Charming but roomy place in peaceful Normandy countryside.

  • 5 of 5

I would recommend anyone to stay here. The place is terrific, everything is as advertised. Plenty to do around this area of Normandy and what a peaceful location to come back to after a day's exploring!

Peter was also very helpful in providing all the information we needed. Thanks!

Delightful property and extensive grounds.

  • 5 of 5

We stopped in the main building with our three boys, 9, 11 and 16 in August 2015 for 11 nights. It was our first holiday in France and the owner, Peter Ling, provided us with lots of good advice on getting there, places to go and things to do.

The property is an absolute delight, retaining all its original features and surrounded by extensive grounds – perfect for families. Our boys spent hours outside bouncing on the trampoline, splashing in the pool, family rules rounders and playing football till dark. There is a pond to the side of the house where we had great fun spotting the resident turtle and trying our hand at a spot of fishing.

There is also a barn which has table football, darts and table tennis – no time to be bored! When younger ones are having some quiet time, the gardens are a perfect place to relax with a book and enjoy a wee glass.

The house is well maintained, clean and has everything you will need for your stay. An extensively equipped kitchen, pool table, games, books and a huge collection of old VHS cassettes which provided some great nostalgia. Archie, our middle son, plays piano so we also enjoyed a few evening sing-alongs!

The local village, St Julien-le-Faucon is a pleasant five minutes walk, where there are a few shops which can meet all your needs, along with two small bars and a restaurant.

Normandy itself offered endless places to visit and explore. The house has a great residents’ book which offers lots of tips on where to go.

La Cour aux Granges gets our definite recommendation and we certainly hope to return.

Owner's Response: Nick and his family were great guests and are welcome back any time. We are always pleased when other people love our second home as much as we do, and I could not have described it better myself! Glad you had a good time. Peter and Kathryn

A beautiful farmhouse in an amazing setting.

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time we have been to this property (the main house)as we had such an amazing time there!

The house, grounds and facilities are perfect for a relaxing family holiday. The pools, swings, piano, pool table and fishing lake kept the kids entertained. It's like a home away from home. A pleasant 5 minute walk takes you to a friendly village with a bakery, butcher and small grocery store.

We will definitely be back for a third visit!

Très beau Séjour

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: Serge and his family were excellent guests, who left the house in excellent condition, and tidied up, leaving less for my housekeeper to do! We are delighted they enjoyed their stay and made the most of what the house offers. We would welcome Serge back any time!

Wonderful authentic rustic house - every bit as charming as it looks on the photos.

  • 5 of 5

A delightful house in an idyllic rural setting. Ideal for a country get-away and yet easily within reach of so many different tourist attractions in Normandy. Peter was a consummate host who responded immediately to all our queries and requests, for example a slight problem with the internet was solved very quickly. Everything worked really well and we warmly recommend it for everyone!

ruim, rustige ligging.

  • 4 of 5

Heerlijke week gehad!

Swiss Normandy is half an hour’s distance just beyond William the Conqueror's home town of Falaise. Historians may also wish to visit the Bayeux Tapestry. Nearer in the same direction, at St Pierre sur Dives, there is a huge market every Monday - just 15 minutes away.

St Julien le Faucon is just 40 minutes from the ferry at Ouistreham Caen and the same distance from the famous beaches of Deauville and Trouville, the Cote Fleurie and the old port of Honfleur. To the west lie the D-Day landing beaches and the museums and memorials of the second world war.
