Large, interior designed, 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, penthouse apartment sleeps 5.

A mere 3 minutes walk from the famous Puerto Banus, and the golden beaches of Marbella, lies the La Alcazaba development with it's lush well renowned tropical gardens. Nestled in the far corner away from the hustle and bustle of the pool is a very spacious well appointed 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom (sleeps 5) top floor, corner apartment with a large terrace overlooking the treetops. The apartment has air conditioning and heating throughout along with an open plan living area, television with Sky, DVD and surround sound Hi-Fi system. fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. There are 4 large interconnecting pools, including one for children and babies. 2 on-site restaurants, an indoor health club, 24 hour security and reception. Private parking. Excellent shops and restaurants very close by, tennis club next door and more than 20 world renowned golf courses in the vicinity.

- Internet

We have just installed a super duper 40 Meg high speed internet connection to the apartment, which so fast that all the TV is now run through it... Say goodbye to the typical dreadful internet connection in Spain which started to become almost unusable, particularly if you wanted to do some work while on holiday. There is also now free wifi around the pool, so you will never be out of touch..

Apartment was very positive surprise even you told that it is nice. Beds were really good which is very important if you stay a longer time. Location, PERFECT! Garden was beautiful and pool area with the services really worked. If I come to Puerto BanusB again, this is the place where I want to stay : ) The information package what the owner sent us was more than practical and we used it a lot.

Excellent, home from home.

Having arrived on a light flight we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and welcoming the apartment was, the gentlemen on reception was cheerful and very helpful.

After settling in after 1 night the boys were very relaxed in their surroundings and proceeded to have a wonderful week. Suze and Rob were very helpful and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok, all the information provided was exceptional and made it very easy to relax into our holiday. The facilities restaurant and Aurora and family were very warm and welcoming and made our boys feel very happy and at ease with the surroundings. This is a stunning location that families and couples could equally enjoy with ease.

Great place in Puerto Banus

We spent 10 days in La Alcazaba and can only highly recommend it. The apartment was very clean and very well maintained. Restaurants are plenty and good in the area, but cooking at home was also a breeze with a well equipped kitchen and a fantastic supermarket within walking distance.

Nice pool area, a friendly tennis club across the street, so also lots to do for kids.

Service from the owners were top notch. Very clear information about how everything worked, deposit paid back immediately upon return - no complaints.

Beautifully decorated apartment, great location!

We had absolutely fantastic christmasholiday in this beautifully decorated and spacious apartment. The garden in Alcazaba was gorgeous and very well- maintained as well as the apartment. We especially enjoyed the kitchen, there was everything you could wish for, great De Longhi coffee machine and even juicer! The area and apartment felt very secure. Everything is near, great beaches, cafes, restaurants (even in winter) and what a wonderfull way to start a day jogging along the beautiful Golden Mile beach walk.

Marbella Apartment

The apartment was centrally located to Puerto Banus, beaches, restaurants and shopping. The complex was quiet and the pool and grounds were beautiful. The accommodations were lovely and comfortable. The kitchen was very well appointed and easy to use. Lots of books and DVDs! We would definitely recommend!

Simply the Best

As others have said, this is a beautiful and spacious apartment with all you need in a great location with reliable, helpful owners. Notice the thoughtful touches such as the water filter. What a relief not to lug all those plastic bottles of drinking water from the grocery store then face the challenge of recycling them! The kitchen is well designed. There are power strips and converters so that you can easily charge your electronics. There is always plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The clothes dryer may not be important during a week in mid summer, but it was a blessing in winter when clothes hung outside took over a day to dry. The queen bed has a nice firm mattress. (Many Spanish rentals have narrower double beds or two twins pushed together rather than king or queen mattresses.) The second bedroom has its own small television and is just far enough away for everyone to have a little privacy, but not so far that younger children would be uncomfortable. And if the listing says “not suitable for the elderly” imagine yourself, however young and fit, with luggage, bags of groceries, and/or a toddler in arms heading up hills and stairs. Elevators have their uses.

Best of all, this apartment is decorated with creativity, warmth, and humor. The terrace is beautiful, even in the middle of winter, and is the focal point of the large living room/lounge. The walls are hung with real art. It’s just fun to be in the midst of it, like a favorite bed and breakfast instead of a Holiday Inn. For my husband and I this was a big factor in how much we loved and were refreshed by our winter in Spain.

