A lovely oasis

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a very positive experience at this very original home in Montague. The property is beautiful, a well kept lawn and garden with a stunning view out over a farm field to the forested hills in the distance (must be gorgeous in the fall!). The house is definitely unique in its design; feels home built and cozy. Plenty of light and comfort in all rooms. There is not a lot of sound privacy the way the house is built, so take note if that is important to you.

The owner was readily available by phone to handle questions we had. Very friendly and helpful. Definitely a family place! I highly recommend this home. And by the way, it was a perfect home base for attending a wedding at the Montague Retreat Center.

Owner's Response: And as home owner I and my wife found the guests to be very pleasantly appreciative and respectful of our home. They left the home in very fine condition and really observed any requests we made on how to take care when they depart. They are right the area is very beautiful in the fall.

perfect little hideaway

  • 4 of 5

This is a great cabin with tons of personality. Lot's of windows. Lot's of light. The view is great. I could have slept on the porch with the breeze blowing through. Stanley was extremely attentive. I asked him for golf course recommendations and even though he didn't golf he went out of his way to research courses in the area and sent them to me. He even checked in while we were up for the weekend to make sure everything was going well. If you're looking for quiet charm and comfort, this is the place.

Relaxing and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

It is a beautiful house and surrounding outside grounds. We were close enough to Hampshire college to enjoy our daughter's graduation, but far enough away to feel like we were away "from it all".

The home rests in a very quiet and peaceful setting. We enjoyed morning coffee/breakfast on the deck and dining room table, overlooking the beautiful yard and scenery. It was exactly what we needed for our time away. And as somebody else pointed out, there is a swing in the living room and I did try it out! Thank you Miriam and Stanley!!

Owner's Response: Shari and members of her family were very good guests staying at our home. They appreciated the view and the peacefulness of our home and we feel that the home does offer a restful peaceful place yet near enough to lots of amenities ( walks, biking, restaruants, culture etc. ) Shari and her folks left the house in fine condition and did what we ask of our guests. She respected our home and it was a pleasure to have she and her family stay at our home.

Lovely house with nice vibe and amazing views

  • 5 of 5

First of all, I’d like to point out something that none of the other reviewers have so far: THERE IS A SWING IN THE LIVING ROOM. I did not use it, because I am enormous, but if not having a swing in the living room is a deal-breaker for you, look no further!

Anyway.

The house is isolated and quiet. The vibe of the house is very 1971, but it has all modern conveniences like wifi, a stereo, central heat, etc. ( and check out that giant solar panel ) The southern side of the house has a GORGEOUS view of the mountains.

I stayed there for three days for my annual “enjoy autumn with all my old UMass friends” trip, but I’d like to bring my family there in the summertime for a week if possible.

Mr. Habib was very quick in responding to my questions. I felt very welcomed.

Owner's Response: James is the kind of guest one enjoys having for a couple of reasons. First he appreciated the somewhat unique nature of the house it being built with local tobacco barn wood , a wooden structure built in 1970s style and had features he liked. Very important to a host is that he respected our home by leaving it in excellent condition with all put away properly and all straightened up and clean. Stanley
