Kealakekua House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, 4 Sleeps

Hawaiian Style Nice Custom 2 bd/1ba on the World Famous Kona Coffee Belt. Beautiful Tropical surroundings with coffee, avo, papaya, banana etc trees and flowers. Perfect Lanai to watch the Awesome Sunsets over the Ocean. Kealakekua is in the Kona District on the Big Island. It is just South of Kailua-Kona (Ironman start and finish area) and North of Kealakekua Bay (One of the best snorkeling spots in the World!!!) This Home is away from all the tourist traps yet only 8-10 miles away from the heart of Kailua-Kona with all it's shops and activity booths. There is a local Hawaiian town a few blocks away. The homes sits at a little cooler elevation which is very desirable.:) Pictures are all on property and will give you a good idea of what to expect but please feel free to ask me questions and tell me what you are looking for. I did not post pictures of nearby beaches and other Big Island areas that are not on this property. Home comes with plenty of beach towels, beach umbrella, chair, coolers and even a couple kayaks under the house you are welcome to dust off and use at no extra cost. This has been my family home for many years looking for travelers that will enjoy it and treat it with Aloha :) It's a Fantastic property! Know you will love it!!! Rates are low I wanted to make it affordable for couples and based on a two person occupancy there will be a $20 a day charge per additional guest. 808 937-7439 If you look at My first review (last one down)they describe it perfectly and gives more info so check that out if you want more info :) This is NOT a party house at times owner or friend of owner could be staying in downstairs Ohana. There is NOT a communal kitchen or anything like that. You have your own private 2bd home upstairs with lanai and entrance and yard. Your privacy is always respected :) but I can be reached easily by phone or will have a local contact person when I am off island. There are frogs on property that you will probably never see abut Will hear at night :) There are wild chickens that cruise through the property from time to time and have had roosters on occasion, This home is known as a very peaceful place to stay I just like to try to tell you anything someone may consider as a negative so there are no surprises and you have an Awesome stay:) There is a Queen size bed in the master bedroom and a double in the smaller bedroom. NON smoking on Entire Property. Think this covers it please just ask if you have more questions and I will be happy to answer them :) Mahalo

About Carole Ward

Not the best on computers not sure how to get the red out on photo ....I raised my children in this home. Have lived on the Big Island for over 25 + years. Love it here feel free to ask questions. Happy to give you some local tips.

Why Carole Ward chose Kona Coast

Awesome property! it's why I have called it home for so long :)

It's tropical you know you are in Hawaii it's cooler than town and away from all the traffic noise but close enough that its not a mission to go to town and back. Kealakekua is considered a very desirable area to live on the Big Island it is hard to find a place to buy because people move here and don't leave. The high school is filled with children who have parents that went there as children. To me it was the perfect place to raise my children and a place they want to return to when they are ready to settle down and start their own families:)

As others have written, Carole's home is beautiful and welcoming; it's obvious this has been a comfortable and well-loved dwelling. The house is in a residential neighbourhood South of Kona/Kailua and is a sweet place where one can escape the tourist buzz. There were ample sheets/towels/supplies/kitchen utensils, etc., with nice indoor and outdoor (lanai and yard) spaces in which to relax. Since she was off-island while I was there, Carole and I never met in person but arrangements were all smooth and communication was very cordial. The Big Island is a BIG island so exploration requires a good bit of driving and I found this home well-situated for forays in all directions. One thing to note: there are shoreline accesses within a 20-25 minute drive from the house but the nicest big white sand beaches are a good hour's drive North. Overall, if you want to be close to the Kona/Kailua area, I would recommend this lovely home. Many many thanks to Carole.

It was a wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

The house was immaculate and very comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with good quality kitchenware and basic cooking needs. Carol was very helpful and attentive to our needs. She went out of her way to help us in every way. Beds were comfortable with high quality bedding. Beach equipment was plentiful and in great condition. The view from the house and porch was terrific. The photos in the listing do not do the house justice, it was really lovely. I would highly recommend this house.

This is your idead vacation home

  • 5 of 5

If you are thinking about renting this home for your Hawaiian vacation, stop considering, this is the place you want. The location is great, right off the highway, nice small town but with some great local stores and restaurants. You will be close to some great beaches and snorkeling locations but far enough away from the crowds and traffic of Kona.

The home has lovely Hawaiian decor and everything you will need for your vacation. Waking up every morning to the gorgeous view and soothing sounds was heaven. Pictures and reviews on this site are very accurate, you will love your time here.

Positives: communication with owner was easy and fast, she was available by email, phone, and text, checked on our arrival and wished us well upon departure; supplied just about everything you will need for your stay including beach towels, masks/fins, full kitchen to cook whatever you like, TV and internet for relaxing after a busy day, lots of windows but lots of vegetation so you don't see any neighbors, cute little geckos that like to visit you.

A few notes: the driveway from where you park and then walk to home entrance is steep (and there are steps up to front door), also, bring your earplugs if the sounds of nature keep you awake. (Hawaii has lots of wild chickens/roosters); visit Donkey Balls (chocolate covered macadamia nuts) and Gypsy Gelato. Take a catamaran to Captain Cook (worth the money),visit Two-Step to snorkel, and take the drive up Mauna Kea for sunset and stargazing, all worth the time.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

I came to race the Ironman in Kona and this was the perfect location. The acces to Kailu-Kona from here is easy and fast, the views are amazing and the temperature is much nicer specially at nights when it cools down a little bit. House has everything and more than I would ever need and the owner (Carole) was always available and helpful when needed. Is a great place to relax and also to explore the island. Aloha!

Hawaiian Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at Carole’s vacation rental was absolutely outstanding. Staying here contributed significantly to one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. The location was superb. The house is relatively close to the happenings in Kona/Kailua, yet nicely distant from the bustle of the central tourist district. It’s got easy access to the main road which got us to the bigger towns and everything else we wanted to see. There are several nice beaches (with great swimming and decent snorkeling) within relatively short driving distance to the North and South.

The house itself is very nice and was very clean. My wife has high standards in that regard and was very pleased. It was well kept and tastefully decorated. A covered deck wraps around three sides and provides a nice perch with a relaxing feel that looks out over a “tamed jungle” with good privacy. Fruit and nut trees shade portions of the yard when the weather gets hot. I also enjoyed sunbathing in the lounge chairs as the weather on this side of the island was ideal pretty much all the time, night or day. Everything at the house worked just fine: range, washer, dryer, TV, etc. I messed up the settings on the TV, but Carole was immediately (and courteously) available to help walk me through a reset and then it worked without a hitch.

My communications with Carole prior to arrival were very pleasant and congenial. Email and phone connections were very helpful in sorting out details about the house, directions for finding the place, as well as some information for me as a newcomer (regarding local entertainment and attractions). She struck me as a considerate and honest person who had nothing to hide and a lot to offer. I didn’t see her while we were there, but she made sure I knew how to contact her if I needed anything. We didn’t need anything more than her place offered. I would definitely stay here again and will highly recommend it to my friends.

Hawaiian Flavor

While not secluded, this lovely 2 bedroom made you feel as though you were. Simple Hawaiian style decor with a large lovely double shower. This was my Hawaiian dream house. Nestled among fruit trees and palms with an ocean view and at night the frogs and night creatures will lull you to sleep. We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute. Hope to visit again.
