The Garden City Guest House is nestled in the quiet Rose Park residential neighborhood just blocks from many services, including City parks, free Mountain Line Bus, the University of Montana and Montana College. This spacious, private, and well-maintained guest house is within walking distance of shopping, dining, sports venues, fitness centers, trails, child care, post office and library, churches, fairgrounds, and many more community and commercial centers. It is also a short distance from most Missoula-area outdoor and tourist destinations. If you point to the center of a City of Missoula map, you would likely find you’ve landed on our special guest house—open year-round, perfect for a weekend getaway or a longer stay.

The guest house is a garden apartment on the lower level of a single family home. The owner and family live on the upper two floors of this newly-remodeled, vintage 1940’s home. We would like you to feel right at home during your stay at the Garden City Guest House and will do whatever we can to ensure your visit is relaxing and memorable. The guest house is thoughtfully furnished and stocked with many family-friendly touches of home, including books, movies, games, puzzles, and more.

The guest house has been furnished to create a healthy, serene, and peaceful environment for your stay. The guest house will only be rented to non-smokers - no exceptions. The 650-square foot guest house can accommodate two people comfortably, and will sleep up to four people in one queen bed and one queen sleeper sofa. The bedroom is comfortably furnished with a queen size bed, bedside tables, shelves, and a five-drawer dresser inside a spacious walk-in closet. You’ll find a 6’ couch in the living room which folds out into a very comfortable queen size memory foam sleeper. All linens are provided. The full bathroom has all new fixtures and furnishings including a tub and spacious tiled shower, an ultra quiet bath fan, and brand new washer/dryer. All flooring is new, including plush carpet in the bedroom.

The kitchen is well-equipped and furnished with all new stainless steel kitchen appliances, including a full-size smooth-top electric cookstove and oven, an 18” “silent” (46 DBA) dishwasher, and a French-door refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser. You’ll also find a microwave, coffee maker, Keurig and K-cups, juicer, blender, toaster, an easy-to-clean granite composite sink with electric disposal, and many other features to make your dining-in experience easy and convenient.

The guest house is a non-smoking establishment with all the modern amenities such as cable on a 42” flat screen HDTV, DVD player, and free wi-fi internet. This walk-out garden apartment was designed with a distinctive separate entry that feels like home, a 100 square foot private patio with BBQ grill and shaded seating, a large garden area, and free off-street parking well lit for safety and convenience.

You’ll find lots of light in this newly redone guest house, accented by stylish mahogany trimmed windows. The daylight design allows the guest house to stay cool, even on the hottest days. For cooler nights, stay comfortable with an electric fireplace, insulated windows, and cozy furnishings. Wall heaters create the perfect temperature in each room utilizing separately zoned thermostats.

We also want to provide you with every opportunity to live sustainably, even while on vacation, if you should choose. We have provided equipment such as a compost bin, plastic bag dryer, recycle bin, laundry washing ball, and energy efficient appliances. We converted the fenced-in rear yard to a water-wise landscape, and the garden setting is representative of the intermountain west grasslands. We maintain several fruit trees on the property—plum, pear, apple, and cherry—and our guests are free to make use of any fruit in season.

The Garden City Guest House is without doubt the best place I've ever had the good fortune to rent. The owner did a great job designing and finishing the space so that it is functional and spacious, but also attractive and homey. Tons of amenities in the bath and kitchen make the place even better. (Things like good shampoo, Q-tips and tissues, kitchen gadgets and appliances, spices and other pantry staples [a lot more than you would expect!], fresh eggs....but also things you might need but didn't bring, like an umbrella, extra tote bags, etc.)

The owner also did a great job making sure we'd know everything we needed to know to park, get into the house, operate stuff in the house, etc. Communicated well and enough that we knew we could rely on her for advice/meeting our needs, without overdoing it.

On top of all that, the backyard gardens were beautiful and so pleasant to walk through on our way in and out of the property. We definitely found ourselves glad to have at least one day that we could spend mostly "at home" so we could really enjoy the place.

You will not be sorry if you rent this place! I have been to Missoula twice before, and very happily stayed with relatives both times. This time we were in town for a wedding, and other folks were staying with the relatives. It will be a hard choice to make on the next trip, because this place is so great!!

