Old Bend Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom; In the heart of Bend

Recently restored historic, Mill house, downtown Bend. This home is a quick few blocks to downtown shops, great restaurants, galleries, and only a 15 minute walk to the Old Mill District. The Deschutes River and Drake Park, hiking and biking trails, kayaking and tubing are just a short walk away. Mt. Bachelor ski resort is only a 30 minutes drive. A newly remodeled Safeway grocery store is 3 blocks away. We are a couple blocks from an awesome bike rental shop and The Taco Stand - a hidden gem and locals' favorite.

Perched on a rock outcropping on a corner lot, facing south, overlooking the old mill area. In the heart of it all.

Other amenities include a gas fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, large bathroom with double sinks. Each bedroom has its own wall mounted TV (with Netflix) and a queen size bed.

About Linda Brundage

We've always had a passion for building and renovating homes, and gardening. We relocated from Corvallis to Bend in 1990, and have never looked back. We raised our daughter here, and consider Bend to be our home.

Linda Brundage purchased this bungalow in 2000

Why Linda Brundage chose Bend

A realtor friend found this property for us. It was a diminutive 447 square feet with a sagging roof, windows askew, and no foundation! And so of course, we fell in love with it and had to have it. Of all the building/remodeling projects we've ever taken on, this is the one we knew was special. After much research, planning, and conversations with the local Historic Society, we embarked on the adventure of restoring (and adding to...) the property. This home is a true gem. We are proud to offer it as a vacation rental; your temporary home away from home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My family and I stayed here recently and had such a lovely time. The home was incredibly clean, and fully stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. It was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. It was also very close to downtown Bend and we walked to breakfast and dinner every day during our stay. We will definitely book this home again next summer for our yearly trip to Bend.

nice 7-day stay early aug2016

  • 5 of 5

--good location only 15 min walk to downtown. lindas cottage very clean & well equipped. neighborhood little ruff w/many near-abandoned cars/boats parked on streets -- some on blocks. am surprised city of bend allows these vehicles to be parked for obviously long periods of time. however neighborhood quite & seemed safe.

--central oregon has much to offer w/several natl parks &/or natl monuments. many scenic drives around area. high desert museum a must see. probably need @ least 5 days to see all. bend has good farmers markets & downtown weekly munch/music @ drake park.

--overall very nice 7 day stay 2-9aug16. we came from tx to escape the typical hot weather & central oregon came thru nicely w/comfy dry weather.

Beautiful house and the location is unbeatable!

  • 5 of 5

Outstanding! The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Lots of options for entertainment. If you are looking to explore the city of Bend, the walkability factor is off the charts! Just a few blocks from great shopping, restaurants, tons of breweries. The gorgeous riverfront park is a few minutes' walk away as well!

There are tons of fun activities in and around Bend, whether floating down the Deschutes, checking out the lava tunnels, or hiking nearby. Access to the highway is quick and easy, so daytrips are easy to take.

Highly recommended. Comfortable, lovely, and well located!

Easy to find. Everything worked. Clean. Cute. Close to downtown and grocery stores. Perfect for relaxing and watching movies after a day out hiking or on the water. Patio areas with BBQ. Nice neighborhood for strolling. There is also a studio that can be rented. I would stay again and would recommend it to my friends and family.

Convenient stay in downtown

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean, quiet and conveniently located in downtown within walking distance to great restaurants and coffee shops. The price was the same as staying in a downtown hotel, but with more privacy and amenities.

My husband and I have stayed in Bend many times over the last 10 years and always return to this neighborhood as it offers the perfect location for business and play. After staying here we will now stay in the same house because not only is the location ideal the house is as well. Tidy, quaint, quiet ; if felt like a home away from home.
