"Wonderful"

  • 4 of 5

We were two couples traveling throughout Italy. Florence was certainly a highlight. Our apartment was clean and roomy. The property was very well maintained and Francesco couldn't have been nicer.

The roads in this part of Tuscany can be a little challenging for a van. The location was on the outskirts of town and had limited parking for our van.

Really nice place

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful with excellent views! Really nice. We stay a whole week and it was perfect, a extremely nice view of Florence, you can see the Duomo! Francesco Landi received us and was very gentle, he gave us all the information we need. Love to walk around. The family help us and at the same time we have our privacy. Excellent! We will love to stay again the next time we visit Florence.

Beautiful villa, amazing views in a tranquil setting

  • 5 of 5

We were warmly greeted by the kind owners and Dante, the Leonberger puppy. The villa apartment we stayed in was beautifully decorated and furnished, with everything we needed for our stay. There was a stunning view from some of our rooms and particularly from the owners terrace, where we enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, cheese, ham, yoghurts, a variety of breads, homemade jam and cake! We also chose to have dinner there one evening, which was amazing, 4 courses, all home cooking and the best pasta we have ever tasted!!

The villa is well situated with great connections for trips into Florence or other nearby towns, yet is quiet and peaceful. We would love to go back someday to explore further.

Stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment had everything we could need or want. Francesco was a wonderful host and was very helpful when our sons were ill. There were beautiful walks near by. Great access to Florence via bus. The walk uphill was fine for my husband, myself , and two sons (ages 6 and 11). However, were quite difficult for my 76 year old mother in law. We underestimated how steep they were. It would not have been an issue for the rest of us.

We really recommend this location and would love to return.

Eine schöne Ferienwohnung mit kleinen Macken

  • 3 of 5

Top Adresse

  • 5 of 5

Castello is an area of great historical importance. Several Renaissance villas are located within walking distance from the apartment. The Villa Reale and Villa Petraia, both belonging to the Medici family, are famous for their architecture and as striking examples of Italian formal gardens. Villa Petraia was also home to king Vittorio Emanuele II, who summered in Castello when Florence became the capital of Italy in 1865. Further down the road from Villa Petraia, you’ll see Villa Bel Riposo. Carlo Lorenzi Collodi, the author of Pinocchio lived here while he was writing this popular story. All the characters in Pinocchio were drawn from real persons living in and around Castello. Castello is an area of great natural beauty. Narrow roads wind along ancient stone walls up the mountainside. Marvel at the rustic farm houses and splendid villas that sit amongst acres of silver-leafed olive trees. Guests are invited to stroll throughout the Castello apartment's olive grove.

Other Activities: Cooking classes, Dinners, Bikes.
