Description

South Rehoboth House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 12-16)

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

NB: To avoid the crush of weekend changeover traffic during high season, our home rents exclusively from midweek to midweek. For the summer months of 2017, that will be Wednesday to Wednesday.

Charm. Space. Privacy. Location, location, location.

Experience gracious Mid-Atlantic beach house living in a cottage filled with whitewashed beadboard, planked floors and broad, comfortable porches. This rambling 90-year home has everything you want: historic charm, modern amenities, and a prime location just steps away from the beach and South Rehoboth’s historic boardwalk.

The two-story Main House sleeps up to ten with three bedrooms, one den, and one and a half baths. It features a broad screened-in front porch, an open floor plan, and a versatile kitchen suited for snacking or entertaining. The back deck provides alfresco dining space and an oversized hot tub perfect for relaxing with friends in shaded privacy. And the fenced-in back yard is a beautiful tree-canopied haven for an afternoon in a hammock, a game of croquet or a relaxing shower under open sky.

The converted Carriage House comfortably sleeps up to four with one bedroom and one bath. Just steps away from the Main House back deck, it provides a secluded escape with private access off the fenced-in yard.

And you won’t find a better location in South Rehoboth. Silver lake is 50 yards to the west, and the beach and boardwalk are 100 yards to the east, giving you easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and downtown Rehoboth’s myriad dining and entertainment options.

The Main House is dog-friendly. Out of consideration for our guests who may have allergies, we ask that the Carriage House remain pet-free.

Experience Rehoboth Beach the way vacationing families and friends have done for generations. The house is available year-round for select weeks. Please note that in order to avoid weekend traffic, our house rents from Wednesdays to Wednesdays during the high-season, summer months.

Great communication, location, and amenities

  • 5 of 5

Communication: It was easy to communicate with the owner before and during our stay. He answered questions promptly and provided detailed move-in/move-out instructions.

Location: close to beach (we walked there without shoes) and southern end of the boardwalk (no streets to cross en route). This house is walking distance from Rehoboth Avenue’s shops and restaurants. We didn't use our car once we parked it in the driveway, except for an initial grocery run along Rt. 1.

Amenities: we enjoyed the outdoor shower, hot tub, and a larger-than-expected backyard with a fence. We also enjoyed the newer appliances, such as the Cuisinart coffee maker that could grind fresh beans or use coffee grounds and the high efficiency washer/dryer combo. Both were nicer than our appliances at home. Yet the house was family-friendly with movies, games, and books for young children. We gratefully used a wagon (found in the shed) to haul our stuff to the beach each day.

This house's outdoor areas really expanded the living space. The back deck was large with a full-sized table and gas grill. We spent a lot of time in the screened-in front porch, which had ceiling fans and lights and ample seating. Plus there was another deck on the second floor with great views.

Amazing Location

  • 5 of 5

The house was truly in the best location. Just houses away from the beach and on the end of the boardwalk. Even on the busiest beach days our stretch of beach down at the end of the board walk was not overly crowded. The street is very quiet and it was nice not to have to deal with tons of people running out in front of cars. Neighbors were incredibly friendly. The house was in great condition. The guest house was awesome to give a little more privacy to our extra guest. It is almost impossible to find a house with a yard this close to the beach but this home had that and it was perfectly fenced in for my dogs! The main house was very nice and clean. We did have some trouble with ants but that may have been from earlier renters. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend renting this house.

Owner's Response: We're glad you had a great week, Brittany, and that the location worked for you and your family. Sorry about the ants! Houses this close to the beach usually get ants in late spring and mid-August, but this year the August ants arrived early -- maybe it was the heat. We have a service contract with an exterminator, but we ask them to use a light touch, both because of our concern for kids and pets and also because the ant visits tend to be short-lived.

Great location at Rehoboth

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this property. It's an easy walk to the beach, about half a block. Yet this street is quiet and relaxed, and a perfect place to unwind on the front porch or covered roof. Located at the tail end of the boardwalk, it's less crowded on the beach here, with a quick walk taking you to the heart of the shopping areas. While Rehoboth has many great restaurants, with the well-appointed kitchen and open floor plan, we also really enjoyed making our own meals together. Our family will be happy to return in the future.

a great vacation house for the family

  • 5 of 5

Communication with the owner was excellent and the home was in the perfect location. This was a family vacation with three generations - the layout of the rooms and guest house worked very well. We enjoyed the porch and the backyard. We would definitely rent this home again. We particularly liked that it was in a quiet part of the beach but within walking distance of the center of the boardwalk.

Charming, well-located beach cottage

  • 5 of 5

Cozy, well-appointed beach cottage is a perfect retreat for two. Well-organized and well-maintained property has the perfect amount of everything - screened porch, sun porch, back yard hot tub, easy walk to the beach.

Perfect Location; Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful house is located literally within steps of the beach and close to downtown shopping , dining and sights. Despite being so close to everything, the street is quiet, especially at night when the beachgoers head home . You can truly relax here after you've enjoyed all the shopping, dining and clubs and need to unwind. The house is fully equipped and just the right size to give you space without feeling cramped or too big. The hot tub was a nice added bonus to enjoy in the evening. The neighbors who are year-rounders are very friendly and helpful. Definitely a home we would rent again.
