This was exactly what we needed for our getaway. You get the feeling of being very remote but at the same time it is a great spot to go see and do many fun things in the area. It was very enjoyable to go sit out on the back porch and enjoy the peace and quiet. If we were planning another trip to the area we would definitely consider staying here again!
A great place to stay
Very clean and the wine and bread they left was awesome !!
Thanks for a enjoyable stay !!
it was exactly what we wanted for our visit to the area
we had business in sacramento and for us, the 45-minute drive in was well worth the calm we got not just from staying at the house, but the drive in once we got off the freeway. The foothills are beautiful and we got a special treat when we woke up to light snow on the oak branches.
And it was very swell sitting outside at night listening to two owls having some kind of discussion with one in a tree near the house and the other waaaay across the valley.
One suggestion would be to provide a bit more fluffy of towels and wash cloths in the bathrooms.
It was a perfect low key and casual place to land and hang for families.
We stayed after a day at apple hill- it was the perfect place for 2 families with kids to make dinner and unwind and hang out and relax for a night..
House is tucked down a dirt road , and even the drive it self getting there sets the mood to unwind and relax- down long winding roads with trees lining the way.
The house was quite and cozy and perfect for our needs.
Autumn splendor at Grandma's house
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The beauty of the setting with the Fall colors was breathtaking! The house is clean, cozy and welcoming. We had plenty of sleeping options, all of them comfortable. There was also enough outdoor seating for us to congregate on the back porch and bask in the perfect weather.
The owners left concise instructions that answered any questions we may have had before we needed to ask them. Upon arriving we had two neighbors stop by to offer any help to us about the house or the area. We felt cared for on several levels.
Thank you for everything! It was an important weekend for us as my son was getting married nearby. Your place felt like a home away from home. And because there was absolutely nothing about using your property that went amiss, the whole weekend will remain a warm, wonderful and happy memory for the entire family for the rest of our lives!
God bless you,
Awh,,, thank you so much for the glowing review.. we truly feel blessed by living in this wonderful rural setting and are happy to make the travelers experiences as we would want ours to be...A home away from home comfortable stay with memories for a lifetime.
Blessings to you and your family!

Comfortable quiet getaway
We just had a great three-night stand at this Lotus estate.
The house is cozy, well kept and has everything one needs.
The owners are very nice and helpful. (tip for the owners: sharpen the kitchen knives)
The area around is rural, peaceful and charming.
Groceries are circa 25 minutes away.
Nearby attractions: rafting, lakes, parks with trails and wineries with beautiful views.
There are local wineries in the Coloma Valley. Apple Hill opens the end of August and there are crafters, food vendors, as well as lots of Apple Farms. Placerville is a fun town to shop and eat. Placerville Hardware store is a must see. One of the oldest Hardware stores around.
Also, Gold Bug Mine in Placerville is another Historic site.
