We are 2 1/2 miles from Georgetown sitting atop the hill on Wilbarger Point. The address of the cottage is 259 Wilbarger Point. You can see Georgetown, as well as Southwestern University from our hilltop. The cottage has one bedroom and one bath. It is furnished and decorated to make you feel at home and to give you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the view. The kitchen is fully equipped with all needed appliances. The cottage has a full size washer and dryer, direct tv, flat screen tv, dvd blue ray player and is centrally heated and air conditioned. We are a pet friendly property. We have pets and are glad to allow you to bring your pet, with a special agreement with us. We love to garden, so you will be able to experience gardening (and possibly some fresh veggies), while you are here. We are 1/2 mile west of I-30 and 3 miles east of I-35. You have easy access to Georgetown, Austin, Round Rock, and the Hill Country. We are willing to have a special dessert waiting for you in the cottage upon your arrival by special request. We live on-site, so are always happy to help with locations of places you would like to visit. We have tried to make the cottage a place that we would enjoy staying in.
Jimmy and I moved to Wilbarger Point, after searching for the perfect 'old house'. We have spent hours and hours giving the property the tender loving care it needed to bring it back to life. Susan is a retired elementary school teacher and Jimmy recently retired, after 41 years with the electric company. Our priorities are Faith, Family, and Friends. We love spending time with our family/ grand-kids, gardening, hunting, fishing, sewing, quilting, smocking, cooking, and canning. Our two children, Corrie and Josh, both graduated from Texas A & M. Their spouses also graduated from Texas A & M. We love living in Georgetown and are thrilled with the opportunity to share our place with others.
Susan or Jimmy Snow purchased this chateau / country house in 1995
We both have always loved old houses and old things. When we moved to Georgetown, the historical properties always charmed us. We fell in love with San Gabriel park and spent many hours there when our kids were younger. When we learned of the Jesse Cooper House, we spent several years trying to make it ours. When the timing was right, it happened and we have been blessed to live here.
From the hill, we have a wonderful view of the sunsets and sunrises. There is always a breeze. You get the feel of being out in the country, but also the luxury of being close to town.
We stayed at the cottage for 2 nights and found it to be very welcoming. It has everything needed for a great stay. It is well kept and very clean, the cleanest VRBO that we have ever rented. The bathroom had more than enough towels, there are extra blankets and quilts to stay comfortable as well as a fully stocked kitchen for any cooking. We slept very well on the queen sized bed. The cottage is located close to downtown and everything you might need. We would definitely stay at the cottage again if we venture through Georgetown in the future. Although we didn't get a chance to meet the owners, they left us a delicious snack of caramel pecan popcorn to enjoy..and we did. Don't hesitate to rent this cottage, you won't be disappointed.
As I told Susan and Jimmy this is a little slice of heaven in Georgetown.
We needed a place to stay for a month while we closed on our house in Georgetown and I am so thankful we found the cottage and met Susan and Jimmy! The cottage was just as described. Clean, spacious, cozy and private. They have really thought of everything you will need for your stay. From the little kitchen fully equipped to make meals, the tv, internet and to the laundry room needed to wash clothes. We felt so comfortable and at home there. We also had our 9 month old goldendoodle with us and the accommodations for her were just as great! She had a nice little fenced in yard to run around and enjoy. The property sits on a bluff and you can see all of Georgetown. It is peaceful and has such a great view of Georgetown. In addition, Susan brought me fresh veggies from her garden and invited us to spend 4th of July with them watching the fireworks. Jimmy took our two boys for a ride on his 4 wheeler and they had such a great time. Susan and Jimmy are so thoughtful and friendly. They went above and beyond for our family and I feel blessed we crossed paths with them. They are truly wonderful people! I would recommend anyone to stay here. It will not disappoint.
We rented Jesse Cooper Cottage for 2 months. We needed a "home away from home" while in town to help care for our new grand daughter. The cottage was comfortable, clean and cozy. Jimmy and Susan were gracious hosts and we would not hesitate to stay here again!! We will be back!!
This was our second stay at the Jesse Cooper Cottage. We enjoyed our stay again at Jimmy and Susan's cottage. We didn't have any issues. The cottage is just the right size for our stay - cozy, quiet, well maintained, nice view of Georgetown, and wonderful host. Had everything we needed. Have already booked again for next year.
We stayed at Cooper Cottage for 11 weeks. The cottage is very clean and well organized. The furniture and bed are comfortable and met our needs in every way. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. Susan and Jimmy Snow are wonderful, helpful hosts, and we hope to return in the future.
We travel with our dog and there is a fenced yard with a doggie door and plenty of area to walk the dog as well. We also enjoyed the Bark Park in Georgetown which had both a small and a large dog area.
The cottage is located on the Eastern edge of Georgetown with very easy access to the Inner Loop and I-130. This allowed quick access to almost everything.
The owners were very gracious and available. The property is a great location to downtown Georgetown. It was the the perfect place for us and our weekend away.
The city of Georgetown has much to offer. The square has live entertainment, restaurants, shopping, and wineries. The San Gabriel Park is amazing. We think that Georgetown has the best Mexican food in the area, and that is at Dos Salsa (you will probably see us there.) We are close to great shopping at the outlet mall in Round rock. The hill country isn't far, and, of course, Austin is full of things to do.
