About the property

Beautiful architect-designed home in desirable neighborhood

Flooded with light, our architect-designed fully furnished 2,600-square foot town home offers an open floor plan with 8 beautiful room areas; southern exposures; a single-home feel; 3 potential bedrooms (a king-sized bed, a double bed, and a queen-sized bed); 2.5 architect-designed bathrooms with custom marble and travertine; stunning master bedroom suite that occupies entire third floor and includes Bain Ultra air tub, 16' cathedral ceilings and private deck; sliders to a large back deck on the first floor and additional porch on the second floor; white picket fence; 20-minute walk to Harvard Square; 5-minute walk to the Charles River; 10-minute walk to grocery stores, pharmacy and restaurants; 10-minute walk to Central Square and Red Line subway stop; tree-lined streets in quiet, desirable neighborhood; laundry; 2-zone central ac; cable and wireless internet access; grand first floor ideal for family interaction and entertaining; stainless steel appliances in kitchen; 1 off-street (driveway) parking with brick pavers; and Queen Anne premium wood windows, crown mouldings and wainscoting.

Your comfort and pleasure are important to us. We can compile a list of attractions if you let us know why you are visiting. Are you dropping off your child at Harvard? Check out the thin crust pizza and wine list at Cambridge One. Do you have children? A new Boston-area LEGOland just opened last year. Are you interested in glass-blowing? The glass-blown flower exhibit at the Harvard Museum of Natural History will glass-blow your mind! Boston has Fenway Park, an aquarium, the Museum of Fine Arts, a contemporary art museum (ICA), the Freedom Trail, and much more.

We will greet you or leave instructions to find a key at 4 pm on check-in day. We are within walking distance of two grocery stores, but if you want to send a grocery list in advance, we'll stock the fridge for your first night, save receipts, and you can reimburse us for the food. If you are treating your spouse to a wedding anniversary trip, we can set up the master bedroom suite with candles, rose petals--and champagne! If you are celebrating your child's birthday, we can help arrange decorations and a cake. Please just let us know how we can make your trip a special

Our preferred minimum stay during peak season (which starts with Marathon weekend and goes through summer) is 3 or 4 days, but we list only 2 days on this site as our official minimum, so we definitely take exceptions. We have a maximum 4-person capacity. Our home is not child-proof for babies, toddlers, and young ones, but we welcome children 10 years and older. (Note: There are three sets of stairs in this home.)

We have a king-sized bed in the master bedroom with en suite on the third floor, a double bed on the second floor, and a queen-sized bed on the garden level (in the playroom/TV room). All three beds are real beds with real mattresses. There are so sleeper sofas or futons masquerading as real beds! You will sleep well...

Come experience a five-star vacation. See you soon.

College reunioin

  • 5 of 5

This house was wonderful! It was spotless yet very comfortable. I was in Cambridge with college friends for a reunion. The neighborhood was safe and in a central location. I was able to get to my locations easily walking, public transportation or Uber. I highly recommend this property and would stay here again!

Beautiful home, fun area

  • 5 of 5

House was lovely! Everything about it was very comfortable and relaxing. Linda was quite helpful ahead of the stay, suggesting a ton of tasty restaurants nearby (we didn't find any food that we didn't love!). There were a lot of rules at the house compared to other VRBOs that we've stayed at in the past but all were straight forward and easy to follow.

It was our first time visiting Boston and we really enjoyed the Cambridge neighborhood. Uber rides were easy to get and inexpensive when we decided to venture closer to downtown. Never felt unsafe, which is always a plus!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review. You were delightful and thoughtful guests. You left the property in great shape! I'm thrilled you took advantage of our great location. I'm glad you found the household guidelines straightforward. And I wholeheartedly agree they are longer than the average list: To explain just one example--our request that guests not wear perfumes or any fragrances--we are very close to the medical mecca in Boston, and we sometimes get cancer patients, for example, who will be visiting our renowned cancer hospitals. If they undergo treatments while they are visiting, they are very sensitive to odors, which can make them violently nauseated. We urge guests to read our guidelines in advance of booking for these reasons. I'm glad you brought up the point here. Come back to visit us any time.

Spacious and Relaxing Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this lovely home for a family vacation. We drove up from Rhode Island to Boston and we were all delighted to walk into such a lovely, comfortable, airy house! The refrigerator had drinks and snacks in it and the owner also left us a recipe and ingredients for a delicious summer drink! There is a large t.v. in the basement and master bedroom. The owner also went above and beyond listing places to eat within in walking distance and within a subway/Uber ride. The neighborhood is very quite and charming and Trader Joe's is just a five minute walk down the street. We rented bikes from in the Trader Joe's parking lot and cycled along the Charles River. Harvard Square is just over the river as well, along with very close subway stations. We had a great time with this house as our home base as we explored Cambridge and Boston. The owner is also very quick to respond and accommodate your needs.

Owner's Response: It was lovely having you and your family as guests. You were incredibly thoughtful. I'm so glad you enjoyed and appreciated the property. Property owners can now leave "rating reviews" for guests, and I left you one with five stars in all categories, of course. I hope you will consider staying with us again.

Well-stocked, comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

We rented this dream home for a family celebration, and it suited us very well. The kitchen was very well stocked (well beyond what one normally finds in VRBO properties) and comfortable for cooking multiple courses. We could also easily walk to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. The master bedroom was well designed, with lots of storage space and a high ceiling. The entire house is light and airy.

Best of all was the owner's assistance. She truly cared that we had what we needed and that we were enjoying her house. This was a true find.

Wonderful stay in gorgeous Cambridge home!

  • 5 of 5

This property is wonderfully comfortable, beautiful and lovingly maintained. I would highly recommend this house for any travelers to the Boston area. It is close to grocery stores and restaurants but on a pretty quiet street. The owner is great to work with on arrangements and very responsive to communications. The house really is sun-filled as the listing title states and is nicely furnished with everything you would need. The parking space comes in handy for the busy area.

Truly a Dream Home

  • 5 of 5

Our main priority was the location...It is centrally located with amenities, eateries within walking distance. Going into Boston was easy (UBER worked out perfectly) and close. The house is simply beautiful, tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. It offers all the comforts of home. There were days when the kids didn't want to leave the the best lobster sandwich is just a delightful walk away!
