About the property

Our name means serenity in Hawaiian. Our ohana is a place of quiet beauty.

Come relax at the beautiful ocean front property

Experience true Aloha in this charming 4 bedroom, two bathroom ohana located oceanfront in Makaha with extraordinary views of Waianai mountain range and pacific ocean. Snorkeling is available at a variety of beaches and reefs, or simply cross the street to take advantage of everything makaha beach park has to offer. Chances are, you can watch the native Hawaiian spinner dolphins right from your lanai through out the year. And you can watch a whale perform an acrobatic leap while in season. Located just an hour from Honolulu Airport, the Laulea Manor's beauty, easy access and quiet seclusion, make it a preferred home base for families interested in the true Hawaiian experience. The Master bedroom suite offers sweeping ocean views, a private door to the lanai. Our gourmet kitchen is chef approved. We offer cable tv that can connect you to your hula account with the hi speed internet we provide. Each bedroom offers a unique view of our little piece of paradise. The morning sunrise shines through the stained glass front door with rainbows to start your day.

Ask us about Tess' Hide Away. This ohana adds space for up to 12 people. Or if you need less room or have a smaller budget we can offer a 2 bedroom unit downstairs for $150 a night. Please check out the smaller unit at vrbo #608522.

The home itself is comfortable, well stocked and private. Relax on the shaded lanai and begin every day watching the sun rise over Waianae mountain range while balmy trade winds breeze by; relax in the evening as the sun sets majestically over the stunning pacific ocean. The property is located about and hour and half away from the airport depending on the traffic.

We are so happy to be able to share this beautiful and picturesque home with your family and friends. We have all the amenities a typical home would provide like cable, internet, kitchenware, toiletries, towels, coffee maker, iron board, washer, dryer and so on. If there is any specific item that is not mentioned here, please feel free to ask for it. Chances are, we have it stocked but couldn't mention it because the list would be so huge. :). Oh one last thing about the amenities. We also have a barbeque in the backyard for our guests to use. You can enjoy the trade winds, the beautiful scenery and the occasional breach by a whale or dolphin while sinking you teeth into homemade bbq food. Now that's a true Hawaiian vacation at its best. Wouldn't you agree?? :)

Vacationing with Kids and Grandparent (3 Adults, 2 Kids)

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week in Oahu and stayed at this lovely property. The house was AMAZING! And the back side view was AMAZING! Even prettier than the pictures on VRBO. It backed up to a rocky coastline on the West Shore. It was fun to walk out on the rocks with my kids, but they are jagged so we needed a bit of caution to not slip and cut ourselves. The waves had cut small pools of water into the rocks where little fish and hermit crabs would collect. We also enjoyed standing close to the edge of the rocks and watching the waves crash against them. Those crashing waves were also soothing to listen to at night - we always left our windows open and fell asleep listening to the ocean waves. The house has central A/C but we only used it one night while we were there. We also loved the hot tub on the lanai where we could relax and enjoy the wonderful view of the West Shore. The house included all the amenities you need, including beach towels, hair dryers, kitchen ware, washer/dryer, TVs, etc. The kitchen has granite counters and new appliances. There's even some things to take to the beach, like chairs, mats, boogey boards and a large umbrella.

Makaha Beach is within walking distance of the house and it's very clean and lively with others visiting the beach. Part of the beach is nice for surfing though we sat further down the shore where the waves were calmer - and our 5YO could play in the sand and shore. The only downside to this property is that it is an hour drive to Waikiki (South Shore) and about 1.25 hours to the North Shore. It took us almost 2 hours to get to the Polynesian Cultural Center on the East Shore. The public bus transportation stops just down the street from the house, but I would recommend having a rental car for traveling around the island from this house.

The property manager, Tess, stays in the lower level of the property and is so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at this house. Just keep in mind the travel times to tourist attractions especially around rush hour times.

I love love love this house so much I'm returning in March! I could not have asked for a better vacation house listening to the waves from the master bedroom was soooo relaxing. If you love to cook like I do just go to the grocery store up the way and enjoy the chefs kitchen..

My husband could not get enough of fishing in the backyard and the hot tub on the lanai was to die for at the end of a long day.

All in all this was a wonderful vacation house!

