LOCATION IS GREAT, HOME IS WELL STOCKED, HOST IS HELPFUL

We love the close proximity to downtown. The home had everything we wanted. We cooked a great meal for our family and some company and it had all the dishes and pots and pans we needed. The table was set beautifully and it was a fun time for all.

The host is helpful and we phoned the manager as we could not find some wine glasses, and she immediately told us where they were. She phoned back within minutes.

Truly a Gem

This home is truly a gem. It is close to downtown and right in a beautiful location looking at Pilot Butte Mountain. This is a true find. The place was clean and definitely deserves a 5 STAR RATING.

We stayed there with our family and were treated very well. The instructions in the home made it easy for us to know where everything was and how to work the TV's and INTERNET plus more about the area included in the information book. The manager was helpful and we would like to come back again.

Mixed Bag - May not meet everyone's definition of Luxury

I am conflicted in sharing this review because we were incredibly grateful to find last minute lodging and asked the owner to take a leap of faith. I'd be the first to admit we were not a standard agreement. That said, there were some definite some aspects that could be improved.

Facilities: The home was great for a family of four with teens. Plenty of room and the common areas are nicely appointed. There is a 1/2 bath downstairs which was convenient. It had all the major appliances you'd expect and a coffee maker (wrong filters and no coffee, cream, sugar). If you definition of luxury is 4 Seasons or Westin, this is not it (plastic molded shower in master) but it aesthetically pleasing enough in decor. Know you are near the Butte but you are on a private cul de sac that is not a priority for plowing in winter and the homes are built in such a way that we could watch the neighbor's TV through the portal windows in our master and theirs.

Hospitality: When I think luxury, I think about having my basic needs cared for in the hospitality industry. Maybe this is a new property for the owner but if Luxury is what is being advertised, they Luxury should be delivered. Even the lowly La Quinta Inn makes sure that guests have a blow dryer, shampoo and conditioner, coffee, creamer and sugar. We were provided a hard bar of soap in each bathroom. That was all. There is laundry soap and dish soap because as a guest, you are expected to do the dishes and start the laundry before you depart. Apparently the $165 cleaning fee doesn't cover these services or taking out the trash.

When my uncle checked us in the house was freezing and the agent told him to call the owner. Turns out the heat had been turned on in the morning but hadn't warmed up the house. We were beside ourselves with worry because it was 9 degrees that night. The house was warm when we arrived but the controls are LOCKED. If you like to sleep cooler or be a bit warmer, you have to call the owner to COME and change the 69 degrees to something else.

The house is papered (almost every switch) with notices in CAPS about how you can't use, turn off, don't touch the TV controls, etc. When I rent luxury, I expect the owner to offer me the same courtesy and be trusting that I will care for the place.

The owner was as responsive as one could hope during Christmas but follows the contract to the letter. Don't expect your deposit back until 10-14 days after departure.

Owner's Response: Our Guest was obviously under a stressful situation with her family. They wanted to move in within several hours and we were able to accommodate them. We keep creamer. salt and pepper and spices in a drawer and apparently she was unable to find it. We do not supply shampoo and conditioner as this is not a hotel but a private residence. We do Supply laundry soap, dish soap, and handsoap. Perhaps this guest would have been better suited as a Motel. .We Do Supply the essentials. In between guests we turn down the heat as it is very costly. We anticipate that most will do the same in their personal home. Upon the guests arrival the house was warm and comfy. We did enjoy having this guest and hope in the future they are able to find something more suitable for their needs.

WONDERFUL LOCATION LOCATION and HOST - Beautiful Home

We didn't know the area very well and were pleasantly surprised how great it was. Our family couldn't be happier. The rate was way below what we anticipated for such a nice place.

Clean, bright and well kept. Fully stocked.

We will recommend it highly.

Beautiful Home in Wonderful Location

My family had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home while in Bend for a reunion. The location is superb and close to downtown and shopping, yet not so crazy that we are always thinking of the traffic. Within 4 minutes, we drove to Bond Street and had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed Drake Park.

The ceilings are wonderful in this home and make it roomy and bright.

We will hope to stay here again. The host was most helpful.

This spectacular home is at the base of pilot butte, a landmark throughout bend, oregon. Drive or hike the butte for 360 views of the area. Catch the bus in town, 5 minutes away, to go up to mt. Bachelor ski area or go shopping and fine dining.

Wholefoods natural grocery and salad/hot bar is only minutes away as well as Safeway grocery, Barnes and noble books, Starbucks coffee and Costco.
