We bought this 1948 home in December 2013. We renovated the downstairs apartment and rented it right away. Then we decided to renovate and furnish the upstairs apartment for vacation travelers to Lexington. It is really pretty and close to Lexington's growing downtown scene. In fact, it is only steps away from Jefferson Street, with lots of choices in, a brewery, restaurants and an upscale wine market.

About Teri Kelly
This vacation rental is run by two sisters. Teri lives just seven houses away in an 1890's Victorian. Delena lives in Austin, Tx, where she works as a recruiter. We were both born in Kentucky and grew up on Lexington's north side. We, along with Teri's husband, Chris, have recently become involved in the development of the Distillery District by purchasing the abandoned James Pepper Distillery. We built Goodfella's Pizza a space in the old Boiler House, and recently completed work on the NEW James Pepper Distillery. We became dismayed at reports that hotels are only giving their housekeepers 15-20 minutes to clean a room. This is NOT enough time! Two of us always spend at least two hours cleaning between guests. The report even showed that sheets are not always being changed between guests! Oh my. We very much want to assure anyone who rents our properties that every bed is changed between every guest...even if it appears not to have been used. Every. SIngle. Time. Exactly like we would expect when we rent from others.

Why Teri Kelly chose Northside District
The home is located in Downtown Lexington's second and largest neighborhood on beautiful West 3rd Street. The neighborhood has undergone a transformation in recent years while maintaining it's historic charm. There are many restaurants, breweries, bars and shops opening throughout. We have a heart for historic preservation (this is our ninth renovation) downtown and this is our first short-term rental. We are excited to meet the guests who visit our charming and comfy apartment and welcome them to our hometown.
What makes this Apartment unique
The garden is incredible. Not being talented gardeners ourselves, we feel incredibly lucky that a landscape architect rented one of the apartments for several years before we bought the house in December, 2013. He spent several thousand hours and hundreds of dollars creating an English garden of winding paths and full, lush beds. It is peaceful and a piece of paradise right downtown. All we had to do was dig it out since he had moved out and it was neglected for several years. The furnishings have been culled from area estate sales over the past year. The resulting look is a contemporary renovation, with vintage furnishings. Teri and her husband have spent a few nights there when their own home is rented, and have absolutely loved it. We are confident our guests will too!

Well kept, cozy, nice extras
Cute place! About a ten minute walk from lots of restaurants, some shops, and Rupp Arena. We were there for a concert at Rupp so this was a great place to stay as we could walk and didn't need to catch an Uber or anything.
We stayed in the downstairs 'apartment.' Very nice kitchen. Beds/bedrooms were comfy and cozy. Extras included toiletries in the bathroom. Really my only complaint would be the slight lack of lighting throughout the house... A few more lamps would be helpful for aging eyes like mine ;) Other than that small 'issue,' it was great. Also a lovely back yard garden and nice porch swing.
The space was very clean, super cozy & in a great location. We loved the recommendations for dining/entertainment near us.
Great location. Lovely space that is clean and comfortable!
The place is clean and comfortable. The location is great and just a short walk downtown!
Great location, very clean apartment, Teri was very nice and hospitable.
Wonderful renovated apartment with beautiful garden!
The apartment was great for two bridesmaids in my daughter’s wedding, but the unexpected gift was the beautiful garden where the photographer got some great shots! The overall experience was amazing and the perfect stay!
Oh! That is wonderful to hear! I must admit I fell in love with the garden before I even saw inside the house. It was buried under a few years of growth, but I could see someone really did a lot of work laying it out so beautifully. I love it when our guests get to enjoy it.
