2000 sq. ft oceanfront cottage. 2 bedroom, 2 bath
About Janice Seaker
Raised in Vancouver and a Vancouver island resident for 30 years, I have owned the Cleo Beachfront for 26 years. The property, although originally built on in 1946 has had only 2 owners.
Janice Seaker purchased this House in 1991
Why Janice Seaker chose North Saanich
Destiny. I knew I would buy this property when I was only halfway down the driveway the first time.
What makes this House unique
This property puts the cycle of life squarely in front of you. You are very close to nature here. In the spring, the birds and the bees start their dance; the herring spawn; the birds fly by with sticks and grasses as they make their nests, the frogs sing and the eagles call. In the fall, the salmon rest before heading to spawning streams. This too brings in many eagles who you may see plummeting to the ocean to catch a fish before flying into one of the trees on the property to eat it. The Canada geese start to arrive in late July or August to rest before heading north to feed. I have had personal experiences with orphaned seagulls, a heron, a raven and crows all of whom I have fed until they were ready and able to rejoin their brethren. (and an interesting fact is that they do not 'always come back' - happily, they return to the real life). This property is very private, and is a haven away from city life. The darker skies of the rural community allow for excellent star gazing and the warm water temperatures allow for the most spectacular summer swimming - don't just dip - but get your exercise!

This is a lovely home in a great location. It's a very spacious well appointed home with fantastic views everywhere! Beautiful foliage, quiet and secluded. The owner is great!
Fantastic and Serene
We were 2 couples and could not have been happier in this lovely home. The views were spectacular. The house had everything we needed and the beds were very comfy...we all slept great. The wildlife was so fun to watch...from bunnies, deer, otters, porpoise, and eagles. We really lucked out on the weather while there. Janice was very helpful in helping us find our way around the area. We would love to return in the summer months to experience the gardens in full bloom. It was beautiful regardless.
Thank you so much for your review. I hope to see you all again during flower season!
Great place truly off the beaten path. Right on the water and less than 10 minutes to Sydney .
Older home in great shape everything described by owner is accurate. Views and wildlife are real. Very popular and hard to get dates.
Thank you Don for your review. Your review is a milestone... number 50!
Gorgeous setting and home
This house has amazing ocean and garden views. The landscaping is beautiful - even more so than the pictures. The house is large and secluded but provides convenient access to key areas - minutes to Sydney, wineries, hiking, kayaking, and the ferry.
We saw harbor porpoises and tons of birds while relaxing in the front rooms.
The kitchen has everything you need. The seating inside and out is cozy and comfortable - Janice even left some blankets outside for the chilly weather this time of year. The skylights throught the house provide lots of light. The bedrooms each have amazing views.
Janice is very responsive to questions and helpful with area attractions.
We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much for a wonderful review!
Excellent in all respects
A large house right on the shore with wonderful views.
Well equipped. Janice the owner was very helpful whilst remaining discreet and ensuring our privacy.
Thank you John for your review.
It was a pleasure meeting you both.
Could not have found a better place to quietly vacation. Playing harbour porpoises added to the charm.
Thank you for your review; sometimes just a few words says it all!
