Charming, relaxing private getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely family vacation in New Marlborough. The house is well-equipped with just about all the essentials. We cooked and enjoyed the open floor plan of the living room with its huge windows. We didn't use the writer's cottage but could imagine it being perfect for its intended use. The house is nicely suited for two couples and kids. We especially enjoyed the nature walks that were walking distance from the house. Be sure to check out the beautiful Umpachene Falls (along with its well-kept grassy park).

Exceeded our expectations

  • 5 of 5

We were two families travelling from Australia. After a hectic week and a half in New York, three days in this gorgeous house was very relaxing and restorative. Deb has thought of everything to make a short stay as comfortable as possible, from a well-stocked kitchen to videos and board games, all kinds of books, firewood, even toothpaste for those who forget theirs!

We loved exploring the towns and villages nearby (great thrift and antique shops!), walking through the forests and hills, and along rivers with evocative names.

Thanks Deb, we hope to come back again soon!

Highly recommend this home for families looking to relax in a quiet setting!

  • 5 of 5

Deb and Tony provided us with all the ingredients to an enjoyable winter retreat! The house was perfect for our ski getaway/ extended family reunion. This property oozes charm and had everything we needed for a comfortable family vacation. Thanks to Deb and Tony for also providing us with great hospitality, cookies and welcome note upon our arrival, along with extensive information about the house and the local area (things to do, places to shop and eat, and recommended hikes). Thank you! Highly recommend!

Lovely, peaceful, well appointed home in the Berkshires

  • 5 of 5

My family (teenagers and some extended family who stopped in) enjoyed the location and the home. Deb's recommendations for eating, shopping, etc. were spot on. Although I grew up in New England, I had not vacationed in the Berkshires before. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

Great vacation spot to explore The Birkshires!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of young adult children and parents wanting to explore the Berkshires. We were there for one week in August. Loved everything about this property. Nestled in the woods with easy access to Great Barrington, Tanglewood, MassMOCA, Stockton and lots of hiking. The house was very clean with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. The house was comfortable with great outdoor space; from the fire pit to the small cabin in the back of the property (our sons' favorite spot), to the decking and screened in porch. The birdwatching was quite entertaining.

Deb - the owner was so helpful providing information about the area and very responsive to any questions.

We found great local restaurants and enjoyed walking to the waterfalls and marshlands nearby.

Would recommend this to families with or without children. We would stay here again if we returned to the area.

A true gem.

Car: necessary

Home is steps from a nature preserve with pond and established walking trail to a separate sleeping cabin. It's a short walk to the beautiful Umpachene Falls.
