The Jesse Cooper cottage sits just behind the Historical Jesse Cooper House built in 1911. We are 2 1/2 miles from Georgetown sitting atop the hill on Wilbarger Point. The address of the cottage is 255 Wilbarger Point. You can see Georgetown, as well as Southwestern University from our hilltop. The cottage has one bedroom and one bath. It is furnished and decorated to make you feel at home and to give you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the view. The kitchen is fully equipped with all needed appliances. The cottage has a full size washer and dryer, direct tv, flat screen tv, dvd blue ray player and is centrally heated and air conditioned. We are a pet friendly property. We have pets and are glad to allow you to bring your pet, with a special agreement with us. We love to garden, so you will be able to experience gardening (and possibly some fresh veggies), while you are here. We are 1/2 mile west of I-30 and 3 miles east of I-35. You have easy access to Georgetown, Austin, Round Rock, and the Hill Country. We are willing to have a special dessert waiting for you in the cottage upon your arrival by special request. We live on-site, so are always happy to help with locations of places you would like to visit. We have tried to make the cottage a place that we would enjoy staying in.
Jimmy and I moved to Wilbarger Point, after searching for the perfect 'old house'. We have spent hours and hours giving the property the tender loving care it needed to bring it back to life. Susan is a retired elementary school teacher and Jimmy recently retired, after 41 years with the electric company. Our priorities are Faith, Family, and Friends. We love spending time with our family/ grand-kids, gardening, hunting, fishing, sewing, quilting, smocking, cooking, and canning. Our two children, Corrie and Josh, both graduated from Texas A & M. Their spouses also graduated from Texas A & M. We love living in Georgetown and are thrilled with the opportunity to share our place with others.
Susan or Jimmy Snow purchased this chateau / country house in 1995
We both have always loved old houses and old things. When we moved to Georgetown, the historical properties always charmed us. We fell in love with San Gabriel park and spent many hours there when our kids were younger. When we learned of the Jesse Cooper House, we spent several years trying to make it ours. When the timing was right, it happened and we have been blessed to live here.
From the hill, we have a wonderful view of the sunsets and sunrises. There is always a breeze. You get the feel of being out in the country, but also the luxury of being close to town.
This was our second stay at the Jesse Cooper Cottage. We enjoyed our stay again at Jimmy and Susan's cottage. We didn't have any issues. The cottage is just the right size for our stay - cozy, quiet, well maintained, nice view of Georgetown, and wonderful host. Had everything we needed. Have already booked again for next year.
We stayed at Cooper Cottage for 11 weeks. The cottage is very clean and well organized. The furniture and bed are comfortable and met our needs in every way. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. Susan and Jimmy Snow are wonderful, helpful hosts, and we hope to return in the future.
We travel with our dog and there is a fenced yard with a doggie door and plenty of area to walk the dog as well. We also enjoyed the Bark Park in Georgetown which had both a small and a large dog area.
The cottage is located on the Eastern edge of Georgetown with very easy access to the Inner Loop and I-130. This allowed quick access to almost everything.
The owners were very gracious and available. The property is a great location to downtown Georgetown. It was the the perfect place for us and our weekend away.
My husband and I traveled to Georgetown to visit some friends and were looking for a place with privacy and comfort. We stayed for 4 nights. This cottage was exactly what we needed. I was so grateful for the convenience, privacy and comfort. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a great place to stay. A quick comment/caution: The road to turn onto to get to the property is a little hard to find in the dark.
My husband and I needed to stay in Georgetown for the weekend. We found this gem and so glad we did. Perfect location for us. One of the cleanest VRBO properties we have ever stayed in. The owners are very nice and the house had everything we needed. Great for a couple. If you need to stay in Georgetown I highly recommend this property.
What a wonderful, clean, quiet, delightful cottage. We had to move during a complete repainting of our house and found this cottage in our hometown of Georgetown. It was best we left because of the paint fumes and at least a dozen painters going throughout our house.
After the first trip to bring items we'll need while living in the cottage, my husband came back and said, "I did good!" I did when choosing this little cottage. It had everything that was needed to live there without having to bring almost anything (personal items of course). The first night and in fact within a few hours our car had a major tire blow-out. We had no tools at the cottage to fix it. I called Susan (the owner), and she get Jimmy (husband), to come and take charge and fix the tire (taking off the ruined tire and putting on the spare), so we could drive it to the dealership the next day and have a new tire put on.
Susan & Jimmy, are wonderful, caring and very helpful owners. She dropped off on the front porch-yes, a cute little porch to enjoy the weather, fresh tomatoes and squash.
I would highly recommend this cottage for an overnighter-just to get away from it all-or over a month (we stayed 36 nights), or much more.
God bless Susan and Jimmy and Jesse Cooper-founder of the Williamson Sun (Georgetown's home town paper), for having this cottage built on his property. I forgot to mention how quiet it is at the cottage. Had some nice views of Southwestern Football games and open spaces.

The city of Georgetown has much to offer. The square has live entertainment, restaurants, shopping, and wineries. The San Gabriel Park is amazing. We think that Georgetown has the best Mexican food in the area, and that is at Dos Salsa (you will probably see us there.) We are close to great shopping at the outlet mall in Round rock. The hill country isn't far, and, of course, Austin is full of things to do.
