About Sandy Dorris

Living in this area for years now has been such a wonderful experience for me. I am so happy to now have LOAFER'S GLORY to share with others so they too can enjoy stepping back in time in the quaint little Village of Leiper's Fork. Down home feel, live music in the village, quaint shops , art galleries, good eating, friendly people, close to downtown square of Franklin, peaceful and quiet times sitting on front porch sipping your morning coffee, or sight seeing to Natchez Trace, downtown Nashville....wineries close by.. trail riding, you name it.

I am looking forward to sharing my little piece of heaven with others so they too may experience what rural Leiper's Fork has to offer.

Being retired now gives me more opportunity to share my cottage and village with you....LOAFER'S GLORY is waiting to give you the royal pamper experience. I am all about sharing the "glory!"

Why Sandy Dorris chose Tennessee

This property has everything to offer you, my guests, the best of everything. It is located in the quaint little village of Leiper's Fork which is know "world wide" as the place to visit. People come here from far and near just to experience the down home feeling of staying in a rural town yet so close to so many things to do. Everyone who visits always tell me they wanted to stay longer, they want to come back for a return stay, and yes "they want to move here." It happens over and over and I do get many return guests. So my little stone cottage, LOAFER'S GLORY, lets me share everything about this area with all who choose to stay here. My cottage has been designed and appointed with YOU in mind. Great thought has gone in to making it warm, comfortable, and inviting. It sits nestled back on the property making it very quiet and peaceful, allows you to sit on front or side porch and no one sees you enjoying your relaxing time, and is 2 minitues from all that goes on in the village ie: live music, quaint shopping, a variety of places to eat, trails to ride or hike, wineries, art galleries, sightings of many famous artists who have chosen this community to live in just because they can appreciate it's beauty and the people here who allow them their personal privacy . LOAFER'S GLORY is situated right where it needs to be for the perfect get away for my current and future guests. Wanna drive to the square of downtown Nashville then you can be there in 8 minutes, wanna drive to downtown Nashville then you can be there in 25 minutes,,,,,but guarantee you will always want to return to Loafer's Glory Cottage to just chill and relax...until time to get up and go again or just sit a spell. i look forward to sharing my gem of a cottage with you soon.

What makes this house unique

Fantastic views, cool shade from the many trees, garage parking for guest cars. Private setting nestled back from the road. Close to all that goes on in the village of Leiper's Fork.

Totally renovated and updated with everything one could wish for in their VRBO get away. It was truly designed with my guests in mind.... Come and see for yourself and you will find it is exactly as you see in the pictures.

Awesome Anniversary

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our three-year wedding anniversary with a staycation at this wonderful little gem. Everything was neat, clean and well decorated. The relaxing atmosphere really helped up feel right at home. The bathroom is one of the highlights ... especially the shower; it felt like a spa retreat. The guy who cut the lawn was a bit unexpected during our stay, but we were leaving for a bit anyway. The quaint backyard with table and chairs and the gas grill were perfect - lots of privacy. The view from the front porch was rejuvenating while we watched cyclists pedal past us. We even spent some time on a blanket under a big shade tree in the front yard, enjoying the gentle breeze while the birds chirped nearby. The bed was very comfortable. Our bed at home is very comfortable and hard to beat, but we both slept well during our stay. We highly recommend this property and hope to make this a regular getaway.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your 5 star review. So happy that you all had a great time at my cottage. Anniversaries are very special occasions so hopefully you all will make the cottage your yearly anniversary get-away. Everything was chosen for the cottage with my guests in mind. The location is superb for relaxing, enjoying the Village of Leiper's Fork, downtown Franklin, and even not far from a drive to downtown Nashville if you so desire. I will be looking forward to having you as returning guests in the near future. Thanks again Sandy

Owner's Response: It was so nice meeting you and your friends. So happy you all enjoyed my cottage. I love to hear you all had a great time as that is what vacation get-away time is all about for my guests. Everything about the cottage was designed for the comfort, relaxation, and convenience for my guests. The Village of Leiper's Fork is right there for you to enjoy as well as the downtown square of Franklin. There is so much to do I find many of my guests wanting to come back so they can complete the things they did not have time to see. I thank you again for sharing your thoughts about my cottage for others to see. Many guests look at reviews before booking their stay an I would much rather then read comments from the guests who have experienced a stay at my cottage. Hurry back..... Sandy

Absolutely Amazing

  • 5 of 5

I hate to give this place a good review (for selfish reasons as I want it always to be available when I'm ready to go back).

