We have stayed in many vrbo homes and this one wins hands down! I wish the owners of this property would buy and renovate a home in every locale that we like to go to! The home, treats, wine, yard.....everything perfect! My family was ecstatic when they walked in and everyone was feeling a bit sad to leave. Even though we were very busy with a wedding, it was so nice to come back to a peaceful retreat! Thank you so much! Joseph is wonderful to work with and made the whole process smooth and comfortable!
This has got to be one of the best VRBO experiences we have had in our years of travel. The home is not only beautifully appointed, but warm and comfortable, and full of "extras".
Our host was there to greet us and show us around the home and all that it had to offer. All of the rooms were beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Everything was immaculate. Sitting on the dining room table was a welcome gift of cheese, crackers, fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. Robes were hanging up for us in the bathrooms. Soaps, scents, tissues - everything we needed was included. No quick trip to the local market to stock up on those personal items required! The Kitchen not only had all that was needed for any cooking that you wanted to do, but had fresh ground coffee and premium teas waiting for us along with pound cake and a delicious chocolate cake for midnight snacks.
The landscaped back yard had a dining area set up with a gas grill and a patio warmer which was perfect for enjoying the early evenings together. And a fire pit complete with a s'more making kit (discovered in the pantry) was available for a fun night around the fire.
Commercial quality washer and dryers made quick work of refreshing our wardrobe for the stay. And bicycles complete with helmets and locks were available for exploring the beach. We even rode down into town.
Comfortable beds and clean, crisp linens were a joy to fall into at the end of the day. We cannot overstate how wonderful this home was to stay in and how gracious our host was in making our time there a great vacation for our family.
WE WILL BE BACK!!
The house was so unbelievably adorable and worked so well for my husband and I, our daughters (3 and 4 months) and my mother in law. The reason for our stay was to look for homes in the Bay Area, as we were living in Texas. Most of our time was spent scouring neighborhoods but it was nice to be close enough to downtown to fit in more touristy things. The house was very clean and tidy and the owners had made sure to make us feel right at home with bites to eat and even gifts for my 2 young girls. My now 4 year old still talks about wanting to go back to this house. She was also a big fan of the little playhouse and getting to run around the beautiful backyard. I would definitely come back!
I have rented multiple VRBO properties and this was by far the best at making our family feel at home. We were greeted by Joseph personally who handled everything from the time the property was booked until we walked out the door. They had a wonderful cake and fruit to greet us. What I also loved was plenty of supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, spices, olive oil, coffee. And not just small quantities, more than enough for the whole stay. They even provided fire wood and a selection of 4 liqueurs. The house itself looks like it came out of Architectural Digest. Beautifully decorated!! We loved staying in Half Moon Bay. Initially I considered staying in SF but am so happy I chose this house. We were able to easily (and usually against traffic) visit many great attractions like Muir Woods, Tiburon, Angle Island, Pier 39, Stanford and The Golden Gate Bridge. (Easy access to San Mateo and Foster City where I had to go for other reasons). The property is walking distance to a beach. They even had two bikes that we could use!! Very thoughtful owner. I highly recommend this property if you are traveling to the Bay Area!!
Beautiful home! Really looks like something out of a magazine. Everything was spotless! Also, anything you could think of was there waiting for us to use (including the ingredients to make smores for the kids)--there was no need to run out to the store right away. There was cake and pastries when we arrived along with coffee and orange juice for the morning. The owners are very thoughtful. We ate a few meals at home and enjoyed the nearby restaurants. We used the fire pit several times and enjoyed being able to sit down and relax together as a family. We loved being able to see San Francisco and come back to a home away from home. My favorite part of this whole trip though was being able to walk to the ocean every day and see the whales. It was incredible. Thank you for such a great stay. We would recommend this place to anyone.
Our family travels often and we are very paticular about the properties or hotels we visit. Our thinking is we want to stay somewhere like home or better. This house was exactly that. Attention to details were in every room. Even decorations in the pantry and closets. I will now be doing that at my own home😋 When we arrived candles were lit, music playing, pastries, cake, fruit, cheese, orange juice, Smores items, wine, and spirits were displayed beautifully just for us. We were greeted by Joseph who was an absolute sweet heart to show the house and and answer any questions we had about the area of Half Moon Bay. My kids each had their own room and slept like babies in the cozy rooms. While we were there we made smores in the back yard fire pit, relaxed with the wonderful magazines in the house, and made chocolate cake milk shakes with the milk shake machine provided. We ate at the Half Moon Brewery several times and It's Italia in the cute little downtown. We rode bikes down the coast and stopped to watch the many whales and amazing surfers. I ran on the path that takes you all the way to Ritz Carlton and met my family for lunch. It was a great view the whole way. We have been traveling 3 weeks of go go go everyday and this was a nice spot to chill before we head back home to Florida. My children are 10 and 12...their highlight was playing in the back yard. Sometimes it's the littlest things💙.
Thank you again for beautiful decorating talent and letting us meet Joseph.

Nestled between forested hills and the beautiful Northern California coastline, lies the town of Half Moon Bay. Starting as an agricultural hub for the Bay Area, this coastal hamlet remains well known for it's farming roots. On the drive in you can expect to see fields of flowers, and depending on the season, you can find rows of Christmas trees and pumpkin patches, or the waves of professional and amateur surfers driving into town for the legendary Mavericks surfing events off the coast of Pillar Point, a five minute drive from the house.
