Relaxing riverside retreat
A great apartment in a wonderful location. We had all the basics we needed to self cater – though highly recommend popping to the lovely creperie in Collias (a very short walk away). The space is clean and very well organised. Good sized pool for cooling off and plenty of spaces to sit in sun or shade. We loved sitting out and seeing the river, particularly on a warm evening. This is the one place in France we have returned to, in part due to the friendly, welcoming atmosphere Allie has created. It is easy to get to cities such as Avignon, Nimes and Arles for trips, plus there are plenty of pretty little villages close by to explore. Highly recommended!
Tranquil and Beautiful
Beautiful friendly small village location.
Les Loriots is gorgeous with stunning views over the river.
I loved it here. Just beautiful.
Our apartment was lovely and clean. I knew it was small when I booked but it is functional and great for 2people.
Short walk down drive to the stunning river and walk along it. I seen beavers and was totally impressed with the stunning scenery.
I'm in love with this place and will definitely be back.
Allie is also lovely. She gave lots of ideas of where to go. I fell in love with Uzes.
Lovely, relaxing stay in Collier. You have a beautiful spot, Allie.
Nest with a wonderful view / Nest mit Aussicht
We spent two very relaxing weeks in the pretty little paradise at the end of august 2014 - and we will be happy to visit it again any time!
The hostess is very helpful and kind! Granted: It's a small apartment, but really cozy and without any problems for a familiar pair. The setting is lovely: Every day we enjoyed the view from our little "breakfast terrace" in the East and from the terrace in the west to the Gardon Valley - gorgeous! Everything was clean, the interior is cozy and the pool offers refreshment and physical activity. To whom the enjoyment of sunshine and quietness, the view of the valley and the herons on the river should not be sufficient, may drink excellent wine in Collias at the winegrowers "Les Cabotines", may drive to the nearby romantic Uzés and visit the colorful market! The kayak trip up to the cave La Baumes is a wonderful adventure, the Pont du Gard, Nimes and Avignon are also not far ...
We are happy to visit Les Loriots again! Best wishes to Allie!
Herzliche Grüße an Allie!
A Little Treasure
A little treasure overlooking the most amazingly beautiful river. Very clean. Very comfortable. Very reasonable price. Great swimming pool - you feel as if you're in the river as you see it just below you when you swim. Plenty of great things to see and do with Allie's help, who is a great host.
The village of Collias has restaurants, a boulangerie and local supermarkets all within 3 minutes walk of the house. In this area of outstanding, natural beauty you can walk for hours along the banks of the Gardon. You can take a picnic and find your own private beach for a swim, on foot, by canoe or even by bicycle. There are numerous beautiful birds along the river and other wild-life. You can even see beavers if you know where to look.
Languedoc and Western Provence is a terrific region, just full of Wonderful things to do and places to see.
The magnificent Pont du Gard, which is the largest Roman aqueduct in Europe, is just 6 kilometers east and is accessible by car or by canoe. The beautiful 11th century town of Uzes is 12 kilometers away and boasts amongst its many old buildings a splendid castle and cathedral. The wonderful Place aux Herbes with its old cafes, shops and restaurants has a Saturday market which is one of the most popular and colourful in the region.
Avignon and Nimes, Montpellier, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier the Camargue and the Mediterranean are all nearby. There are also long white Mediterranean beaches within an hour's drive, and they are less known and therefore not nearly as crowded as the beaches on the Cote d'Azur, 'though they just as pretty.
Other Activities: canoeing.
