About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Charm. Space. Privacy. Location, location, location.

Experience gracious Mid-Atlantic beach house living in a cottage filled with whitewashed beadboard, planked floors and broad, comfortable porches. This rambling 90-year home has everything you want: historic charm, modern amenities, and a prime location just steps away from the beach and South Rehoboth’s historic boardwalk.

The two-story Main House sleeps up to eight with three bedrooms, one den, and one and a half baths. It features a broad screened-in front porch, an open floor plan, and a versatile kitchen suited for snacking or entertaining. The back deck provides alfresco dining space and an oversized hot tub perfect for relaxing with friends in shaded privacy. And the fenced-in back yard is a beautiful tree-canopied haven for an afternoon in a hammock, a game of croquet or a relaxing shower under open sky.

The converted Carriage House comfortably sleeps four to six with two bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, and one bath. Just steps away from the Main House back deck, it provides a secluded escape with private access off the fenced-in yard.

And you won’t find a better location in South Rehoboth. Silver lake is 50 yards to the west, and the beach and boardwalk are 100 yards to the east, giving you easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and downtown Rehoboth’s myriad dining and entertainment options.

Both the Main House and the Carriage House are dog and cat friendly for friendly dogs and cats.

Experience Rehoboth Beach the way vacationing families and friends have done for generations. The house is available year-round for select weeks. Please note that in order to avoid weekend traffic, our house generally rents from midweek to mid week. During the 2018 season, that will be Tuesdays to Tuesdays. In the off-season, we offer renters some flexibility, however, so contact the owners should you care to reserve different days.

Great beach house!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this property, particularly because it worked so well for our family.

It's an older, original house with character, that is lovingly maintained and updated. (Most houses on this block are tear downs with monstrous rebuilds.) There are 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths in the main house with great decks, porches and a fenced in yard. The kitchen, living room and dining area are open and flow well. There is also a carriage house out back with two open floor plans including a full bath and a kitchenette. The carriage house worked perfectly for our college age daughter and a few of her friends! My wife, I and our two younger children (and faithful dog) occupied the main house.

The owners are very laid back and hospitable, which is refreshing. We felt like guests of friends; it was very much a case of "mi casa es su casa".

Finally, the house sits on the last (Southernmost) beach block in Rehoboth, adjacent to Silver Lake. As such, the beach is far less crowded than most of Rehoboth. (Of course, if you know Rehoboth well this part of the beach is virtually all men on the weekends, which is no problem unless you have a problem.) It is about a half mile up the boardwalk to Funland and the Rehoboth Avenue shops and restaurants.

I would highly recommend this property, and plan on returning next summer!

Great vacation!

  • 4 of 5

Mostly everything went smoothly, a few problems: unable to use hot tub the last 4 days due to water quality, the upstairs shower unable to use due to a leak, screen door in front needs fixing - letting in lots of flies. But great vacation house, super location! We appreciated the detailed "instructions" for everything, very thoughtful. so nice to have two bikes available, plus lots of beach chairs and umbrellas.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Nina, for the review. We've now increased our hot tub service to twice a week to account for heavy guest usage (the hot tub really is wonderful). The screen door is now fixed (no more flies), and we've updated our "Move-in/Move-out Instructions" to make sure guests know how to position the bypass sliding doors when showering in that bathroom. We hope to see you next year and that we get five stars!

Great communication, location, and amenities

  • 5 of 5

Communication: It was easy to communicate with the owner before and during our stay. He answered questions promptly and provided detailed move-in/move-out instructions.

Location: close to beach (we walked there without shoes) and southern end of the boardwalk (no streets to cross en route). This house is walking distance from Rehoboth Avenue’s shops and restaurants. We didn't use our car once we parked it in the driveway, except for an initial grocery run along Rt. 1.

Amenities: we enjoyed the outdoor shower, hot tub, and a larger-than-expected backyard with a fence. We also enjoyed the newer appliances, such as the Cuisinart coffee maker that could grind fresh beans or use coffee grounds and the high efficiency washer/dryer combo. Both were nicer than our appliances at home. Yet the house was family-friendly with movies, games, and books for young children. We gratefully used a wagon (found in the shed) to haul our stuff to the beach each day.

This house's outdoor areas really expanded the living space. The back deck was large with a full-sized table and gas grill. We spent a lot of time in the screened-in front porch, which had ceiling fans and lights and ample seating. Plus there was another deck on the second floor with great views.
