The Pelican is perfectly located on a small, private cul-de-sac with friendly neighbors and really nice homes.
Just up the street is a beautiful private, white sand beach with cute cabanas, outdoor grills and bathroom facilities. As our guest, you will receive a free pass to utilize the beach during your entire stay with us.
The home has been completely remodeled and is second to none in decor. It is so comfortable and there's so much to look at and appreciate.
The canal is beautiful. And the dock is great for sunning and fishing (we provide the rods - you catch the fish). Dolphin, cranes, egrets, ibis, and herons are frequent visitors in our back yard.
The Pelican is an open concept home with a fitted chef's kitchen. Range/oven with built-in microwave, dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker/purified water, and includes everything we could think of to include - coffee maker, four-slice toaster, griddle, blender, slow cooker, baking dishes, mixing bowls, cookie sheet, pie plate, pots, pans, upscale silverware, knife set, and gadgets and stuff and stuff. The dishes are all hand-blown glass. The kitchen also features beautiful granite counters and a breakfast bar with 4 bar chairs.
The entire home is equipped with a reverse osmosis water system so you will actually enjoy the water, for consumption as well as for bathing.
The master suite features a huge king size bed with brand new mattress and box springs, Egyptian cotton sheets and beautiful light weight bedding. The room is beautifully furnished with a sitting/reading nook, as well.
The second bedroom features a queen bed, also with brand new mattress/box springs and beautiful bedding. There is ample closet space in both bedrooms and they are appointed with original artwork and accent pieces, just like home.
There are two full baths, one with a deep tub and shower combination. The 2nd bath has a huge shower, vanity and toilet. They both feature designer tiled vanities. The larger bath also has a piggyback washer/dryer unit which is more than ample capacity for your laundry needs. We provide bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and beach towels for your convenience.
The living room is furnished in Coral Bay furnishings - beautiful butter-colored sofa, two overstuffed chairs and a comfy recliner. The media center accommodates a 40 inch Toshiba television and a DVD player.
We offer our guests free Wireless Wifi. There is a land line phone in the home (with no voice mail feature) and we encourage our guests to make free long distance phone calls to anywhere in the US and Canada. We also offer a movie package that should satisfy various tastes in television viewing.
The dining area seats 6 comfortably. We hope you love our solid maple 1940's dining table, chairs and hutch as much as we do. It was a surprise find at Lions Head Antique Store in Port Richey.
The Florida Room is completely finished, secure and charming. This bonus room is such an important addition to the entire scheme of the home. The day bed with trundle offers additional sleeping for two. We offer our guests a good book selection from our small library of books there. There is also additional seating for 4 in the Florida Room at a dining/game table. We have a number of games for children and adults on top of the game table as well as inside the dining room hutch.
The best part of the house is being able to stand in the kitchen, dining room and Florida room and see the beautiful canal out back. What a way to start a day and end a day. The western sky turns pink at day’s end. The view is so lovely.
The property, for the most part, is xeri-scaped. We have some beautiful palms in the front of the home and some small ones on the canal side. Blooming Salvia and some bushes that we have yet to identify, are nice to look at and provide some sweet nectar for birds and other little flower-loving critters.
Our paver-paved circular driveway will accommodate four cars and our garage will accommodate one small car.
The property has been completely remodeled from stem to stern and we take so much pleasure in being able to offer it to visiting guests to enjoy it as much as we do.

My husband and I live in Ohio. As you may know, it was a brutal winter up north this winter. We were home bound for nearly 5 months. We live in the country surrounded by acres upon acres of woods. We spent most of our winter days taking photos of the deer, our resident fox, bunnies, wild turkey and other critters who find a safe sanctuary on our property up north. When my son announced that he and his family would not be making it up north for their summer vacation, we decided to come south, to be closer to them and to stay warm through some of the winter months. Hence, our purchase of this beautiful canal home in New Port Richey. We travel with our dog, 'HeyBoy' and know how difficult it is to find 'nice' accommodations whist traveling, so we decided it would be only fitting to become a 'pet friendly' property. So, we welcome your well-behaved pet.

Years ago my husband and I lived in Wimberley, Texas. We would often take our little getaway trips to the Gulf Coast of Texas and so enjoyed our time there. We often wondered if we would ever return to the Gulf Coast. We received our answer when we started talking about being nearer to our grandchildren who live in Gainesville, Florida. Once we arrived in New Port we knew it was a fit for us. The people are just so darn friendly here, we felt as though we were already home. Even if you enter a grocery store for the first time, everyone treats you as if you are already part of their New Port Richey family. And we've already made some good friends here, which we're really wowed about. We hope you get to experience this too. You will love it.
When I made the trip south to Florida to look at homes with my buyer agent, Wendy Dong, we were a little ragged at day's end having looked at 8 or so properties in one day. This home was the last home we viewed. It was cute from the outside, but what we found when we entered absolutely WOWED us. When we walked in, our eyes just bulged out of their sockets. I said, 'Wendy, this is IT! This is IT!' Wendy said, 'What about your husband?' 'He will love it,' I said, and we wrote up a contract. You know, when something hits you right, you just have to go with it.
The Pelican house is a lovely home to spend your Florida vacation in if you are able to stay for the required 30 days. We are snowbirds, and it is so nice to have a quiet, clean house to spend the winter months in. Kim, our landlady, has been in the hospitality business for many years, and she understands what travellers need when they are away from home. If you need anything, all you have to do is call her, and she is very accommodating. She has a maintenance man available if needed as well as a cleaning lady if you don't want to do your own cleaning. The stores are only a couple of minutes away, as well as a convenience store/gas station. The best thing is that you are able to use the Gulf Harbors private beach nearby when you just want to spend a relaxing afternoon.
This house was everything it promised. We had a very peaceful vacation. We enjoyed taking our dog on walks. The beach was great quiet, not a lot of people, clean. Would go back again.
Generally very good, lovely interior, nice area the private beach club is a bonus , two small complaints , 1) the gas bbq really needs replacing it is falling to bits 2) the next door neighbours allow their dogs to foul the lawn area ( there is no dividing fence on one side)