Lovely house with an amazing view of the ocean

  • 5 of 5

House. The house is located on the west side of the island and near a beautiful local beach. As you walk upstairs to the property and enter the front lania you will noticed the amazing view of the ocean. You can even hear the waves break. The house is beautiful with 4 bedrooms (mother-in-law plan), the kitchen island and the back lania was our hangout space. As you sit on the lania and enjoy the ocean view you can see the whales once in awhile pop-up. We were able to use the hot tub which added to relaxing after a day of sight seeing. Tess was great who provided us options to grab food in the neighborhood. Tess also provided an air mattress that was set up in the master bedroom (there was a lot of space even with a king size bed in the room). One of the recommendation from Tess was eating at the Chinese place, 1st Chinese. The restaurant provided a lot of food but was a little bit chaotic when it came to ordering but then again we did not know the process like the locals did. The local grocery store closes at 8 PM and the people there are friendly. The food and the people at Aloha Poke both were great. The lady helped us select local food options and even gave us samples of the "potato-mac" and the "Ahi Poke." Location. As mentioned earlier the house is located on the west side of the island. Here you will see a lot of the locals and less tourist. The traffic to and from the house takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours (peak time is 3 PM to 7 PM) but once you arrive at the house again the views are just amazing. I would recommend this property to friends and family but advice them of the traffic to and from.

A great place for ocean and nature lovers

  • 4 of 5

We really liked the place for its location, magnificent view of ocean and nature, and spaciousness of the house(a large kitchen, dining, living quarter and 4 bedrooms). We were especially impressed with the sunset view from the lanai which was nothing but breathtaking.

The other side of the ocean is a mountain that is also very beautiful and awe-inspiring, something of a kind I've never seen in my life before...

The house is located only few minutes away(by car) from the beautiful Makaha beach and other pristine beaches are only few miles drive more to the north and south.

It has an easy access to a town where you can get all the necessities during the stay.

The laundry room inside the house was very convenient and a big plus for a comfortable stay.

Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc ?

Was the property clean and well-maintained ?

Not quite

Did the owner provide good customer service ?

I'm not sure.

Would you recommend this property to your friends or relatives ?

What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike near by ?

Dolphin watching was quite an experience.

[Room for Improvement]

When we got there at 4pm of the check-in day, the house wasn't ready(floor uncleaned, TV unconnected, and bed linens unchanged).

As we were so tired and wanted to rest in the house, we had to ask the cleaning lady to leave and ended up doing all those by ourselves the next morning and that was a kind of hassle.

Perfect place for family vacation

  • 4 of 5

I want to send a personal thank you to Satish for his continued professionalism and help with everything that made the trip for myself and my family possible. He was very accommodating and Tess (the property mgr) was helpful any hour of the day. The house was great for a family of 6 to enjoy the beautiful island of Oahu. It has ocean view, plenty of space, beautiful kitchen & walking distance to Makaha beach. We would definitely rent again.

Beautiful, Amazing, breath taking views!!!! Must Rent

  • 5 of 5

When I first walked into the house I was lost of words!!! The house is perfect and the views of the beach is so breathtaking.... We had a party of 7 and it was just the most amazing vacation. Out of the 7 it was most of our first time out to Hawaii, we came down for our cousins wedding on the beautiful Lanikai Beach!!! We have already recommended this house to everyone. We had family that live in Hawaii and totally loved the house and the view!!! If we were to come back to Hawaii I would stay here again... The pictures of the house are eye catching so take my word and rent this out, I wish we could've had the whole house but you still have your own privacy. Our neighbors downstairs were pretty cool and Ms. Tess thank you again for preparing the house for us. Missing the sounds of the water from the master bedroom.. Make sure you plan your daily activities because traffic really sucks only because theres only one way into Makaha and one way out. Besides that its a perfect location away from the city!!!

We are just around the corner from the world famous Makaha surfing beach and for those people with Kieki (children) Pokai Bay is about 1 mile away. It is a calm white sand bay great for snorkeling or just floating away the day. There are local boat tours and folks who would love to teach you how to paddle board or surf. Our local Hawaiian food is easily available at most stores and restaurants. Kapolei is just 15 miles away and offers many fine dining restaurants, a movie complex, Costco, Walmart, and a water park. Don't want to drive to Waikiki? The local bus stops at our doorstep and will take you to the famous Alamoana Shopping center in Honolulu. The wikiwiki buses will take you to Hilo Hatties to find those island treasures to take home. We have many celebrations on our island and most weekends there is something special happening. The drive around the island will surprise you with the various landscapes, from rain forest to pineapple fields, high cloud haloed mountains to white sandy beaches. Every bend is a new surprise.
