Onekama Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, Sleeps 7

This charming victorian style cottage, located in the quaint village of Onekama, sleeps 7 guests. The Master Suite includes a private bathroom and queen bed. Additional bedrooms upstais provide a pair of twin beds and another queen bed. A full-sized sleeper sofa on the main floor provides an extra bed when needed. 2 1/2 baths make this cottage perfect for large family vacations. The rest of the house is fully furnished and equipped for your perfect summer beach getaway!

After a fun day at the beach, build a fire or grill some steaks in the private, fenced-in backyard. A natural artesian spring fountain will provide all of the background music you will need. The large covered front porch offers an additional spot to sit back and unwind after a busy day of exploring.

The cottage is conveniently located across the street from the All Sports Portage Lake and is approximately 4 miles from the Lake Michigan public beach access.

Relaxing week in a comfy cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation goal was a relaxing week in a comfortable space and the cottage fulfilled our goal. The cleanliness and roominess was a welcome change to our recent rental experiences. My husband appreciated the easy access to Portage Lake for fishing. I appreciated the comfortable space to relax. The sitting/reading room with views of busy bird feeders was an enjoyable bonus. The owner Rob was very prompt in answering any questions we had. Very much enjoyed the cottage.

Beautiful cottage in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was ideal for our family of six adults and one infant. With three bedrooms and 2.5 baths our weeklong stay was very comfortable and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Equipped with a large flat screen TV in the living room and fast (10 mbps) internet we had all the comforts of home. The kitchen was adequately equipped (we cooked most of our meals rather than frequenting the Onekama restaurants) and the house was beautifully decorated. We were able to walk to the downtown area and especially enjoyed the public park and beach on Portage Lake. The washing machine is on it's last legs but Rob told us that he is replacing it in the near future. We hope to stay here again the next time we visit the Onekama area!

Great family vacation week

  • 5 of 5

We were positively impressed with this rental unit. We found it more spacious and comfortable than even the pictures show! Our family enjoyed a great week in Onekama and sightseeing around the area (Sleeping Bear Dunes, Cherry Bowl Drive In, Manistee area). This house was a pleasant place to spend our down time together--and the A/C made it comfortable for sleeping during a hot week. Thank you to Rob for your attentiveness to our needs and questions throughout the week.

Fully-loaded, very spacious and comfortable, excellent location, responsive owner

  • 5 of 5

A great fit for five adults who yearned for a quiet place but also wanted to be close to attractions and Lake Michigan. There wasn't anything lacking in the house (including wifi and Netflix) and the space was much greater than expected. Spent lots of time enjoying the breeze on the front wrap-around porch and loved watching the birds from the den. Beds were comfortable and there was lots of closet/storage space. Bathrooms were very functional and with 2 & 1/2 available, no one had to wait. Loved the decor of the place, too; a good mix of antiques/beach finds/comfy furniture that made us feel right at home. Owner was very responsive to our few questions and we had NO problems whatsoever. Location was ideal; right next to a big interior lake and 10 minutes to Lake Michigan beaches. Onekama is a quiet little burg but contains a couple of good diners, and we were within 20 minutes of some larger towns where there was plenty of other dining and shopping options. We were very happy with the entire experience and would definitely stay again. Thanks, Boyds!

Very nice house and excellent location

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay in the Onekama Village Cottage. The house is quite nice with plenty of room to spread out. Excellent location within easy walking distance to the town park/beach for swimming and kayaking, Papa J's for ice cream, the M22 diner for breakfast, or The Yellow Dog Cafe for coffee and scones and with a wonderful front porch and private backyard. And, of course the Lake Michigan beach at the end of Portage Lake is wonderful. Easy drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Frankfort, and Traverse City as well. We hope to be back next summer.
