'Thanks for the rental of the wonderful cottage! It fit our needs perfectly. Easy walking distance to downtown Bend, peaceful and quiet yet quick access to restaurants, groceries, all the great things Bend has to offer. - J.W'
There is a downstairs studio vrbo #590748 that can also be rented. We offer a discount if you wish to rent both units. Perfect for larger groups, families.
This a NO SMOKING property. No smoking inside the cottage. No smoking outdoors.
We've always had a passion for building and renovating homes, and gardening. We relocated from Corvallis to Bend in 1990, and have never looked back. We raised our daughter here, and consider Bend to be our home.
Linda Brundage purchased this bungalow in 2000
A realtor friend found this property for us. It was a diminutive 447 square feet with a sagging roof, windows askew, and no foundation! And so of course, we fell in love with it and had to have it. Of all the building/remodeling projects we've ever taken on, this is the one we knew was special. After much research, planning, and conversations with the local Historic Society, we embarked on the adventure of restoring (and adding to...) the property. This home is a true gem. We are proud to offer it as a vacation rental; your temporary home away from home.
My family and I stayed here recently and had such a lovely time. The home was incredibly clean, and fully stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. It was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. It was also very close to downtown Bend and we walked to breakfast and dinner every day during our stay. We will definitely book this home again next summer for our yearly trip to Bend.
Outstanding! The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Lots of options for entertainment. If you are looking to explore the city of Bend, the walkability factor is off the charts! Just a few blocks from great shopping, restaurants, tons of breweries. The gorgeous riverfront park is a few minutes' walk away as well!
There are tons of fun activities in and around Bend, whether floating down the Deschutes, checking out the lava tunnels, or hiking nearby. Access to the highway is quick and easy, so daytrips are easy to take.
Highly recommended. Comfortable, lovely, and well located!
The little house was in a great location close to everything. It was perfect for my little family.
Easy to find. Everything worked. Clean. Cute. Close to downtown and grocery stores. Perfect for relaxing and watching movies after a day out hiking or on the water. Patio areas with BBQ. Nice neighborhood for strolling. There is also a studio that can be rented. I would stay again and would recommend it to my friends and family.
The property was clean, quiet and conveniently located in downtown within walking distance to great restaurants and coffee shops. The price was the same as staying in a downtown hotel, but with more privacy and amenities.
My husband and I have stayed in Bend many times over the last 10 years and always return to this neighborhood as it offers the perfect location for business and play. After staying here we will now stay in the same house because not only is the location ideal the house is as well. Tidy, quaint, quiet ; if felt like a home away from home.
Bring good shoes and enjoy being able to walk EVERYWHERE! This beautiful two bedroom worked perfectly for my wife and I. We have always wanted to check out Bend and this is about as central of a location as you can get. In four days I think we used our car twice. Once to go on a hike and another time to hit dinner for a place outside the main drag. The accommodations are clean, well decorated, and comfortable. There are two nice patios outside that we enjoyed and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. The area is very quiet and tranquil and has some beautiful homes in the area when you stroll around. The kitchen is very functional and we usually offset some vacation cost by cooking breakfast at home. We walked to Crux, Deschutes, Boneyard, and even Goodlife. They are all great walks and we were never bored (or fully sober :) In the mornings you are greeted with a woodpecker that has found some metal/tin vent to peck on that made me laugh and smile every time. Birds are flying about and the house has plenty of windows to let in the nice cool air. TVs were a little small but we didn't even try to turn them on except one late night movie when our feet were getting tired.
Great communication from rental mgmt team, great price, no monkey business with deposit refund, and we really enjoyed our vacation. I guess the only downside I can offer if that if you are planning a romantic weekend with the wife you need to keep in mind there is a studio under the house. We did not know this until half way through our vacation when on the patio and saw another couple come out of the basement area. I'll let you fill in the blanks....but we were pretty embarrassed.
I wouldn't even search for another spot when coming back. As we walked by the various hotels in the area we could only laugh about how much better we had it. Thanks Linda for the great place and wonderful vacation. We had a blast!
