About ruth charny
I am a film producer with 5 grandchildren for whom I built this house. I am anticipating being in London & Paris for work all of next year and therefore decided to put the house up for rent. Ideally, I would prefer a year-long renter or a month-long renter.
ruth charny purchased this House in 2004
Why ruth charny chose Cornwall Bridge
It was a difficult decision to put my house and our things on the rental market, but I'd rather have it used and there's very little that's breakable.
What makes this House unique
this is a very special house in that I built for my 5 grandchildren or rather when I was anticipating grandchildren. It has been enjoyed by all them as they can play, swim, hike, ski, garden, play organized sports, barbecue, roast s'mores around a campfire, sleep under the stars, and roughhouse with the DOG who is far enough from the road to never be on leash and protects the many flowers and vegetables from deer. Our neighbor on route 7 (although our driveway is 1/4 mile long and far from the road) is the Housatonic Valley, which protects the region Association which protects

Enjoyed our stay
We enjoyed our stay at Ruth’s property. We had to leave a day early for work, but it was a pleasant weekend. The property is perfect for a quiet getaway. It was a bit hard to find the driveway as there was no sign. Be prepared because reception is weak around that area. It’s a good thing there was wifi in the house. The surrounding towns were interesting to visit. Ruth is very responsive and answered our questions promptly. Thank you Ruth!
Lovely summer escape with a fun pool
Owner was super responsive and helpful - a smooth exchange from day 1. The house is a lovely, open space that brings everyone together. Very secluded but close to Kent and Sharon. Highly recommend.
Love this place
Peace and serenity.
June 2019 stay
Tranquil setting in beautiful modern home. The pool was fabulous! Ruth was very communicative and easy to get a hold of. My family thorough look y enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay again!
Great house in a great location
The house is clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The pool is lovely, and the field perfect for the dogs to run around in. I personally appreciated the kitchen, which is stocked with all the cooking tools you need. Ruth is very responsive to questions and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our first stay in this part of Connecticut - there are great restaurants, shops, and parks all within 15 minutes of the house. A highlight was watching a show at the Sharon Playhouse. Thank you Ruth!
Really unique location
Overall, we were happy with the place. Really cool place with all the privacy in the world.
Bring bug spray.
There were only minor issues like a bathroom door not locking and an outlet cover not being secured.
Overall it was a great stay and the owner was very communicative and accommodating.
Thanks for the lovely review. Bathroom door locks are disabled so older kids can’t lock themselves in.
House is about 2 miles from the Kent Falls Park and about 4 miles from the Audubon Society, about 1/2 mile away from riding stable, 1/2 miles away from river fishing, and 4 miles from town lake and lake club, and 3 miles from entrance to Appalachian Trail.