It was perfect

I was in Missoula to visit my daughter and her husband. The Garden City Guest House was a perfect place to stay near campus. The lower level guest house apartment is modern and comfortable, well furnished, and artfully decorated. The kitchen has everything you need including condiments and basic supplies. I will definitely stay there again.

Perfect Spot

Super Clean and Cozy. It was much more space than it looked in the pictures. Condiments in the fridge are a huge plus if you want to cook on site. I wish more places thought of that. Great coffee selection. Easy Cab or walk to restaurants and bars. My only issue is that we did not get to stay longer. I would recommend staying here to anyone!

Beautiful retreat in the heart of Missoula

What an amazing place to stay. Great amenities, with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, all the kitchen appliances you would ever require. Excellent parking situation off the main street, and very close to the university and downtown shops and restaurants. A cozy little place that felt like home for the three of us this whole week. Would definitely highly recommend the Garden City Guest House, and we plan on staying here again our next time in Missoula.

Nice place...standoffish host

The basement apartment was nice enough. Comfortable and convenient. Never did get to meet the host in person, even though she was there the entire time. When we left we were supposed to contact them, which we did but they did not answer the phone number we were told to call, even though it seemed like they were home. We could only find one of the two keys they provided which we left behind in the appropriate place. The host wanted to charge $25 for a new key which seemed excessive. Would have paid the fee if she wasn't so pushy about it (claimed it was less than it cost her to replace it!) We've been using VRBO for years and have never had a host so standoffish or attempt to Nicole and dime us. We even had one host meal us my son's sweatshirt that he left behind at no charge...she said we paid plenty for the four nights we had stayed there! We generally love VRBO and other similar services because you can feel more like a local or at least be better plugged in. And we gave always had great experiences. This felt more like strictly a business transaction.

Nice place. Would definitely recommend if that's all that matters to you. Just keep track of your keys! 😊

You must not recall that I met you and your wife and son during your stay; however, I do respect my guests’ privacy if that is their preference. I very much enjoy visiting and making recommendations for my guests as it suits their schedule and needs. I have had many return visitors, and I have been fortunate to become friends with a number of past guests. I have attempted to make checking in and out as convenient as possible by not requiring guests to contact me at these hectic times, giving guests time to settle in before introducing myself and orienting them to their stay. As my response time indicates, I respond promptly to all contact. It is not necessary to contact me upon departure, but had I received a phone call from you at check out I would have been happy to assist you. I provided you with two keys at the beginning of your stay, as I always do for guest parties of two or more. The rental contract you signed prior to your stay indicates a lost key fee of $25, and you and I discussed on the phone after your stay that you were not able to find the second key. At that point, you did not respond further and refused to pay the lost key fee. Since I would rather spend time ensuring my guests have the best possible stay in Missoula, I chose not to spend any more time requesting you replace the lost key or repair the damaged fireplace unit. I regret that you did not enjoy your stay and feel I provided every opportunity for you and your family to do so.

Our Stay at GCGH. Dec. 12-29, 2016

WOW such a nice place to stay while visiting Missoula. Within close proximity to our daughter & grandchildren it was the right choice. Amenities galore and quiet home owners who were VERY pleasant. Just like home, only smaller, but very well set up. One of the best stocked kitchens we've seen in a rental property. Complete with high end appliances & even a Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. Jeanie's numerous information notes were helpful. She even kept the guest parking pad clear of snow, how thoughtful!! We both agreed that the GCGH was the only place we will book when visiting Missoula, MT. Thank you Dale & Pat Erdelyi Acworth, Ga.

The damage deposit is returned upon departure if the guest house is left in the same condition you found it and no other additional costs are incurred. Details regarding the return of the damage deposit are outlined in the rental agreement.

Cancellation Policy:
Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive a 100% refund.
Bookings canceled at least 7 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund.
To avoid forfeiture of your payment, please cancel reservations at least 15 days prior to your check-in date. We definitely do not want you to pay for a stay that you cannot enjoy!

Please contact the owner about security deposit for stays longer than 30 days.