Love the place. Nicest home ever. The reason I didn't recommend it for families with small children is because of the deep water dock. Without your own wheels it is a little difficult to get anywhere. Other than that, it is well furnished, well decorated and I would recommend it to anyone.
Our stay was simpily outstanding! The home was beautifully decorated with relaxation built into the theme and perfect for my family of 3, thought the home could sleep 6. From the marble countertops, top end appliances and furniture, just add food & wine and let the relaxation begin! Everything you need is here, just bring your-selves and food, there was nothing missed. My family and I felt as if we were home, almost too comfortable LOL. My personal favorite spot was the enclosed florida room, since our stay was in July, I was able to setup my office in this room, open a blind to watch the canal, which had my boat at the floating doc with fishing rods set. Fishing is perfect 25 steps from your door, there are plenty of Red Fish/Drum and Sheep's and lunch was always fresh! Another bonus is the house faces west, you get a great sunset every evening from the florida room, outside padio or the dock, its your pick! The neighbors/community are very friendly and the area is well kept. If you like to soak in the sun, hit the private white sandy beaches, grills, facilities, just bring a snorkel and check out the sea life. The location is perfect as within 15 minutes south, your in Tarpon Springs speaking Greek and buying sponges and eating a Gyro or 2! If you into adventure, go north to Homosass FL and take a day tubing adventure, swim with manatee's or take a air boat ride through the northern everglades. Go a bit further to the north and hit Cedar Key and get those clams and enjoy what this small town has to offer. End result is here "IM COMING BACK"!!!!!!
Our family of 4 plus 1 stayed in this home in May. We must have the best luck in the world. This vacation home was so much more than we expected. It is really nice and we even got to bring our dog. We couldn’t believe how nice the furnishings were. My little girl (age 11) loves to paint and she especially liked all the artwork.
We have already made a reservation for a little earlier next spring. The owners are installing a swimming pool and spa in the fall and the kids will LOVE the swimming pool. My wife and I will spend every spare moment in the spa. We can hardly wait. We highly recommend this vacation home. I think it’s the nicest vacation home we’ve ever rented.
We slept so good in the king size bed. I don’t know what type of mattress was on the bed, but it was the best sleep my wife and I have had in a long, long time. Our kids slept in the Florida room with our dog. They loved it. We especially liked waking in the morning to the view of the canal in the backyard. You can see the canal for almost every room in the house. The owners also have fishing rods, so we all got to do a little fishing, too. They also have games, too, that we all enjoyed.
My wife loved the kitchen - she wants one just like it at home. She loved the granite countertops. There was everything in the kitchen she wanted and then some. We really appreciated the big pancake griddle because we love to make pancakes on the weekends at home. But we had pancakes almost every day.
We took the kids to the private beach up the street one day just to check it out, early on in our stay. We couldn’t believe how clean and well-maintained it was. It was one of the nicest beaches we’ve ever been to. We planned on just checking it out, but the kids wouldn’t leave, so we stayed the entire day. We got the cutest photos of our daughter burying our son in the sand. But that wasn’t all the fun we had. There had to have been 4 or 5 pods of Dolphin swimming only about 30 feet beyond where the kids were swimming. That was a thrill for the entire family. It is a beautiful beach and it wasn’t crowded at all. We returned several times and cooked out there, too. That beach really made our stay special. And it’s free. The owners have a pass they give you for using the beach.

Quiet Gulf Harbor Cul-de-Sac with canal front and dock. Watch the Dolphins and fish from our floating dock. Or feed the sea gulls. It's a hoot. The Gulf Harbor Beach, only .5 miles up our street, is second to none. Pristine quarter mile white sand beach with cabanas, grills and great swimming. Clean bathrooms and shower facilities, too. Tampa International AP is only 34 miles southeast. Tarpon Springs, sponge capitol and home to authentic Greek food is only 8 miles south & a real attraction featuring Dolphin tours, shops galore, restaurants, & the Tarpon Springs aquarium. Dunedin is only 18 miles south of New Port Richey and offers something for everyone. A quaint and active downtown, beautiful parks, recreational activities for all ages, history, culture, educational opportunities, and much more. It's not only historic, but has a rich and varied artist community. The Cotee River is just up the road and has wonderful riverfront areas for picnicking and walking your dog. South of the bridge on Hwy 19 N is the Sunset Landing Marina and the beautiful Pithlachacotee River. The Market-off-Main is nearby for lunch, dessert and good company. They also have a small produce market and it's adorable.

CANCELLATIONS - A written one hundred twenty (120) day notice is required for cancellations or changes in the reservation. Written cancellations that are made more than one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made less than 120 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance reservation deposit payment and any additional payments made beyond the initial advance deposit payment will not be refunded. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.
We strongly suggest obtaining trip insurance through a third-party insurance provider that will cover trip cancellation.
MONTHLY RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS – Monthly renters (renters who are staying more than one month) must cancel one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in. Monthly renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in.
