2 Bedroom Bungalow Close To The Beach

About Matt & Michelle Paganucci
Hello! We are the Paganuccis. It’s been our dream to come back to the beach, where we frequented prior to moving to our current landlocked town. Growing up in in the area, we loved going to the beach just about every weekend. When we moved outside the area, we hoped to return to the coast and were fortunate to purchase this little gem and escape the stifling heat of the Sacramento Valley summers. After spending a good amount of time remodeling the interior and furnishing the home, it is now our turn to share it with you! There is nothing better than spending time together as a family or having a lovely getaway weekend at the coast.
Matt & Michelle Paganucci purchased this Bungalow in 2011
Why Matt & Michelle Paganucci chose Aptos
We chose this Aptos bungalow because we absolutely loved the charm and the location. The community of Aptos is incredibly friendly, our girls have made friends with the neighbors and love the small town feel. We are literally 3 small blocks to Seacliff Beach and central to so many local beaches and attractions which our family loves. We truly love spending our day at the beach, whether it’s super active and body surfing, boogie boarding, playing smash ball, stand up paddle boarding, surfing … or relaxing on the sand, watching the dolphins, seals and diving sea birds. Aptos is home to the lush, tranquil Forest of Nisene Marks state park (5 minute drive), so you can change up your activities. We recently spent a day shopping the many antique shops on Soquel Avenue and of course made many trips to the local attractions, including the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Monterey Bay Aquarium. And we love to take strolls around the neighborhood, to the local cafes/restaurants. And, a new Marianne’s ice cream just opened down the street!
What makes this Bungalow unique
For starters, it’s a classic 1960s beach bungalow – so cozy yet fresh with high ceilings and bright interior. As mentioned above, we are very close to the beach, so should you decide not to drive to many of the other local beaches, take a short stroll down Beachgate Drive and down the stairs. We’ve stocked our home with small comforts, from boogie boards, beach chairs and sand toys, to board games, cards and books (book lovers: there is a kiosk down the street with free books to borrow as well). Plus, we purchased a new queen bed for the master, and also have a queen bed in the 2nd bedroom. The living room sofa bed is also a queen, so our home indeed does comfortably sleep six. The fireplace has seating, and gives off a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. For those of you that like warm bathrooms, a heat fan is installed. And to enjoy the sunshine in the backyard, we had a redwood deck constructed in 2015 and have a patio set. Please note that to help keep our home clean and comfortable for all, we require that you please remove your shoes while inside the house. We hope you enjoy your stay!

We had a wonderful stay with our 2 young daughters! Cozy home with plenty of room and amenities. Walking distance to town and the beach!
Hope to stay again!
Traveling with husband and two 15 year old boys with main interest in going to the boardwalk in Santa Cruz. I am very grateful we were able to stay at this property! Quiet neighborhood is exactly what we needed after the busy boardwalk. Slept with windows open and was not awakened to any noise. The beach is a very short walk from the home and was clean, beautiful and not crowded. Public restrooms at the beach were clean and easily accessed. My husband and I enjoyed walking/jogging to the peer and the kids enjoyed playing in the water. The outdoor shower was perfect after the trip to the beach. The inside was clean and beds very comfortable. The backyard is larger than pictured and was perfect for BBQing and eating. Having a washer and dryer is a must! Grateful for the kitchen. The pictures do not do the property justice. Would have stayed longer if we had the time. Great family memories!
Cute house within walking distance to the beach.
The house was perfect for our small group. We were walking distance from the beach and Marianne’s ice cream shop. There were also some restaurants close by. We really enjoyed our stay.
Loved the location and exploring the area. Beautiful part of the country and was very happy with the convenience of the property to the highway. Owners were always responsive and provided suggestions and such! Would absolutely reach out to them again if we vacation in the area in the future. Great part of the country to just enjoy your sourroundings.
Aptos is centrally located to many world class beaches and attractions, from Santa Cruz, the surf capital of Northern California and home of the world famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the colorful village of Capitola, antique shopping in Soquel, hiking in Forest of Nisene Marks to Monterey/Carmel area to the south ... home of the wondrous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 17-mile Drive and world-class Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay golf courses.
The Central Coast is home to numerous state parks and local beaches, our favorite being Manresa State Beach - great sandy bottom for swimming, surfing, boogie boarding. A little less crowded than some of the other beaches. At the end of West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, you will find Natural Bridges State Park, terrific for viewing tide pools. Walk or bike along West Cliff and take in the stunning views. Be sure to eat and buy local - we absolutely love the delicious brews at Verve Coffee, tasting new flavors at the Penny Ice Creamery and shopping in downtown Santa Cruz. The best independent bookstore around - Bookshop Santa Cruz - is a must-see for book lovers. Great selection and cozy reading area for kids.
