About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

We were very pleased wit location and the house was just the right size for us. Also, it was selected because we wanted to bring our dog.

Not bad but not great.

Nice cabin great location. But when we first opened the door it smelled like marijuana. The carpets in the bottom rooms smelled like marijuana. The bedding was not cleaned well at least it seemed like it wasn't. Toilet seat is cracked. Couple items missing that the cabin says it has. But honest we still had a great time at this cabin the location is great and we did have a lot of fun.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your review. We apologize for the smell and will make sure our property manager inspects the home and clears out any smells left by previous guests. Vacasa homes are all non smoking so you should not have to worry about this going forward. We are so glad to hear that you still had a great time and we hope you get a chance to come back soon!

Cozy Place

 • 5 of 5

Very cozy. We had 8 people here but we definitely agree with the home description, it fits 7 people comfortably. Bathrooms are very small but we were able to deal. All in all, very nice home.

Only complaints were that the TV in the main living room was on when we showed up and we couldn't get it to turn off so I think we just unplugged it and the downstairs bath tub kept backing up during each use and the cleaning crew could have done a better job.

Since we stayed here in the winter, there was a good bit of snow. We were very grateful for the electric wood burning stove (it gave off great heat) and the snow shovels on the back deck and at the front door.

Cute place to stay. Overall, very satisfied.

Great Location, Good layout of rooms, Beautiful big windows, Property management not so great

 • 2 of 5

I'll start with the good first - great location - close to skiing, shopping dining and you are surrounded by beautiful scenery. The house was spacious enough to sleep the 7 of us, and we were all comfortable. House was stocked with pretty much everything you would need.

The bad - Showed up at check in time of 4 to two feet of snow in the driveway. While we were shoveling the snow to park the cars of which only two would fit (even thought the description said there would be room for 3 cars (had to park the third down the street in a condo complex), a housecleaner came running by us into the house. She came running back out after stuffing some linens in the wash to say it would be another hour before it would be clean. After we called, 3 more housecleaners showed up to clean so we got into the house around 6:00 after shoveling snow and sitting in our cars. It was 28 degrees outside. The bear box was full of garbage from previous renters. We were told in the description that the garbage would be picked up on Wednesday so we put it out only to have to bring it all back in that night because it was actually Friday that they pick up. The management came by to pick up some of the garbage as we were leaving the place our last day.

Also there was no laundry detergent there for us to clean any of the linens on our way out. Made us think maybe the cleaners washed the linens without soap. Yuk.

Hard to recommend because of all this and no offer to deduct some of our rental cost which was extremely high because of it being Christmas holiday.
