beautifully restored Hawaiian fishing trails.

The Fairmont Orchid Hotel and beach is less than 1/2 mile away. Shopping at the 'The Shops at Mauna Lani' (1/2 mile south) is a 5-10 minute walk from the villa. The Shops at Mauna Lani are a shopping oasis in the Mauna Lani Resort which offers upscale shops and restaurants including Foodland Fresh Grocery gourmet market & deli, Tommy Bahamas, Ruth Cris Steakhouse and much more!

The Villa is only a five minute drive to six award winning golf courses and the best beaches in Hawaii. It is a five minute drive to the Waikoloa Beach Resort; The Kings Shop's which includes upscale shopping and restaurants, and Queens Marketplace - a family friendly shopping, dining and entertainment complex.

Our home is fully equipped with all of the pool and sand toys you will need to enjoy your vacation including beach chairs, pool floats, boogie boards, sand toys and more. We also offer a pack n' play for your little ones.

Location says it all. A great morning walk for coffee at the Mauna Lani Shopping Center is a best way to start the day. A day of golf, scenic drive, snorkeling or relaxing on the beach are among our favorite things to do. A good book by the pool tops off any day! Great restaurants are nearby or heat up the grill and cook your favorite meal.

What makes this townhome unique

Access to the private Mauna Lani beach where you will find a restaurant, water sports equipment rentals and cabanas (free on first come basis) is great amenity of our property.

As the new owner, I had the opportunity to stay for 15 days and feel first hand what my guests will see and experience in their stay at Fairways #1503. I found the townhome provided everything a vacationing couple or family would enjoy. We enhanced the beach toys, with noodles, boggie boards and fresh beach towels, making it so easy to enjoy both the pool and the Mauna Lani Beach Club. The Beach Club is one of the most beautiful white sand beaches the island has to offer and so convenient to grab lunch while enjoying the clear water. The townhome kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to fix your meals, and the grocery store at the Mauna Lani shops provided all the ingredients one could want. The Mauna Lani Golf Pro Shop is a great place to have lunch or dinner as well, with something on the menu for everyone. Enjoy the par 3 Keiki course with the little ones, or play one of the 18 hole courses - you won't be disappointed. After a busy day swimming, snorkeling, golf or touring the island, relax in the comfort of home on one of the cozy, comfortable beds. A good night is sure to be had. I can hardly wait to return!

This is a prime location for all your vacation fun. It is easily accessible to all the amenities, including the restaurants and activities at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the Fairmont Orchid Hotel. Ruth Chris and Tommy Bahamas restaurants are located at the Mauna Lani shopping center. The best coffee shop and breakfast stop is also in the shopping center. On site work-out room, spa and sports facilities are nearby as well. Enjoy a bike ride, walk, golf, tennis or relax at the beach. Take a helicopter ride and tour the island. So much to do, you won't have time for it all!

Great experience

We were here for two weeks in February and have felt fortunate to stay here. The owners Peggy and Gary were helpful with directions and advice. Larry , the property manager, checked with us once we arrived and settled in to introduce himself. We felt that any problems would be addressed right away and Peggy was very accessible as well. The house is well organized everything we needed for kitchen, BBQ, pool and beach. The master bedroom is very spacious and a nice view of the grounds from the upper lanai. The area is generally quiet and very peaceful. Lots of pathways nearby and parking was always available. The island is a great experience (our first time) and Fairways 1503 made it even better. It is particularly good for one or two couples or singles. Grocery store has most of what we needed and no more expensive than anywhere else except the big stores in Kona. The beach area is good and we found that later day or early evening on weekdays can be less crowded.

We spent a wonderful month on the Big Island we always love coming back and look forward to next year! The condo was great. It is very accurately depicted. Wonderful place to Stay! Lots to do! Very well maintained!

Mauna Lani - Fairways - Penny Pinchers

We have stayed at the Mauna Lana Fairways in the past and have always enjoyed the location. This is the first time we have stayed in this unit. The unit was spacious and well appointed, but some items were not well maintained or lacking compared to other units we have stayed in with in the resort. The location within the Fairways was also very nice. We would definitely stay at the Mauna Lani Fairways again.....but not at at this unit. We rented the unit for 12 days over the Christmas holidays. When we arrived the" beach access" card was missing, and the second bedroom was setup as a kingsize bed even though we had requested we have it set up as 2 single beds. We had to reorganize the back bedroom as our adult children did not want to sleep together in a king size bed. After a long trip this was a bit of work to separate beds, make beds, find sheets, duvets etc. The next day Larry, the mgr brought over a replacement beach access card ( had we not stayed at the resort before we would not have known it was missing.) The next day our fridge stopped working. We had $1000 worth of groceries that were in peril of perishing....prawns, scallops, tuna etc. Once again Larry from the mgmt company came to the rescue, he was most helpful. Within 24hrs that issue was resolved but caused some inconvenience. The barbecue had issues, many of the holes where the gas comes from were plugged which made for very uneven heat. As we did not want to bother mgmt again, my husband spend a significant amt of time cleaning the bbq. The bbq was cleaned and works really well now. There seems to be an issue with the back bedroom venting, it is very, very hot at night. We used the air conditioner at night which helped but did not solve the issue. Consequently, we accepted but were extremely disappointed that after spending thousands of dollars on the unit they kept $75 for, for in there opinion overusing the AC, ( they keep track of how many hrs it is on) not placing the master bedroom sheets in the laundry, and coffee stains on the carpet(?). In our opinion ......very petty and disappointing.....especially since we were charged $250 for the cleaning.

Owner's Response: We are sincerely disappointed with this guest review. It is always a difficult balance to protect your property while providing an enjoyable vacation for a guest. Several concerns mentioned were not a reflection on our maintenance of our home. A lost beach beach card by a previous guest was replaced as soon as it was noticed. Communications with this guest did not include a request for twin beds. Overloading a refrigerator will cause a lack of circulation and once 1/2 th items were moved to another refrigerator the temperature returned to normal. We do disclose that overuse of the AC or a cleaning bill in excess of the standard may result in a deduction of the damage deposit. This guest had a cleaning bill over $100 of the normal bill, so we did not withhold all that we should or could have but instead split the additional costs in 1/2, which we thought was more than fair. We can only ask our guests to respect our home and treat it gently and unfortunately that is not always the case.

Villa 1503 at the Fairways suited our family of 4 very well. We had a very enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed the tropical garden surrounds and made use of the pool. The beach towels and supplies were also much appreciated when visiting the local beaches such as Hapuna. Local shops are very handy and we made use of the fully equipped kitchen to prepare some meals. The only thing that we missed out on was the night time viewing of the manta rays. Due to bad ocean conditions our trip didn't go and we couldn't reschedule to another night as we were at the end of our trip.

So would recommend the accommodation as very comfortable and convenient and hope that others enjoy. Janet

Big Island Comfort

Gary and Peggy have a beautiful unit in The Fairways at Mauna Lani. The unit is well appointed with very comfortable furniture, a modern kitchen, outdoor cooking facilities, a very spacious master bedroom and bathroom that also has a spacious deck off the master. In addition the second bedroom is large and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would have at home and more from a convection oven to a rice maker to a spacious fridge with a water and ice component to all the frying pans, pots, dishes, glasses, cutlery you would need. The kitchen was also full of many condiments so I would suggest seeing what's there before bringing things from home. Being in the Fairways you also have a pass access to the private beach club as well as the pool onsite which is a bonus. Gary and Peggy where great to deal with and I anticipate coming back to their unit in a future trip to the Big Island. I would highly recommend their unit to two couples, a family unit with children or a group of single friends.
