A rustic beach cottage just steps from the water in beautiful Grantham's Landing. Arrive here in just five minutes on disembarking the ferry at Langdale terminal. This location offers solitude and relaxation as you take in views of the North Shore Mountains, Keats Island and beyond. Take a leisurely 15 minute walk along the beach into the charming village of Gibsons Landing and dine at Molly's Reach, where the Canadian TV series 'The Beachcombers' was filmed.. The cottage has an open concept plan with one queen size bed, full kitchen and one bathroom with shower. Upon request, you can be provided with fresh baked croissants and pastries from the owner's local bakeshop to start your day. Take in the natural surroundings on nearby walking/hiking trails and on the water in a kayak.
Arriving from Dubai, my partner Andrew and I decided to make the Sunshine Coast home in 2010. We have never looked back!
Leslie Thomson purchased this cottage in 2011
A property with great history and character.
Romantic waterfront getaway; swimming, kayaking, beach-combing or just sitting back and taking in the spectacular views. LGBT friendly.
If you are looking for some piece and quiet close to the ocean, this is it! Cute Little cottage with everything you need. Short walk to Gibsons. Relaxing seating options to sit and relax while enjoying the view from the deck. Friendly hosts and quiet neighbours. We hope to return one day!
My wife and I stayed two nights at the Beach Cottage in July 2016 and highly recommend this place for a couple to relax and unwind. The property is directly on the beach with a nice covered porch overlooking the beach and the community wharf, which is great for swimming from. The room itself has a comfortable bed that looks right out onto the beach and dotted island views. There is a full kitchen which we only used for keeping our beer cold, and making coffee in the morning. Speaking of coffee, Leslie (one of the owners) provided us with coffee and baked goods which were amazing.
The town of lower Gibson's is a nice community geared towards boaters and locals alike. From the cottage we were able to walk into town along the road (1.5km) and along the shore when the tide was out. In town you will find a good selection of restaurants/bars/etc. Be sure to check out the Persiphone Brewery located about 5 minutes away.
We highly recommend this place, and the Sunshine coast in general.
Impossible to be any closer to the water, unless your on a boat. Very accomadating hosts, with our 2 small dogs. Bakery treats brought right to the door. Would stay here again.
Couldn't ask for a lovlier location. We started to relax the moment we sat down on the porch just feet away from the lapping water.
Les and Andrew were great hosts starting with a box of morning pastries from their bakery accompanied by a small bag of ground coffee and a carton of cream. This treat lasted our entire stay and was a delightful way to start each day.
The cottage is basic but the bed was great (firm wiith soft sheets and a cozy duvet).
Our dogs were in heaven with free run of the beach and relaxed neighbors.
We'll be back!
The lovely VRBO cottage where we stayed and rejuvenated ourselves during our excursions this past week. We listened to the gentle waves, captured some field recordings, and strolled along the #sunshinecoast line. Les and Andrew are incredible hosts. They provided helpful tips on local history, sightseeing and even gave us a box of pastries made at their bakery to celebrate our honeymoon. After we got stranded on Vancouver (twice) and missed the ferries, they offered extra assistance so that we could make our flight out of Vancouver the next day. We now have friends on Sunshine Coast and look forward to visiting them on the Coast again.
Our favourite vacation weekend away from Vancouver. Lovely place, great hosts. We rode bikes, walked into town (and learned to pay attention to the tide chart for the walk home in the dark : ) and generally spent a lot of time staring out at the ocean. Can't wait to visit again.
Arrive by float plane to our dock or by car or bicycle via BC Ferries
