Bedrooms 5
Half Baths1
Space 150 m²
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

5 Bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, sleeps 10 plus access to another villa that sleeps 4

The first 4 star rated villa in the area , Villa Vista is a superb example of how to restore a magnificent 300-year-old stone house to its original grandeur with all mod cons. Villa Vista the perfect escape from the stresses of modern life. Sitting above the village of Viganj at the tip of the Peljesac Peninsular, the breathtaking views from the large terrace and large swimming pool take in the length of the island of Korcula and its vineyards, and the beauty of the Medieval Citadel of Korcula Town across the sparkling crystal clear waters of the Adriatic – and this with the sea just 400 meters from the terrace steps.

We also have access to a second villa that sleeps 4 with the possibility to sleep 6. This acts as an ideal overflow or for smaller groups not wanting the rent the larger villa. Please see

About Jane Grant

A New Zealander living in Woking in the UK for the past 25(!) years, living with my husband Craig, daughter Ella, dog Monty and our chickens..

We fell in love with Croatia on our first trip in 2003 which set us off hunting for our perfect holiday home. We found Villa Vista the next year and set about putting it back to its former self. By all accounts, including the locals, we did a pretty good job of it.

We knew there were a number of old stone houses in the area but bought and renovated this one because of history and commanding position.

We make an active contribution to village life and have made many goods friends in Viganj, our home away from home.

Jane Grant purchased this villa in 2004

Why Jane Grant chose Peljesac Peninsula

Villa Vista has the best of both worlds in Viganj.

It is a stones throw from the Village - it's shops, bars, restaurants, sea etc., and yet has the peace, calm and unbelievable views due to its enviable position just above the village.

It is tough to beat waking up and being able to see up to 10 Adriatic islands over you morning coffee or tea.

Largest private swimming pool in the area.

Private, secluded position.

Guestbook comments from the manager

'We have to been to Croatia once before and yet were still surpised by the beauty and diversity of the Peljesac area. This combined with the villa's perfect position and creature comforts made for an exceptional holiday'- The O'Driscolls, Fulham, London.

'The ideal mix of culture, watersports and great food and wine made our family holiday fun for all. Villa Vista is exceptional and we really felt spoilt' - Sam Tremayne and family, New Haw, Surrey.

Having been asked for a recommendation of somewhere to stay in Croatia, I realised that I had never written a review of our family get together at this beautiful property. We actually stayed there for two weeks in July 2015 (Calendar wouldn't go that far back). We were a party of 12 with ages ranging from three to 71 years. The house exceeded our expecations and we all still talk about the holiday. There was a bush fire that cut out the power for 24 hours but Jane and her family were near at hand with advice and emergency water and it didn't impact on our enjoyment one little bit. The whole ambience feels like a private resort and the area surrounding it was filled with day trips, wind-sailing and fabulous places to eat and have a sunset drink. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this review - I remember that fire very well indeed. As for many, I am so pleased your holiday a the Villa was so memorable for you all and that it worked so well for your group and its range of ages and interests. I was at the villa just last week for a mid to late September break and it was perfect out there. Please let me know if your friends decide to stay with us based on your recommendation and I will make sure there is some good wine waiting for them for when they arrive. Jane

We felt the magic

  • 5 of 5

It's difficult to describe just how wonderful our stay at Villa Vista was, from the unbelievably exquisite views, that changed by the hour, to the long, lazy hours spent in the hammock reading a book and drinking some of the peninsular's stunning wines, to swimming in the clear blue sea and sleeping in the comfortable beds.

There was enough space for us all to relax together, or be apart, the pool area was well maintained and it was a delight to see so many beautiful plants and trees growing in the garden. The owners care and attention to every detail was truly outstanding.

We'll be back, we felt the magic!

A group of 8 of us stayed at Villa Vista for a 10th University reunion. We chose this villa based on the earlier reviews on this site and we were not in anyway disappointed.

The Villa is exceptionally well equipped from truly comfortable beds, the kitchen through to the pool area and the views from both terraces are outstanding. There is a ton of space for everyone which meant we could hang out together or take time out from the group.

The village offered something for all of us - water sports, cute restaurants and bars and a good local shop. Nearby larger Orebic was great for larger shopping etc.

The Villa's position means you can take advantage of all on offer while being able escape the busy waterfront and relax over a glass of wine [ or two ] in our own space.

Cant rate this place highly enough and we will be back.

Owner's Response: Fantastic that your group had such a great week. We love that we can easily be in the village with all that happens and get away to our own slice of heaven too. I am off there on Tuesday for the better part of the week and can't wait for some late September sun. Hope to hear from you again soon. Jane

Stunning villa, stunning location...

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful villa, well equipped with all the amenities of your own home.

Bedrooms all air-conditioned, very welcome on hot steamy nights. Many villa's claim to sleep 10, only to find you have beds in weird places, this villa sleeps 10 in proper bedrooms with great bathrooms too. The location is fantastic not too overrun with tourists with lots to do. Like the marketing slogan says "Croatia - like the med used to be" a true statement. Can't wait to return to Villa Vista...

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write this review. I am delighted you had such a wonderful stay. Croatia is a wonderful place and Viganj a perfect place for a holiday that is as lazy or as active you want it to be. We are proud of our 10 years of owning Villa Vista and of our commitment to making sure it is 110% comfortable for 10 guests [ plus travel cot]. No bedrooms in weird places and no "stack and rack" approach to accommodation here!

The Jackpot

  • 5 of 5

We spent 18 months searching for the perfect villa in which to celebrate our golden wedding with our family. In selecting Villa Vista we hit the jackpot. The location is superb with magnificent views especially across the water to Korcula. We were 10 aged from 3 to 76 and there was plenty of room for all of us. We never felt on top of one another. The villa was clean, airy and comfortable and all our pre arrival requests had been met. The owner's representative came twice to ask whether all was well and to ensure that we had everything we needed. The house is very well appointed and equipped and there is a splendid swimming pool which was serviced daily. The 44 steps down to it from the terrace were well worth the effort as was the steep track down to the sea! There is a plethora of nearby restaurants catering for all tastes and pockets to choose from and whatever one's choice of watersport there is the opportunity to indulge in it almost on the doorstep.

Our week there was everything we hoped it would be and we would certainly recommend Villa Vista to anyone looking for a holiday in that part of Croatia.

Owner's Response: Well I couldn't be more pleased with your comments and of course it is wonderful to read these incredibly positive thoughts about the villa and the local area. More importantly, we know what a milestone this holiday was for this very special occasion and are delighted the team was able to meet [ and maybe exceed] your expectations. It is wonderful to have guests that recognise what makes Villa Vista different to so many others. With very best regards

A wonderful, beautiful place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Villa Vista for the first week of August, we had visited Croatia and Hvar previously. We are a family of six, and another family of four joined us. There was plenty of room, no one got on top of one another, the house was clean, welcoming and airy. The outside space was great especially with the stone oven!

When we arrived we had all the basic things like washing up liquid, loo roll, salt and pepper, herbs, olive oil, milk, fruit...brilliant!!! Just makes such a massive difference, not having to buy all the staples for just a week.

The house is in an incredible location, Viganj itself is lovely too, no other English people at all!!! Very good! The local people are so helpful, especially Ivan and Tonchi in the tourist office. We will definitely come back .My third daughter who does not especially like leaving the farm wants to return this year, and actually so do I! A week was not really long enough to do all we wanted to. Sorry, a too long review I expect, my texts end up too long also!