It was probably the most relaxing vacation I've ever taken. Didn't turn the tv on one time.

The kitchen was amazing, the bathroom was jaw dropping.

The beds were comfortable and the internet was great.

The entire space had such amazing atmosphere that we were there from a Tuesday to a Friday and we left for maybe 6 hours tops the whole time, went hiking a few miles a way at the Garrison Creek Trail, went to breakfast each morning and out to dinner one time - otherwise we hung out at the cottage and read and relaxed. So...if you don't like nice relaxing, clean and gorgeous places - you may want to find another place to stay :) ....however, if you do - stay here!!!! Just don't let the cat out of the bag about how nice it is.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovingly renovated old stone cottage in a perfect location just down the road from the restaurants and shops of Leiper's Fork, with quick and easy access to Franklin and the Natchez Trace Parkway. Nashville is 30 minutes away. The decor is elegantly rustic with modern, updated, and well-stocked kitchen and bathroom. There is no tub, but the shower is large with a seating ledge and multiple shower heads with excellent water pressure. The view and light out the front window is so nice. We even got a rainbow just across the street one afternoon! Recommendations include immersing yourself in all the civil war history and home tours in the area. Load up on books at Parnassus and Landmark. See a show at Franklin Theatre and City Winery. Visit Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills. Eat at all the Puckett's, Country Boy, Merridee's, 55 South, Loveless, Hattie B's Hot Chicken, and Rotier's. Don't miss Nett's Country Store in Bethel or Breece's Cafe in Centerville. Save room for pie! Thanks again, Sandy, for a wonderful stay at such a reasonable price.

Owner's Response: Well, my goodness, you all covered some territory during your stay at my cottage. I thank you so much for the great review and letting my future guests hear all the neat places you visited during your stay. The cottage is located so close to many of the sights that people come to Franklin to see so glad you had time to work in so many fun things while enjoying your stay at Loafer's Glory Cottage. Please be sure to plan another visit real soon to Leiper's Fork an Loafer's Glory so you can enjoy some more pampering and great down home goodness from the folks in our quaint little village of Leiper's Fork. It's always so good to hear back from my guests that they enjoyed their stay. See you all again very soon. Sandy

What a beautiful cottage!!! We absolutely loved our stay and look forward to returning in the near future. It was picture perfect! Far enough from the city, yet close enough to everything.

Thank you, Sandy. It was just what we wanted!

Outstanding! My wife and I and our two girls immediately fell in love with the cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We had a relaxing three day stay at the cottage. It is quiet and cozy and an advantageous location. A minute from downtown Leiper's Fork made it easy to get to know the little village. Not far from downtown Franklin either. We are already excited to come back one day and stay again!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your 5 star review. I am so glad you enjoyed the quaint village of Leiper's Fork as well as the downtown area of Franklin. The area has so much to do that it is hard to see and do everything in just 3 days. Guess that means you will just have to come back for another stay at my cottage. You cannot beat the location as it is very convenient and not congested at all. A great place to escape and relax yet close to whatever it is you want to do. Hurry back....hope to hear back from you in the near future. Sandy

If you have a need for a personal drive to take you to downtown Nashville, Franklin, or to airport call James Moore. 615-479-2183 . You can discuss with him you needs and make reservations to use his service. They are not paid by the cottage. He charges by the hour with a 3 hour minimum....$50 per house + tip. Many of my guests use him as the DUI penalty is very strict and enforced in Tennessee.
