Les Cabanes is a restored stone built farmhouse set in 2 acres of mown grass and woodland. Exposed beams throughout. There is a farmhouse kitchen (with dishwasher), sitting room and separate snug (with satellite TV) & dining room, 3 double bedrooms (2 en-suite) and 2 twin-bedrooms (1 en-suite). 1 more family bathroom. Utility room with washing machine and 2nd fridge/freezer. Bose CD sound. The 8m x 4m heated pool area is terraced and has a covered BBQ & eating area set within a walled ruined barn providing total privacy. Maximum occupancy 8 persons plus baby. You have exclusive use of the entire property and pool. WiFi available free- of- charge.

Excellent in every way..

Great time with two lots of friends on separate weeks. We loved the house and pool and were reluctant to be away from it for too long. All that we needed and more beside...highly recommended...and great help from Mark and Adele...not least the tip about the wine tasting meal...superb...!

Delightful!

We had a wonderful time at Les Cabanes. The secluded stone house dates all the way back to the 12th century, yet it has been beautifully maintained and updated with all the modern amenities, including wifi, a heated pool, and English television.

We enjoyed breakfasts on the kitchen terrace, nearby vineyards, markets and chateaus, and grilling by the pool in the afternoons. A highlight of our stay was the six-course dinner at Madame Moutier's, where we were served delicious local specialties and regional wines. Afterwards, we were driven home by the lovely Adele and capable Mark. We highly recommend Les Cabanes!

Fabulous summer holiday

What a lovely home from home. Set in large grounds with fruit trees, and a visiting family of deer. Stunning pool area, and the house is well equipped and spacious, with lots of little areas to relax. Perfect location for visiting pretty villages, vineyards and only 20 mins from the airport. Mark and Adele exceptionally helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Excellent propety in a fantastic tranquil setting.

It is difficult to know where to start with regards to this property, to echo another reviewer the details of the property ought to point out that the pool is in a separate, perfectly enclosed area with a huge bar-b-que and covered dining area that was simply perfect for our large family.

It is only a few yards from the main body of the house but provides a great secluded area that the kids could play safely and securely without running in and out of the house and they could play right up until late evening while we cooked on the bar-b.

The house itself is huge, spacious and well appointed, nice and cool in the evenings and has everything you need to run and occupy a family of two adults and five children for a week.

Ideally for us the nearest shops (small supermarket, tabac and pâtisserie) was 6k away but we found lots of markets and things to do within 15 mins drive including a lovely evening market at Eymet only ten minutes’ drive away. A huge hypermarket at Bergerac was only 25 mins in the car which was great for the main shopping.

So the house is fantastic, the location idyllic and the pool area was perfect, but what really set this rental apart from the others we have visited over the years was the friendly, informative and helpful way we were greeted by Mark and Adel who look after the property. While they were in no way intrusive, we were made to feel very welcome and very well looked after if we needed any help. They know the area very, very well and are well worth quizzing about local restaurants and amenities.

Beautiful house

Our stay in Les Cabanes was really enjoyable (despite 7 days of rain!). It was clean and had everything you need. Mark & Adele were really helpful and friendly and sorted out any issues that came up. I'd definitely recommend Les Cabanes to friends and family who want an entirely peaceful holiday, any sign of life is a drive away so you have to enjoy your own company! The separate pool/barbecue area is a real asset, lovely to sit out in the evenings, the only downside is that the pool isn't heated so when we went in May it was freezing. The children went in once to try it but came out blue! A bit of sun and a warmer pool and it would have been perfect.

Les Cabanes is 20 km SW of Bergerac, only 20 minutes drive from the airport. The nearest shops are at Sigoules (6km) with an excellent new Supermarket, Post Office, Newsagent and several other stores. There are many good restaurants within a 30 minute drive. This is a lovely rural area with several Bastide towns within easy reach.

Other Activities: wine-tasting, go-karting.

Golf: High quality golf at Chateau Les Vigiers (18 holes) is 10 minutes drive away. There is an excellent 9-hole Course called Chateau Les Merles at Creysse (near Beregerac) and another at Tombe Boeuf (near Lauzun). Both these are about 40 minutes drive and the Green Fee about €25.