The nearby beach is one of the most beautiful on the Costa del Sol. It is on the other side of town/harbor from the narrow strip of beach that hosts the bikini-bars-for-the-rich-and famous for which Puerto Banus is known.

Costa del Sol rentals can be in complexes so large and beehive like that you have no idea what country you are in. In winter such places can seem like ghost villages so empty that you worry for your safety. Alcazaba has the advantages of security, a reception office, private pool with garden, and safe, off-street parking, but the scale is human. It’s a nice mix of visitors and long-term residents. The location directly adjacent to an actual town is much nicer than one of the communities created within the last few decades solely to house tourists and retirees.

Staying for 7 weeks certainly does stress test any apartment, particularly in winter and I think we generally came up trumps, not that there weren't any hiccups, luckily only minor. But hopefully we resolved these fairly quickly, even while we were on holiday in India. Our always in touch service is what we pride ourselves in, not least the wonderful staff at Alcazaba !!!, Having lovely guests who appreciate all the effort we have put into the apartment certainly does help though.... Just to clarify there is a lift to the apartment !!!

Holiday in Puerto Banus in winter

My wife and me decided to spend this year a big part of the winter in Spain. Two weeks of it we were in this beautiful apartment in Puerto Banus. We found the location perfect situated, because all important shops, the harbour and the beach are only a few walking minutes away. So we did not need the car. The apartment itself is absolutely top equipped. We really missed nothing.

This apartment we can also recommend during the winter time, because

it is really confortable and quickly warm with the heating system.

With Suze we had a very good contact, either by phone or by mail.

The apartment truly must be in the most perfect location, set in a tropical paradise of award winning gardens and yet only 5 minutes walk from the world famous Puerto Banus, with its vast selection of shops, restaurants, clubs and boats! A place to be seen and also to people watch! Just 3 minutes to the golden beaches that stretch for miles in each direction, walk the promenade all the way to Marbella town, stop at a tapas bar along the way, enjoy the water sports on offer at numerous locations. The tennis club is just out side Alcazaba, it has flood lit courts during the summer months. The golf courses in the area are legendary, but you can also drive into the mountain to ski or visit ancient sites, Take a trip to Gibraltar or a ferry to Tangier.

- La Alcazaba

What sets The Alcazaba Development apart from all others on the coast, apart from it having the oldest and most established gardens, is its proximity to everything. In the last 20 years of going to Alcazaba, we have never had to hire a car. This is probably because I am one of those lazy types who spends most of his time either lolling by the pool, walking on the beach, or in the Port, all of which are a few minutes walk from the apartment.

- Puerto Banus 5 minutes walk away..

Puerto Banus a shoppers paradise, from top of the range designers to the more humdrum, or if you can't find what you are looking for in the port, there is always Corte Ingles (the equivalent to Selfridges in London), again only a few minutes walk away. With everything under the sun, including a supermarket the size of two football pitches, with its wet fish, meat, fresh vegetable section, delicatessen, bakery.... the list goes on and on, and if you don't feel like hauling your shopping back to the flat, don't worry there are plenty of taxis available for about £5-6, or you can use their free delivery service is you spend more than £100. Remember to take your id with you if you are paying by credit card.

- Restaurants

Whether you are looking for a cheap meal out at Jacks American Brasserie serving pizza's and hamburgers, or are in the mood to really push the boat out, Puerto Banus has every conceivable restaurant type for you, from the Finest French / Swedish Cuisine at Los Bandidos, Wonderful traditional Greek / Lebanese food at The Red pepper, Superb Indian at Khans, Sushi at Sushi Banus, you really will be spoilt for choice, there are literally 100's of restuarants to choose from. Those mentioned are our favourites and have been around for the last 20 years which really says something about the quality of their food, and what a pleasant experience it is going there.. We have recently discovered a wonderful Thai restaurant called Naga, right next door to Cortez Ingles on the other side of The Cristamar Shopping Centre which you walk past going to the port.

- Night Clubs

Puerto Banus certainly is the place to party with many clubs staying open almost the whole night. Probably one of the most famous bars in the port is Sinatra's which is at the top of the port right on the water front overlooking the large gin palace boats.

Once you are well oiled, there are a whole host of clubs and piano bars in the next street behind... too numerous to mention. Hope you have a great time...and don't indulge too much.
