This oceanside tropical estate is perfect for your family vacation or winter retreat. We are centrally located with easy ocean access and just steps from one of Key Largo's only sandy beaches. Use our paddle boards to explore. Only 4 houses in from open ocean, Tavernier Key is within view and Tavernier Creek cuts through to the bayside just minutes south of our channel. Enjoy a relaxing day at the adjacent Harry Harris Park which offers balmy ocean breezes, great open-water views, lagoon, boat ramps, fishing, children's playground/ swings, picnic areas, basketball courts and baseball fields. Watch the sunset from a hammock or Adirondack chairs as the kids enjoy our professionally landscaped yard with open grassy area to play. This gated estate is secure and lush! Begin your morning on the front porch as you watch the sunrise and sip your cup of coffee. Stroll over to the beach and gaze out at the Atlantic Ocean or read a book under a palm tree with your toes in the sand. Unwind after a long day in our hot tub/spa overlooking our canal as it opens to the ocean. Bring your boat to enjoy fishing, diving in near by reefs, or water skiing and tubing off the shallows of Tavernier Key. Explore the coastline or head out a few miles east to Pickles Reef or Christ the Abyss. Bring your bathing suits and 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' attitude!

About Beth and Dan Kalbac

We, Dan and Beth, both grew up in Miami and have raised 4 beautiful children in South Florida. We have so many great memories of precious family times at our tropical paradise. Now that the 'kids' are heading off to college and grad school, we want to share the joy we've experienced in this beautiful place God has blessed us with.

The beach is my "happy place"! What could be better than the sound of palm trees, the feel of balmy breezes, and the smells and warmth of the beach and ocean? As a young girl, I spent vacations at the house next door and wanted to head back to this area to make sure our children experienced the same wholesome fun. This home has been a place of restoration and healing for body and spirit!

Easy ocean access for boating and its proximity to one of the keys only sandy beaches makes this lush gated estate unique! Our large yard with tropical landscape and swaying palms is perfect for relaxing in the shade. Ask about our separate in-law quarters which makes it a great place for family gatherings or relaxing escapes anytime of year!

Paradise Getaway in the Keys

Staying at this beautiful vacation home was truly a gift from God! The location, dwelling, and manicured property are ideal for a family or couple seeking an opportunity to get away from modern life’s accelerated pace, and slow down to appreciate the really important things in life. Less than a minute walk away is the entrance to Harry Harris Park, which offers a splendid view of daily sunrises - all of which were different. The park has a small beach inside a protective rock barrier to the Atlantic Ocean where people can swim or children can play in the sand. The park also serves as an excellent location for early morning walks. The local fish markets enabled us to have fresh fish or shrimp on the gas grill. This property is a convenient distance from Everglades National Park and the South Miami area. It is also well positioned to home-base if your intent is to explore the Florida Keys. The owners Dan and Beth are delightful and caring people. Beth was very responsive to all of our questions.

Extremely Relaxing Stay in the Keys!

We stayed in the Kalbec home for the month of January 2015. The lush tropical foliage and extra large yard with hammock was so inviting...the best landscaped yard in the neighborhood! The home is very cozy with plush towels, comfortable bed, stocked kitchen, and nice furnishings. The spa/hottub directly outside the master bedroom was a real treat. The screened porch was clean with comfortable furniture and where we spent most of our time. Having access to the paddle boards was a real plus as we used them frequently for many adventurous trips to the ocean. Harry Harris park, which is literally outside the front door, was good for walking and enjoying the wide open water views & sunsets. There are many different restaurants with decent food within a short drive...our favorite for Sunday brunch was Made 2 Order. A trip to Bahia Honda was worth a day on the 'untouched' beach...gorgeous water and peaceful atmosphere. Beth & Dan prepared the home well for our arrival, were very easy to deal with and responsive to any concerns/issues. Renting a boat would have been a tremendous addition to the trip.

Easy water access to both the ocean and bay through Tavernier Creek for world-class fishing, diving, lobstering (in season). Your family will love the beach, playground, picnic areas, and athletic fields steps away at Harry Harris Park. Boat ramp is also available at the park. Swim with the dolphins or Theater of the Sea 10 minutes away. Enjoy Schenebly Vinery and Everglades Alligator Farm, Everglades National Park, "Robert is Here" tropical fruit stand which are about 30-40 minutes north in Homestead, or head south 90 miles for sunset entertainment in Key West. 15 minutes south are beautiful views from restaurants in Islamorada or drive by boat or car 2 miles north to Snappers for live music and waterfront dining. Baptist Mariners Hospital is one mile south.Less than 10 miles to John Pennekamp Park and famous diving spots.

Rental rules in the Upper Keys require 28 day rental, however we may rent for less time, but the price will remain at the monthly rate and we can't rent to any others during that month. Sorry, although we love dogs, we no longer accept any dogs on the property. Some fees are negotiable especially for renters staying 60 plus days. Changeover dates are flexible. We prefer parties of 2-4 but can accommodate additional people( up to 10) with prior notification and approval and fees.

Discounts available if stay exceeds 60 nights
Boaters must have evidence of liability insurance and because water in the Florida Keys is so expensive, guests bringing boats will pay an extra $500 per month to cover extra water usage to wash boat and equipment. Trailer storage however is freon the property.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
