About Jim or Carman Taylor
Welcome to the Roberson family farm - my parent's' legacy to my brother and I. It was from this beautiful place that I was launched into the culinary field both in education and career. In 1997, I returned to the homestead to care for my Mother and to fashion the next chapter of my life. I purchased the building and moved it to the site and set about making it a haven for myself. After Mother passed, I tackled the original farmhouse eventually moving in there when Jim retired and moved to the farm. I am deeply connected to this land, this area, this paradise. There is much maintenance on a farm this size and of course one must pay the "taxas on Tara" I had thought to sell some acreage, but the realtor I was working with suggested VRBO and thus began my newest career. It is my dream to pass along the farm to my beautifu l and talented andl daughters. It is a blessing to share homecoming with my children, grandchildren and friends. I feel the land calling to me, I hear the word enduring, I hear my Mother playing the fiddle, and I hear my Dad calling "Baby Snooks" time to come in. The preparation for inviting guest to the cottage opened my eyes to the abuncance of flora and fauna, the natural beauty that surrounds us. Blooming abundantly are wildflowers, wild herbs, berries-black berries, wild black rasberries, elberberries, wild blueberries, and black walnuts trees. Deer, wildturkey, rabbits, grouse and occasional bear can be seen. There are nights when the cottage is empty, so Jim and I take advantage and enjoy the night coming down, the moon rises, and the river sparkles like diamonds and its quiet and there is peace

Delightful stay! The cabin was charmingly decorated and exceptionally clean and well-furnished. The owners thought of everything a person might need to make the stay a great experience. The kitchen had every pan and utensil a person might need; there is a charcoal grill and fire pit in case you prefer more “outdoor” time. There were flowers in every room and little visual treasures to catch the eye. We enjoyed walks around the property, the birds at the feeder, and the daily visits by Ava, the dog, who came by each morning to get a treat. It was a restful time and we couldn’t speak highly enough about the hospitality of the owner. Did I mention the delicious fresh, homemade organic pound cake welcoming us?
Very peaceful and relaxing location. Outdoor activities include hiking & fishing. Secluded but quick access to restaurants, abundant antique shops and sightseeing. Owners are terrific people.

Two Weeks of Mountain Bliss
Wonderful, cozy cottage with huge front porch for watching the birds, dining, reading, and viewing the sunsets beyond the mountains. Beautifully decorated with French country and complete with everything. Ava, the owner's sweet dog, came by to visit each day and take walks with us. We were treated to cut flowers and fresh produce from the owner's garden. Gas, Piggly Wiggly, restaurants, and a huge produce market within a few miles. In a word - blissful.

This place is perfect!
Staying at the cottage was the perfect way to spend our honeymoon. We loved arriving to fresh flowers, champagne, and pound cake! There was no question the place was clean. The fire pit, rocking chairs, swings, trails, and views were all well loved and enjoyed! Comfortable bed, plenty of kitchen supplies, coffee in the cabinet, and even a grill all helped us feel like we were “home.” This is an AMAZING property and I would recommend it to anyone!
