Vacasa - Vacation Rentals Made Easy:
Professionally managed and cleaned homes
Local assistance 24/7 for emergencies
Secure INSTANT booking
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
If you don't like dogs, don't rent this place! There are several large dogs that freely run throughout the cul-de-sac. They are all super friendly and love to come visit. We love dogs and had our two with us. It is a beautiful spot and we didn't want to leave!
The local welcoming committee (neighborhood pups) were very sweet. They made our pups (boxers) feel right at home. :)
The house is nice, and it’s quiet. The furnishings are dated but functional. The last ½ mile of road to the house is in bad shape. The neighborhood is unsightly… they were friendly, but I definitely felt like we needed to lock our vehicles. Although the house is dog friendly, I’d think twice about taking pets. There were no less than 5 or 6 dogs who were always around, their owners would rarely intervene. It got to the point it was annoying to drive up and have neighbor dogs jumping in the car as we’re trying to unload. Most were friendly, but I definitely wouldn’t let the younger kids walk around outside by themselves.
Nice cabin, close to lots of hiking and recreation as well as the town of Welches (and the Grocery Store). Not particularly secluded, but with the river right there it's quiet and the neighbors (and their dogs) are friendly. A little tricky to find, make sure you follow the directions rather than internet maps are a bit off in the area.
We had a great time at this getaway in Welches! Incredible location, and great amenities.
We enjoyed our stay here - sweet memories made.
Pros: Location: right on the river! Loved listening to the river and the kids had fun exploring as it wasn't deep. Hot tub: a definite plus and really fun to enjoy that with the family. Fireplace: a must! Very cozy. Space: plenty of space, seating, dining space, very nice. The deck was also great and would be fun in summer. Close to Mt Hood outdoor attractions. Close to Thriftway for things you forgot.
Cons: Location! Sadly the neighbors and the muddy street make the immediate area look like a trashy trailer park. Nothing the cabin can do about the neighbors, but it's very unfortunate. And as others said: beware the huge dogs that come running up, and a little one that keeps trying to get in to the house. The little one jumped inside our car and peed when we were unpacking! Another con: the downstairs shower comes with its own wrench to turn on/off. Owner should go put a knob on that shower ASAP - cheap and quick fix! Bedroom tvs are very old and we saw they were connected to a cable but we never figured out how to play anything but a VCR. Upstairs heat is also iffy. I have no idea how others did it in winter/early spring - I got up twice to flip the breakers and the heat upstairs would turn on for a bit and then quit. As another said, we were cold the first night and the second night was fine. But that issue should be fixed for sure.
While we loved being on the river, and the inside of the cabin was great (very clean!!), we probably wouldn't return because of the issues mentioned. With cleaning and fees (hot tub, booking, etc.), it turned out to be above our budget and next time we'll look for something in a cleaned-up neighborhood where the cost will feel justified.
Thanks for a good stay!
